Having eaten at Big Sky sporadically over the past few years, I have always been impressed with the consistent food quality, service and value and ambience in this converted house. The weekly updated menu has classic dishes and daily “rush hour” specials based on seasonal...MoreBill, we appreciate the detailed 5 star review! The crust is crispy but tasty. The toppings were very good. Even the Caesar dressing was very good. The order was ready when promised. What more can you ask from a pizza place?

I have a severe garlic intolerance. So, why go to an Italian restaurant? Because my husband likes Italian food and I heard Maggiano's accommodates people with food allergies....and indeed they do!! The waitress brought Chef Brian to our table, where he ask me about my food issues and then suggested several options and how he might prepare them for me. He "custom created" my food. Everything I ate was fabulous and without repercussions. Although I could not eat their pasta dishes, I had flavorful choices.

An Italian restaurant acclaimed for it's amazing and authentic Italian dishes and perfect wine pairings.
Recently I was in St. Louis on business and one evening strolled Forsyth Blvd in Clayton and found myself following my nose. It led me to a quaint little place on a corner with 5 or 6 tables outside the entrance. I found my way inside and asked for a table for one. I was met with a blank stare while the young hostess processed the fact that I was dining alone and seemed to be okay with it. :) Ah youth. So much to learn. I was seated immediately and ordered a suggested red wine which was yummy. I wish I had written down the vintage. Sorry. I glanced around over the top of my menu to spy what others were eating. Everywhere I looked tables were enjoying beautiful plates with multiple samples of various courses. Not wanting to eat so much, I opted for the Beet Salad and Tagliatelle with Pork Ragu. My Irish grandmother used to make pickled beets for my German grandfather. I was drawn in by the deep purple color and hooked by the sweet, tart taste. As an adult I have come to love roasted beets; their earthly taste, mildly sweet and still the amazing deep purple. The salad filled the small plate with precisely cut roasted cubes of fresh beet, topped with locally sourced goat cheese, toasted sunflower seeds and lightly sprinkled with sherry vinegar and mirco greens. It was the perfect summer salad. It was promptly followed by Tagliatelle freshly made and sauced with a rich, home style Ragu with pork, tomatoes and peppers. While it was a lovely, delicious meal, I could not help but overhearing the two gentlemen behind me RAVE about the courses of their "Tasting Meal". Per the menu is $50 per person and looks and smells worth every penny. Next time, I will take my husband and we will fast for the entire day so we can savor every bite.
The dining room is small and appears to fill up quickly, even on a week night. There is also a small private dining room in the back and the evening I was there a birthday celebration was taking place. Everyone seemed to know each other so I am guessing a group of neighborhood regulars which is a lovely thing.

We specialize in Wood Fired Pizza, slow smoked BBQ and offer a wonderful selection of local craft beer on tap.
This place is a must try!! The house margarita on the rocks with salt is yummy! The Wood Fired BBQ baby back ribs fall off the bone. This comes in an appetizer or main entree. The in house made BBQ sauce is amazing. The broccoli...MoreJill, thanks for the great review! We are thrilled that you enjoyed all of the food that you sampled upon your most recent visit! Featuring local "farm to table" food using a breadth of farmer in the Missouri and Illinois communities. When asked to define of The Crossing, Owner/Executive Chef Jim Fiala often says that he is a chef that buys locally whenever possible and cooks as any French and/or Italian chef would given the ingredients sourced. Joining Jim is Chef Matt Abeshouse who brings a wealth of passion and expertise in classic French cuisine to the kitchen. Our food is fresh, organic (whenever possible), seasonal and by design very simple. The Crossing stays true to classic techniques and the chefs love showing off their skills and passion for elegant food.
OK. Broken record. Another stellar review. New Year's Eve, limited menu, but it didn't matter. This fantastic restaurant has withstood the test of time and risen to the top of what St. Louis has to offer in the food department.
It is expensive, yes, but it's one of those places that really is worth a splurge. You can listen to the concierge hype about other local high-end eateries, but I say skip the overblown Italian place downtown and allow yourself to be spoiled here. You can thank me later.
This visit we were offered the opportunity to add shaved black truffle to any of our dishes, so we split a portion to complement our pasta course. Wow.

Amazing Ice cream place, phone number: 314.962.2700
I have taken my two boys to this ice cream haven on special occasions and each time they find a new favorite flavor. Quality is excellent and no matter what the weather is, it just puts a smile on your families face. Explore and try one of the unusual ones because you never know when you will find a creation that is even better than what you thought was your fav. If you are exploring St. Louis you might want to try this place. The nice thing about exploring St. Louis is that most places only take about 20 minutes to get to. Especially with GPS these days.

Charming bakery in the heart of the Hill (St. Louis's historic Italian neighborhood). They have Italian pastries, German pastries, and more! They have freshly baked bread, sweets, cakes - everything you can think of! A friend and I visited on a Sunday morning when the Hill is quiet, and we were helped right away! The employees there that morning answered all the questions we had about the pastries we weren't familiar with and they were very helpful! They're cash only, but they have an ATM set up where you can get cash and they'll give the change for a $1.50 fee. My friend and I both left with boxes so that we could take a little bit of St. Louis home with us!

Ted Drewes is closed for the season and will re-open on February 11, 2016.... Could you please update this information on our Trip Advisor Page.... Thank you
I was driving around St Louis on a Saturday night with a friend and he mentioned he wanted to try this frozen custard place called Ted Drewes. We arrived 9:30pm with no expectations and were flabbergasted to see a crowd of three or four hundred people lining up at the shop windows. The queue moved quickly and it wasn't long before my tastebuds savoured the deliciously creamy frozen banana custard, not dissimilar to soft serve ice cream. We ate our custard cups in the carpark, made friends with some locals and couldn't resist returning once again the following evening. Ted Drewes is definitely a St Louis institution.

Milagro Modern Mexican serves chef inspired, regional Mexican cuisine in Historic Old Webster Groves. Our extensive tequila bar is known it's for creative cocktails and local craft beer selection.
My friend and I had lunch here yesterday. It was our first time dining here. I had the lunch special which was two tacos which had scallops, whole slices of avocado, and cabbage. These tacos were incredible! They were served with a side of cilantro rice which was quite good. The tacos were average size but the rice serving was huge. My friend had the vegetarian taco. She liked hers as well. The service was very good. I will definitely be back!
