Nasiyan Jain Temple

Reviewed By NILIMA_11 - Mumbai, India

A city of Ajmer in Rajasthan, India; is mainly famous for its Temples and tombs One of the famous Jain temples is known as Lal Mandir ( red temple) , which belongs to the earlier school of Jainism - known as Digamber sect. This temple is dedicated to the first Tirthankara - Rishabh dev . Next to the main temple is an old and beautiful haveli, turned into a museum. . It is exhibiting the life of Rishabh dev (adinath ), from his birth, renunciation, enlightenment to salvation, in a marvelous model called city of gold or swarna nagari. The remarkable detailed work of model city is gilded in gold with wooden framework from floor to ceiling including walls. This golden chamber of the temple uses 1000 kg of gold to carve out a depiction of Ayodhya. This unique and extra ordinary work was initiated by Seth Moolchand Soni, who was a Jain merchant. A small place brings in big surprises !! The museum is open daily between 6 am to 8 pm. There is an entrance fee. No footwear allowed in the temple or museum .

Nareli Jain Temple

Reviewed By drprshankar - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

The Nareli Jain temple is located on the National highway near Nasirabad Cantonment. I visited this amazing complex last August with my cousin Praveen and his son Sharan. The temple is extremely clean and is located away from the city. There are some amazing sculptures here. The main temple uses a mixture of styles and there are 23 miniature temples up the hill. You can drive nearly to the top and can get amazing views of the surroundings. We managed to catch a Sunset from the hill. There is an air of peace and tranquility here. A must see attraction near Ajmer.
