The Common Man Restaurant is located in Warren, Vermont, in the heart of Mad River Valley, between Lincoln Peak and Mount Ellen. Sited in a 19th century barn, the dining room is elegant in its simplicity. With hand-hewn beams framing an open hearth fireplace, the 100-seat restaurant is inviting and intimate. Since the original owners, the Orsini family, opened their doors in the 1960s, 3209 German Flats Road has been a popular place for locals, visitors, and skiers to gather for a quality Vermont dining experience. Now in its fourth generation of operation, the current owners, Chef Adam Longworth and Lorien Wroten, are working hard to re-energize this Vermont dining institution with small town hospitality and world class cuisine.
Wonderful atmosphere. Food was amazing. Extensive wine list. Service was friendly and attentive. We were a party of 7 and ordered several of the dishes. The desserts were fabulous.

Rustic French and Italian
I was day-tripping from Boston and had memories of good restaurants in Waitsfield. Picked up Peasant from Trip Advisor and was not disappointed. I was surprised to find Escargot on the menu. Had to have that. And, they had great bread. My wife had the bolognese and I had the wild mushroom risotto. The bolognese was really good, it had a hint of cinnamon that really gave the sauce a unique flavor. I found this out as the cook made the rounds of the tables. Nice. More than enough food for the two of us. They were light on the servings of wine by the glass. Since I was driving, that was good. We had no room for dessert. If in the area, I'll be back

Lovely little spot on the river for casual get together, hanging out and sitting by the river. Nice coffee, cold drinks, ice pops and snacks. Just wish the staff were more friendly.

Best pizza on earth. Lovely Vt country ambience, fantastic attentive service, what's NOT to love?! Eat outside and the kids can run and play barefoot on the soft emerald green lawn wwhile the pizza is prepared. Real Vermont at its finest.

This cafe offers excellent sandwiches and wraps for lunch, as well as other dishes such as soups. The staff is very friendly and the service is somewhat slower but definitely reasonable, because all food is freshly prepared. There's plenty indoor seating available and plenty parking available on the village square.

The Warren Store is a unique Vermont general store with a professional bakery, breakfast kitchen deli, provisions as well as wine & craft beer shop with a retail clothing and toy store upstairs.
Their roastbeef sub melts in your mouth, literally, and all their other food choices, including pretty eclectic ones, are tastefully and caringly prepared. Pretty friendly employees and nice surroundings make this a wonderful spot.

This place is adorable, but the cupcakes tasted kind of fake to me. Almost like they were from a mix. The frosting also had a chemical aftertaste to it. I'll admit it - I'm picky. But I just hate to waste carb-calories on anything less than amazing.

This was once a lovely location that has been seriously neglected. It is the little things that matter. Furniture on the front porch was all falling apart, rug at entry needed replacing, silverware tarnished, television in The Lodge room where we stayed kept shutting itself off. To top things off one night the outside temp was only 26 and our heat did not work. Nothing was up to standards for a Relais and Chateaux inn. Just terrible, we even changed our flight home to earlier just to get out of this horrible place

A great spot to stay and just minutes to Mad River Glen and Sugarbush. P.S. We love what we do!
friendly atmosphere and very good food from a menu with lots of variety. We had a party of 8 including two children and all the dishes ordered arrived promptly and hit the spot. Our waiter, John, was both friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. I had the penne pasta with shrimps and my wife had the salmon - both were excellent. Prices were reasonable too .

**Reopening in December**
We decided to go because of the good reviews and the hype. No need to ever go back. We had an older waitress that was not very pleasant. The food is over priced and portions are small. The flavor was lacking. There are much better choices in the area.
