A different restaurant, stylish with more international cuisine. Staff is professional however, sometimes a bit 'pushing'. Give your guests some time to settle and study the menu and wine
list and never bring the bill to the table when your guests have not asked for it! This happened to us while we actually wanted to order a glass of local brandy with a second cup of coffee!

PROS
- Family run restaurant: excellent and traditional food;
- Food quality: it's easy to notice that all the products are high quality;
- Reasonable price, mains to 2 persons around 20€.
- Good variety of desserts and starters, I suggest to invest some time and money in some good starts and reserve same space in the stomach for a good dessert.
CONS
- Menu variety: To me is not a problem, but for who is expecting a menu with lots of options, this restaurant has only just a few options, daily changing.
DO I WILL RETURN?
- Can happen!

I love the service, the ambience and the food. They always do justice to the food.
Must-try:
1. Torrada (the bread with hazelnuts is my favourite)
2. Milkshakes
3. Fresh juices
4. Cold tea
5. The salmon Sandwich
It is an ideal place for a Sunday brunch.

Nice, quiet and non expensive place serving thin wood oven pizzas. Some ingredients would be better if fresh like the mushrooms and pineapple but in the end we pay a reasonable price for what they make. The fresh salad (lettuce and carrot) and the garlic bread was also nice.
To eat in place or take away.

I was recommended this place by a local driver, who told me I wouldn't get a better steak Sandwich anywhere in the world.
When we arrived, we had to wait for a table because it was rammed with locals. Which is a good sign.
Sat down and were handed a Portuguese menu. Every option starts with 'Prego de Lombo' which translates as 'loin claw' on google. It actually means 'steak sandwich' so don't panic. I also found out after spending AGES looking for the word 'bife' (beef, duh), that they actually also have English menu's. I must look like a local.
Anyway, the Sandwich was great (bits of mine were a teeeeeeny bit chewy, but my parter's was perfect), the wedges and dips were lovely and the beer was cold. Win win win. I don't technically agree with the driver though, I've had better.
The service was pretty slow though, and the waiter forgot to bring us our second round of drinks which was a bummer. He didn't really seem to care either.
I recommend getting here before you're really hungry, because if it's busy, you're in for a bit of a wait.
Also they don't take credit/debit card, unless you're lucky enough to have a Portuguese bank account. I am not and had to go for a wander.

You have a choice of 4 courses at 28 euros or 6 courses at 35 euros.
Each dish was amazing and I am from San Francisco area and there the same dinner would be at least 100 dollars per person. It compares to a one star Michelin at home.
The service was also excellent

Duho Restaurante

Rated #1, itappealed to us based on terrific reviews. We clicked on the website in TripAdvisor which took us to the Facebook page of the restaurant and from there to their menu.
The place is hard to find -- off the beaten path and with poor signage. If you go, its because you made the effort as you will not stumble onto this place. We had almost given up, crawling Don Joan IV street when we finally found it --- a nice stone building.
Service is top of the line - somewhat stiff but in line with the establishment. The restaurant is small.
The food was excellent - and fresh. We had the sautéed mushroom with eggplant as a starter - yummy and well prepared. We decided to order 1/2 portion of lamb and veal -- the lamb was delicious, along with the potatoes au gratin. The veal - we find to be overcooked and tough - an unfortunate detail.
Note that the menu on Facebook is not updated -- My Mission was to have their octopus which was listed on the menu on line ---
This restaurant is a safe bet for a good meal --
