Top 10 Room Escape Games in Atlanta, Georgia (GA)

September 1, 2021 Darwin Bolte

Atlanta has been dubbed everything from the "capital of the new South" and "the next international city" to "the best place to do business." It's also a great place to visit. Fueled by the prosperity of local mega companies like Coca Cola and Holiday Inn, the prestige of hosting the 1996 Summer Olympic Games and the energy of young upwardly mobile types who have migrated to the city in droves - Atlanta is on fire. And this time it's a good thing. From world-class restaurants and a myriad of cultural attractions to a hip nightlife and sporting events galore, the city is cosmopolitan in every sense of the word. But Atlanta has also managed to maintain its historic character. Stop by the Atlanta History Center or visit the Martin Luther King Jr. Historical Site, a moving tribute to an American icon. Browse through the former home of famous author Margaret Mitchell or pop into the Jimmy Carter Library and Museum for details on the life and times of the former president and his family. Whether you choose modern urban endeavors or old southern pleasures, Atlanta will not disappoint.

The 100th escape room needs to be special and as it is also our second wedding anniversary, making it as part of our holiday was always the plan. The only concern we had was that generally in the States you are put into a bigger group if you are a pair, OR need to buy the whole set of tickets which are often 8-10!! BREAKOUT is different. Learning from Europe (where the games began) they offer exclusive booking, yes it's a little more in a pair (not 10 players worth though) and certainly good value especially when you consider what they have to offer. Breakout in Buckhead has a large selection of rooms and staff who are absolutely passionate about the escape experience, AND PLAY GAMES THEMSELVES (it's amazing how many gamesmasters don't these days!) We booked three games : Museum Heist (our 100th - fitting as our first was also the return of a stolen painting, back in 2015 in Oslo...also practically to the day too!), Casino Royale and Runaway Train. All three were very different - excellent within one centre. The setting of each was unique and completely immersive and the puzzles were extremely appropriate to set and story. Casino Royale and Runaway Train were a little more linear than Museum Heist - but had their own assets - Casino Royale includes the meta puzzle (overall puzzle within the game), and Runaway train is nicely physical as well. Also it wasn't 'death by padlock'. Yes there were locks but they were varied within themselves and how they could be opened...along with a number of other puzzles too of course. For the two of us there was tons to do and while we escaped each, we really had to work for it! We would definitely recommend Breakout - a little piece of the best of Europe's escapes with American flair. Thanks for a fantastic day.

The staff is kind and helpful and there’s even a mini bar if you wanna drink while solving puzzles! Def recommend!

Escape The Room Atlanta

Escape the Room is a fun, interactive live event located in the heart of downtown Atlanta. Find the hidden objects, figure out the clues and solve the puzzles to earn your freedom and "Escape the Room." You have 60 minutes, so be quick!

The Rec Room was a lot of fun, and our room master (or whatever the appropriate term is) Jonathan Smith did a fantastic job of keeping us engaged while also giving hints at appropriate times. The room is 80s themed and I was the only one in the room who was even alive in the 80s. Nonetheless, we still had a blast and most puzzles didn't require knowledge of 80s pop culture.

My group visited your Sandy Springs location yesterday and had a fabulous time!  We are a very experienced group with well over 50 games in 3 states and 6 cities and your facility ranks in the top 3.  I first of all want to commend Brady for doing an incredible job as our gamemaster.  We've come to realize that the gamemaster makes or breaks an experience.  Brady had all of the key components that make a gamemaster exceptional: enthusiasm, a thorough knowledge of the rooms, paid close attention to us the entire time , gave very appropriate clues leading us to solve things on our own, nudging instead of giving too much away, gave lots of positive encouragement and reinforcement, and he was very flexible to our time needs (we got stuck in horrible traffic before we arrived for our first game and a little early for our second game - both times he was gracious and accommodating) We did Bank Heist and Super Heros and both rooms were terrific.  They stayed true to their theme making them uniquely different, not too many locks, and lots of gadgety surprises.  Where you excel above every other room we've done is your pictures and videos!  I've always wanted to "look over the shoulder of a gamemaster" as he leads a room and this allowed us to do just that as he led OUR room.  Brady showed us the pictures and videos while we were there and I think he enjoyed watching them over again as much as we did seeing them for the first time.  We bought the drive and immediately watched them again as soon as we got home and laughed and laughed as we "re-lived" the room.   We will definitely return to do all your rooms!   Oh, and if you ever consider expanding please consider the Duluth/Buford/Cumming area. Thanks for all your effort in giving us a great experience,
