I had the chili burger. Very good! This is a no nonsense diner with great prices, good food and friendly service. We were brought there by some locals who know the owner. The place was crowded, but we got seated fairly quickly.

Great little shop with very personable folks. Spent time with great people, wonderful baked goods, fab coffee and wonderful ice cream. We had a great time and enjoyed the eclipse with the staff!!!!

Already listed as hotel (La Plaza Inn) but this is also a restaurant so it should be listed as both a hotel and a restaurant, or have a separate restaurant listing so that people who pass by and want a meal (like we did) also can find it.
Staying in Walsenburg and looking for a nice place to eat. This was a 'find' on a quiet side street downtown. The Library Café Restaurant is inside the La Plaza historic Bed and Breakfast Hotel and is lovingly cared for (by Karen Wilson, since 2010) as such a gem should be.
We had some delicious red trout served on bed of whole grains. It was the special of the day. I was impressed, I didn't know trout could be red, or so good. Fresh, light, and flaky, it seemed to melt in one's mouth.
And then a slice of spice cake with egg nog frosting. That was also a tasty treat.
The restaurant's party room was host to a large office party that night; the hostess said it was the biggest night of the year for them. Nevertheless, and despite how busy the wait staff was, service to the other non-party goers was attentive and timely. We did not have reservations and we did not wait long on this mid-week night.
And then because it was December, the dining room, reception, and bar areas, were decorated with Christmas lights and beautiful trees.
The restrooms are good and ample free parking is in a lot across the street.
If you visit, you will not be sorry. There are not a lot of other decent choices in Walsenburg; this one is worth your time.
The guest check at the end was reasonable as well.

Mike's, a longtime landmark for this traveler, has recently changed hands. I'm happy to say the coffee is just as good, and the new owners are serving yummy homemade baked goods and hearty, savory lunch plates. Skip the chains and make your way into town for excellent local flavor(s).

Arrived on 06/18, and decided to stop and get some ice cream on a hot near Summer Saturday. Selection was good, and it is a fairly large store. When I went to pay for my 1 item, I was stuck behind some people that were shopping for a week, or party, or something. One register was open, and there were a couple of other people with one or two items. Eventually a second register opened, and I paid for my ice cream. Perhaps it was the timing on that day. Although the experience was so-so, The ice cream didn't melt and is being enjoyed to this day.

Sunday about five in the afternoon we got quick, efficient, accurate service. As we expected, the large, charbroiled burgers were hot and tasty, and the fries and onion rings nice and hot. The two self-service soda machines dispensed a larger than typical array (even cherry coke). But on this moderately warm afternoon, the restaurant interior was overly air-conditioned to the point I was tempted to go back to the car for a jacket. Still, for travelers going through town, it's likely the best fast-food option.

Wonderful small town breakfast and lunch spot. Appears to be family run, but if not they act like family. Food was well prepared, large portions, and just a delight. Highly recommend for a casual breakfast or lunch

Decided to eat here based on reviews. Quaint "hole in the wall" style restaurant, which usually do not disappoint. Our server was borderline rude: one person in our party was trying to order and the server was carrying on a conversation with a guest at another table. Very slow service - had to flag someone down and ask for everything. Food was mediocre, burrito was lukewarm but the green chili sauce was tasty.

Sarti's bar is a very old bar which my uncles and father used to visit in the 40's and 50's. They referred to it as "the Club". Apparently, code? Tom Nye is the current owner, and is keeping it as much original as possible. It has the original bar, and bar back, along with the tin ceilings that has a patina of smoke from the "old days". Tom and Misty are great bartenders, and the patrons are welcoming. Recently, it was the music venue for a band from San Antonio, the "Barnyard Stompers". Really fun night!

This little restaurant is very busy. The food was good and the staff was extremely friendly. It seems to be a local hangout.
