Great restaurant at Le Cote Vert hotel. They always have new dishes, plus keep a good list of classics in the menu (e.g. T Bone steak), just in case!
They start with an apetizer, then a soup, first course, main dish and desert. Totally worth it on each and every occasion I have eaten there (many). The meat is excellent, both the beef and the lamb. On the side dishes you can always go for the frites maison, or try something else - salad, or whatever the chef has chosen for each dish, you won´t be disappointed.
Desert, although I am not a big fan of them in general, have been good. There´s always a chocolate option, that, in my many visits, has always been great (souffle, mouse, cake, etc).
The maitre is well versed in wines, if in doubt, you can fully trust him.

This is my second visit here, and the service and food is great. Owner (?) and waiters speak english. Fresh food made from the bottom, and the duck tasted like nothing i have ever tasted before, exciting and spicy! One in the party is vegetarian...MoreThank you very much to take time to put this laudatory comment, all the team and myself we thank you. See you soon we hope Gérard LACHARRIERZ

Sit down for dinner where history saw the birth of Europe... Within reach of the cannon of the Waterloo battlefield and the famous Lion, Martin's Grand Hotel pays tribute to the fathers of European history, like Napoleon, Wellington and Blucher... Giving the hotel's friendly bar and delectable restaurant an extraordinary soul and charm.
So there we went again, on a Sunday night where potentially preferred choices were not open.
The restaurant in in a vaulted room that was part of a sugar factory that apparently never operated as such. By lack of water, talk about planning. But anyway, room is quite nice.
Service very good. We liked the food but we good the feeling that there was a bit of a problem with salt, with some components of most dishes overly salty, while overall the dishes were OK. We still enjoyed our dinner.
Place is not cheap BTW. Appears that the default language is English, not French. Probably because the restaurant caters mostly to hotel customers.

very small restaurant, look like "table d'hôte", the lady who serve us was friendly and she told us her husband was the cooker?? We appreciate the food, very correctly done But the atmosphere was little bit too quiet, you go there for eating not for going out

We had lunch yesterday, 3 people. From outside it looks very small, bit it is rather bis, enough for 50/60 people.
Their speciality is fresh pasta and we took the assortment of
4 different types. It was really good.
Nice decoration, but too much noise, they should do something here !

This is my favourite restaurant in Waterloo. Service is very professional and always polite, English is a little issue but enough staff members can help ou. The language to order is well worth the food, excelent Italian cuisine. The setting is perfect for any occasion...MoreHello Crawford, Thank you very much for taking the time to write this review. We ate at the Philippe Meyers restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday. That was an excellent choice. We were lucky enough to taste the "asparagus festival". Marvellous.
All dishes were perfect and with a special asparagus aroma, We will definitely rremember the asparagus sorbet. The two waitress were really professional. They managed to change the dessert for a great sabayon

We went for dinner with friends based on the excellent reviews on this forum. Ambiance was OK but nothing special. There was only one other table occupied, which was not a good sign. Philip Meyers at the other side of the street was much more busy ( and rightfully as we clearly prefer this restaurant). We ate a la carte. Service was very good and no complaints from this side. Food however, except for the Deserts, were nothing really special. I had the bass as an appetiser and wild boar for main dish. Both were nothing special. My wife had the salmon gravlax, which turned out not to be very fresh ( and an upset stomach as a consequence) and the tilapia. One friend had the same, and the other one had the pintade Polish style ( and which was very good). The pannacotta on the other hand was excellent. Bill came out not that cheap. Ŵe clearly prefer the competitor at the other side of the street and will not go back here!

L'Accent Catalan has opened its Tapas and Wine Bar in Waterloo to bring a little Sunshine into gourmet dining. The entire staff is looking forward to welcoming you.
We went back to this restaurant after a couple of years and were frankly very very disappointed. The level has dropped to Lunch-Garden-food quality at prices of Villa Lorraine. Although the staff tries to be friendly, what you get in your dish does not match with the level of pricing on the bill. Even worse, when you order a dessert, you get not what is mentioned on the menu: some items are missing and replaced by cheap Belgian chocolats. When complaining about this, we got a lot of excuses but no satisfactory answers. Fazit: There are a lot of better places to spend your hard-earned money in Waterloo.
