Fast Food Ice cream
This fast food place is in my hometown. I have bought burgers here for many years, although I liked it better before it changed its exterior and moved down the street, it still serves one of the best cheeseburgers with bacon I have eaten. Also the baguettes can be recommended and the milkShake.

Stopped here for lunch on a rainy day. The place was almost empty in the afternoon so the service was fast and the food was quite tasteful. Nice outdoor Seating area overlooking Volda harbor. Should be a popular place to enjoy a cold beer when the sun is out.

Maria's has a cosy and friendly atmosphere, reflecting the owner Maria herself. The food is excellent and reasonably priced with portion sizes designed to make you explode. As I usually do because the food is too delicious to push away when you're full. The steaks almost melt in your mouth. My only wish is that it wasn't a 'dry' restaurant but understand that it is to encourage a family friendly atmosphere so fair enough :) In the summer there is a small Seating area outside that is out of the wind and catches the sun where you can smoke. I love this place.

We stumbled across Fru Svendsen's Kulturekafe by accident since the other TripAdvisor listings were shut and we needed lunch. It was a big hit for us! There's lots to like but what sticks most with us is the lovely atmosphere - this is clearly the place local Norwegians of Orsta visit when they want to spend time with their friends and enjoy a coffee, cake or waffles. Folk come in, greet acquaintances and settle down for a chat - very civilised, very sweet, very informal and very Norwegian!
The café sits along the traffic free main street in Orsta in an elevated position. There are a couple of tables outside and then at least three rooms inside, each with a slightly different feel. This place was Fru Svendsen's family home some time in the past and the owners have maintained the homely atmosphere by keeping a mid-20th century feel to the place and late-Victorian décor. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you - the staff were excellent, properly trained and speak lovely English. They take cards and cash.
There are some light lunch options, including omelettes and lots of cakes. Prices are typically Norwegian and, by their standards, the cost was mainstream. The washroom is through a maze of doors in the house and off the hallway by the stairs. It's all very authentic, clean and quaint.
We enjoyed our stay very much. It felt a million miles from the tourist traps of other more picturesque towns and, in some ways, better for it. My only sadness is that the planning authorities of this town have granted permission for three covered shopping malls. One, by the waterfront, has clearly had the effect of drawing almost all of the retail outlets and footfall away from the main street. While this doesn't affect the wonderful experience of this café, it does leave the street outside looking like a bit like the Marie Celeste.
Anyway, thanks to the team at Fru Svendsen - we enjoyed our time with you.
Recommended.

Georgios cellar is one of the best restaurants in Volda with a very service minded owner who likes to interact with his guests.
The food tastes great and for a fleeting moment you can almost envision yourself in Greece.
It is seldom to see any one trying something else than an Italian restaurant in Volda and Ørsta so this feels like a welcome change. And I was surprised to find that I really enjoyed the Greek cuisine.
I can recommend this restaurant and you will not regret your decision of eating here

God og variert julemat, men litt i minste laget kokt svineribbe. Dessertbordet var etter mi meining litt mangelfullt. Koseleg lokale og flink betjening.
