If you find yourself in Lewiston, Maine and are a fan of architecture (regardless of your faith preference), I highly recommend that you stop by this iconic landmark. The Basilica is not only on the national register of historic places, but is also the second largest church in all of New England. The church was built in the late 19th/early 20th century by the thousands of French Canadian (Catholic) immigrants that flooded into the area to work in the mills for a chance at a better life.

St. Saviour is an historic Episcopal church. The oldest part of the church was begun in 1876; later parts were added through 1901, including the renowned collection of stained glass windows by Tiffany and others. The parish is still active today, and we invite you to visit for a tour, for worship, or just for a moment of quiet respite in your day. During the tourist season (June - October), the church is open daily from about 8:30 - 4:30 for self-guided tours. Guided tours Sunday 11:15 (after the 10:00 Eucharist) and other times by appointment. The Church office (next door) is open as posted in the "hours" section. May God continue to bless you!
The stained glass windows in this church are so unique and beautiful. The church was empty the day we walked in and we were able to take it all in without a lot of people around us. Very beautiful and worth a stop.

The Sabbathday Lake Shaker Museum is located within the perimeters of the only active and functioning Shaker Community in the world. The museum was first organized in 1931 by Sisters Iona Sedgley and Ethel Peacock in hopes of educating the public about the "truths" of Shakerism. Thousands of visitors have come to explore this unique and sacred place of work and worship. Six of the 18 existing structures at Sabbathday Lake are open to the public. Throughout these buildings there are twenty-seven exhibit rooms which explore a continuum of over 200 years of Shaker heritage in the Maine Communities. We request that all visitors remember that this site is a home and to respect the privacy and work schedules of the Shaker Community. With the exceptions of the Shaker Store and Museum Visitors' Center, access to any building is restricted by guided tour only. 1-hour guided tours leave our Visitors' Center every hour on the half hour beginning at 10:30am with the last tour leaving at 3:15pm. The Shaker Museum is open from the Friday of Memorial Day weekend through Columbus Day. Open Monday through Saturday, from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm EST. Please note that the Museum and grounds are closed on Sundays but Sunday Meeting worship is open to the public. We offer a full schedule of workshops, concerts, and special events throughout the year, please visit our website for our full calendar of events.
The Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village provides unexpected insight to this dwindling religion, its tenets and lifestyle. The museum teaches about simple life at this village from its earliest times into the current century. Tours of the buildings are educational about how the Shakers interacted with the outside world and also within their hierarchy, as well as furniture and products made over the village's many years. A stop in the museum shop provides the opportunity to support the community through purchase of their products, including herbs and teas. The pork rub and the steak rub are fantastic!

Connection Church is a non-denominational church with a simple mission; connect individuals to God, connect people to new friends, and connect the church to the community. We invite you to worship with us every Sunday from 10am to about 11:15am. The atmosphere is casual and inviting.
