Takdir can be translated to mean 'luck' or 'destiny'. This Indian restaurant has been running successfully under the same ownership since 1979. Mamzy and Suff have taken over from their father of the day to day running of the business. With them around they make it a very calm, easy and relaxed atmosphere to be in. They do whatever they can to make your experience memorable and make you feel like... your at home away from home. Takdir is perfectly situated on East Parade, as it looks out onto the sea and after a windswept walk, or even drive along the seafront it can be quite inviting.
To the Takdir on Thursday night for a meal with the Missus. First time to the newly refurbished Takdir, and I have to say it looks as swish as its sister restaurant, the Gulshan in Tynemouth. In many respects the new Takdir is a clone of the Gulshan, and that's no bad thing. The menu is the same; the staff are both young, efficient and friendly, and the whole experience a pleasure. Both are run by the same brothers.
Although it was a Thursday night we opted for the a la carte menu rather than the specials one (although there's nothing wrong at all with the special menu, I just fancied a special that wasn't available).
Everything was very good.. my wife had a sizzling tandoori dish and I had the "staff Handi", which is , unusually, served on the bone. Pickles/poppadoms/side dishes etc all very good.
When the building and refurbishment of the Promenade is finished, the Takdir will afford views out to sea through its large plate-glass windows, which will be pleasant of an evening, but is it more pleasant than the views of Tynemouth Front Street and Castle from the Gulshan?
With these two retaurant you pays your money and you take your choice.

Award-winning, authentic Indian cuisine
Absolutely fantastic!!! Could not fault food, service or atmosphere. Very busy but plenty of staff to see to customers. Nice little birthday touches making it special. Super value . Would definitely suggest booking. Look forward to next visit, soon.

We were out on a treat day out and popped into The Beehive for lunch.
A lovely find. It’s a traditional rustic pub with fantastic food. There are three rooms. One exclusively for people with dogs. There’s blankets for the dogs.
There is a good range of food on the menu and it really is lovely.
They take bookings for the dog lounge and for bookings of groups of 6 or more in other rooms.
For visitors in summer there is a secret garden that’s likely to be a hit with the children.

I've been meaning to write a review of The Cottage Kitchen for a while, now we have also sampled week day lunches as well as their Sunday roasts I feel well qualified to do so! The cafe offers brilliant value, beautifully cooked traditional style meals. The meats for the roasts are always tender with fresh vegetables cooked to perfection and a huge amount for the low prices you pay. I prefer quality over quantity but here you get both, food is cooked with an eye to detail and the trained skill and care that you might not expect at first glance in this simple, unpretentious & spotlessly clean cafe. The owners take great pride in their food and everything we've tried has been delicious and properly home made. Husband loves the steak, I've tried the mince and leek dumplings, wonderful. You'll not get a more friendly welcome or a better taste of home in Whitley - highly recommended.

We popped in with our baby on a Friday lunchtime after a walk down the sea front
It offers a nice change from fish and chips along the sea front. Child friendly and relaxed
It's small inside but there are also a few tables outside. The staff were great. Really friendly
We had Panninis which were tasty but we'd try the tapas next time.
Lovely coffee and chocolate milkshake.

Honest food in the heart of Whitley Bay. Garden to plate/nose to tail with a great soundtrack. Good Food Guide 2018
We went for a Chinese meal, which was far more subtle and sophisticated than this description often implies, The tastes were distinctive and our whole meal provided us with experiences which were new and memorable. The service was excellent - and we look forward to our next visit!

A beautiful traditional village pub with a sun trapped beer garden and serving meals all day. Come and try our traditional Indian Curry every Tuesday and Wednesday. Every Thursday we have a Steak Night. Tapas on Friday and Saturday. Sunday roasts go down a treat for all ages.
Rang to check availability & table set aside for us, it was really busy, but person I spoke with informed us this would be the case with the match being aired. Great first impressions, menus presented quickly, orders taken, staff very pleasant, balsamic vinegar provided for salad, the food was nice but unsure what my mince was as it certainly wasn’t beef & the dumpling was mere mush, I don’t recall seeing anything on the menu suggesting it wouldn’t be beef, the gammon was delicious but dad struggled to cut it so I requested a steak knife, with all the good reviews I was keen to try it out but should have left it for another day when the football wasn’t on as it was too loud & dad had his chair knocked several times. There were 4 meals & we waited 35 minutes for them to be served, the chicken was a tad over cooked, I acknowledged I didn’t say anything at the time though as we were in a rush to get to our show.

Ethical Heathy vegetarian, Vegan and gluten Free Juice cafe at the coast. Serving up sweet and savoury dishes alongside fresh cold pressed juices, OCC Coffee, leaf teas, all of our foods are made in house so we know every ingredient. We have a a Seating area to suit all from cosy booths to window study stools with free wifi or why not bask in our outside inside space which soaks up the sunlight in our south facing yardon where we grow fresh herbs and edible flowers to enhance our dishes we even have some outdoor tables too.
My other half found this place using trip advisor, initially I was sceptical being a carnivore, but went with it. I wasn't disappointed at all (which is unusual for me) I loved the quirkiness of the lay out and the relaxed atmosphere that has been...MoreThank you so much for your review... it means a lot that our customers actually get what we are trying to achieve here at Pulp fiction... it’s all about choice, freshness and of course health ... hope to see you again soon xx

Been here a few times now and the food is consistently good, lovely gin menu, ambience and staff. Please start taking bookings for less than 5 people! So annoying though when you turn up looking forward and you get turned away as too busy and there’s nowhere else half decent to go nearby. I like to plan my evenings! Also they need a website. Not all folk are on social media.
