We recently had a very pleasant lunch at Royal River Grill House while visiting with family members who live near Portland and who have been to the restaurant many times.
Our table by the window allowed us to see what was going on outside on the water (not too much in early December!). The restaurant has a modern but nautical feel to it. Our server was very friendly and accommodating. She came right away to take drink orders but then gave us time to decide on our food order and told us there was no rush.
My husband decided on the pulled pork sandwich, which was huge and delicious, along with a disappointing side of cole slaw which he didn't finish. I chose the Autumn salad of Belgium endive, field greens, dried cranberries, candied walnuts, cheese curds, caramelized onions, and green apple with a maple vinaigrette that I got on the side. I added the grilled salmon, which was cooked perfectly. A truly deilcious salad!
Others had a reuben, a special colonial burger, and some other sandwich, all of which were huge. Everyone enjoyed the sandwiches, and most people had a half a sandwich to take home.
We enjoyed our meal and catching up on news with family members. The restaurant was a relaxing spot on a Monday at noon in early December! As we will be visiting Maine more often in the near future, we certainly will be back again for another meal.

They have wi-fi, many delicious muffins, croissants, rolls, etc accompany the many types of coffee from which you have. to choose. There are plenty of tables, chairs, outlets. It is most pleasurable to sit among the fine scents of coffee while working on the computer. Excellent - excellent atmosphere.

Where better to get ice cream than on a dairy farm where it is made? Toots has the best tasting ice cream and a riot of changing and adventurous flavors. The lines are sometimes a little long at peak hours but the service is fast, friendly and efficient. I think it is the customers that slow things down by taking time to figure out what they want and give orders with so many variations! The service is in a railroad caboose and there are animals to see so kids love the place.

We read the reviews and wanted to check out the fresh baked bread. We were not disappointed. Plenty of people waiting to get in the bakery when it opened. Plenty of different breads to select.

I ordered a medium vanilla cake with lemon curd filling, butter cream and toasted coconut. It was on pretty short notice - Wednesday to Pick up Saturday. They are closed on Sunday but will leave a product at the local coffee shop for pick up if one desires and that is that extra step they'll take for a custome.
I picked up the cake, about $39, and popped it in the refrigerator until dinner the next day and it was amazing- moist and really well flavored. Everyone loved it and I only had one piece left after the birthday party!

This is a good stop for lunch. Quick friendly service, very good sandwiches and a comfortable place to sit. I will certainly return to try some other things like their salads and mini meat loafs.

We are a small coffee shop and bakery. We make everything from scratch and take pride in everything we offer. We make espresso drinks and brew Coffee by Design.
We read about Maples' Bagels in the Portland Press Herald and were not disappointed when we stopped by for the first time yesterday. The Bagels and toppings were fresh and delicious. I also enjoyed their Nitro iced coffee. Service was friendly and fast however we were first in line when ordering. When we left, there were 15+ people waiting to order! Definitely a popular place. Looking forward to returning soon.

Mister Bagel is a franchise-we have been to excellent ones and some that were just fair. We went in late afternoon and the selections left were minimal. Yarmouth is only an hour from where we live so we expected the bagels to be somewhat fresh-not the case.

Typical Maine version of a "food truck" without wheels. Walk up, wait in line place your order, pick up and find a picnic table or "take with". Very popular, somewhat limited parking, especially if you are driving a motorhome. However, it worked. Lobster rolls were excellent, as reputed. Will try crab next time and there will be a next time.

If you like a healthy option that is made fresh on the spot then this is the place for you! I love their options and variety of blends. You can have added protein powders or other great pick me up alternatives to caffeine. I always ask for more spinach or kale because I like my smoothie to be thick more like a meal. Great find on Main St in Yarmouth next to the railroad tracks.
