No 5 star restaurant but has been around many, many years selling good wholesome family cuisine. Not that many tables so you may have to wait but has good bar. Lots of interesting memorability on the walls and great cap selection on the ceiling, you may want to donate one if you have one that's different.

This inviting old Fashion Ice Cream parlor is sweet, charming and has tasty ice cream. They also have a full deli sandwich menu including a Veggie menu.
We took our ice cream outside and sat along the Sacramento River on the stairs of the dock. (see photo of dock)

Steamboat Landing is a delightful new spot in the Sacramento Delta, a half hour from downtown Sacramento. It serves sandwiches and baked goods, plus a good cup of coffee. The building is brand new, although I understand it is built on the site of a long-established restaurant. The atmosphere is country charming, although contemporary. It's an order-at-counter place, but the counter staff were friendly and helpful.
I visited just after opening time, so I went for an organic pear tart and coffee, and bought a bottle of local wine for later. Excellent wine, by the way ... and I thought California wine just came from Napa or Sonoma valley!
I discovered Steamboat Landing while driving along the Sacramento River road. It was before their official grand opening, and I look forward to visiting again.

Where do I start? Fun bartenders, fun patrons, food is OUT of this world, and you can throw dollar bills on the ceiling with thumbtacks. The burger is one of the best I've had. They had garlic fries and the drinks are made with love. This was such an amazing place, you must stop in and try the burger!

16 of us paddled/launched from Wimpy's Marina on New Year's Day. They only charge $5 and have access to launch directly into the Mokelumne River. After several hours of paddling we were hungry! They sat our entire group without reservations and even split the check for us. Our waitress was awesome, friendly and never missed a beat. The food was good and well priced. We will definitely be going back again.

I went with two friends for Sunday Brunch-We Loved It. From the wonderful gentlemen concierge
to the great waiters-it was a very enjoyable day. The food was very good and the Mimosa's were
non-stop, We really enjoyed that they let you look at some of the guest rooms and the beautiful
downstairs. The grounds are gorgeous. A great hidden gem and Sunday drive getaway!

We come here once a year with a group of 5 families-yep, lots of kids!!!! The owner is very nice, greets us with a smile and puts up with our noisy bunch! The pizza is awesome, the service is good and we appreciate having this place to go to. We usually arrive just in time for a soccer match or playoff of some sort. They have TVs inside and serve beer. Not a very large place but has a great location right on the main road. We hit the ice cream place next door afterward:)

Interestingly this is an authentic-operating Chinese restaurant in the Historical Rural Chinese Settlement of Locke, California. It is operated by a wonderful Chinese couple, who originated from China and their two children. The restaurant is located in one of the many historical wooden buildings which make up the historical settlement. It definitely provides its patrons a glimpse into Locke's past. Would highly recommend it, if you're in the area, and I would definitely return to dine here when I am in the area.

There are not many choices for meals in Walnut Grove, but Tony's place is near the top of the pecking order. Their menu is very limited to selections, but it does offer salads, burgers and a few other choices. Most come with a side of beans, fries or salad. Beer is available with several tap selections. The staff is quite friendly and provide excellent service. If you want a wider menu choice and more than just something to match your bar beverage order go elsewhere. If you are content with a ample but simple meal, Tony's Place will do fine.

4 of us stopped here for breakfast on a Monday morning after spending a weekend in nearby Isleton. Clearly the waitress is accustomed to local customers who sit at the counter, which I would have done if it had been just myself or my wife and I, but with 4 you really need to sit at a table. I'm not saying our waitress was unfriendly to us, she was actually very warm and pleasant. But mostly she got so caught up in visiting with her regulars that she kind of forgot we were over there. So, things moved a little slowly. But, it was a lazy river/delta morning, the birds were singing, so we didn't really care.
The food, when it came out, was really good. I had breakfast burritos, which were tasty with eggs, sausage, peppers and cheese; Quite generous also, half of it came home with me. Another of us had the breakfast burrito with bacon and also said it was very good. My wife wasn't very hungry and ordered toast and a half order of hash browns and said they were nicely cooked, not greasy. The 4th person had an omelet and thought it was good. We definitely would come back if we are out in the delta again.
Don't come for the atmosphere though! Mostly the tables, chairs, dishes and silverware have been around for a while, and have a worn out feel. Bare basics. If you want cute, go to Mimi's. But the food won't be as good. ;)}
