While some chain establishments are hit or miss, this place fit the bill. DD coffee is usually always good, but the breakfast sandwiches here were really good too. The donuts are pretty consistent in every location from what I've seen. Even though there are young folks working here, they were quite sharp and on the ball. Order and paying was quick, as well as the food being ready.

I stop in for lunch every now and then when I am in the area, and always look forward to it. I have had some great wraps, paninni sandwiches, and of course fantastic cookies! A week ago or so, I stopped in and saw there was pizza which I had not seen there before. I tried a slice of the bacon and caramelized onion (I think it was); WOW! EVERYTHING about it was amazing!! So often people get the wrong (so to speak); but not here! WOW!

This is the 2nd time we've eaten at the LVB and it didn't disappoint. I called a few hours before to get a reservation and they only had a very early or a very late. I asked if I could just show up and get a table. He said it was first come, first serve. So my husband and I took our chances and arrived at 5:30 with no reservation. I was told by the hostess there were no tables available and our only option was the bar. We found two seats at the bar and had a wonderful dinner. First, the bartender was lovely. She was very sweet, very knowledgeable and a delight to talk to. We had the shrimp scampi and the fish and chips. We also had the crab cakes for an appetizer. The food was delicious, fresh and prepared perfectly. The prices are so reasonable! My fish and chips came with homemade pickles and they were the best pickles I have ever had. You can tell that the owner takes pride in each dish he prepares. The ambiance and professionalism of the wait staff is wonderful! I am so happy to have this little gem of a restaurant so close to home!

Wish I could have liberated everyone waiting in line across the street. We had a leisurely and delicious lunch, and saw many of the same ppl still waiting elsewhere when we left. You can vaguely see the line behind my bf's enormous half-eaten lobster roll.

Driving past on a rainy day, we thought we'd stop in for a quick lunch; the cafe was packed, but our server worked fast. Lobster soup and lobster roll for one, chicken soup and salad for another. Nice food, good coffee-- and a great location on the main street just before the bridge. Definitely a good place to stop.

Ordered full size box of scallops 14.99+tax. When ready, the bag was so light, I thought it was the half box. Found out it was the full box and that it is only 6 ounces.

I wanted my money back and they wouldn't give it to me.

positives - place looked clean, scallops were tasty, last visit for me!

Just a little, inconspicuous diner on busy Route # 1 in Wiscasset, Maine, - but what a treat to find this gem of a breakfast place with SPECTACULAR corned beef hash. I am a life-long pursuer of the perfect hash, and, dagnabbit , I think I have found it here. After sampling now over a half dozen trips as we make our way up and down the midcoast of Maine, I think this this might be the best hash I have had. The chef's secret? Well, like all good corned beef hash, it is made on the premises and the beef brisket is cooked overnight - they do 17 hours here. The result is unbelievable. On our last trip, I ordered a pound to take home so that I could parcel it out over the next week to get that perfect experience in my own kitchen. Bonus: character atmosphere and, if Matt is your waiter, you will get southern hospitality. Worth a visit!

We are staying here in the B and B. It is a lovely well-maintained old home built in the early 1700's. The chef grows vegetables in the back yard which he uses in his meals. He buys from local farmers and serves healthy meals. I can't wait for breakfast, where they make homemade yogurt and serve eggs just laid by their free-range hens that wander around the grounds.
