Vincennes is a city in and the county seat of Knox County, Indiana, United States. It is located on the lower Wabash River in the southwestern part of the state, nearly halfway between Evansville and Terre Haute. Founded in 1732 by French fur traders, notably, François-Marie Bissot, Sieur de Vincennes for whom the Fort was named, Vincennes is the oldest continually inhabited European settlement in Indiana and one of the oldest settlements west of the Appalachians.

Wonderful desserts, soups, and sandwiches
I took the slogan painted on the wall to heart ("Life is uncertain. Eat dessert first.") so, I had coffee and "Chocolate Bar ala mode". I thoroughly enjoyed the dessert and the ambiance of this cafe. The meals sound excellent too. I will have to come back.

This great little out-of-the-way place in Vincennes has amazing food. Local business people know how great it is because the place is usually very full at lunchtime. I have had their plate lunches and their burgers. My cheeseburger was the best I have ever had anywhere and their spinach salad with warm bacon dressing was great. I haven't had breakfast there yet but have been told that their eggs Benedict is wonderful. The waitresses are always friendly and helpful. If you are in the area you must try this place.

I absolutely love impressed, I get coffee from their almost 3 times a week. But here lately every one of my to go cups has cracks in the lid. Big enough cracks where I have spilt it all over my shirt. Very frustrating, such great coffee such a disappointment in the quality of the cups.

Good breadsticks and sauce. Small but OK salad bar.Not too expensive. Allow time if you order deep dish. Wish we would have asked them to bring out thin crust when ready and then we could have started on that while waiting for deep dish.

Procopio's recently renovated a building in downtown Vincennes located on historic 2nd Street. We have tripled our seating, offer a party room that is available to rent and a wine and beer bar. We are handicap accessible and have handicap restrooms. Procopios also offers catering, delivery and carry out. Our parking is available on side streets, Pavilion parking (which is less than a block away and is covered). We recently added steaks to our menu and are serving them on Wednesday's from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. But we also offer our full menu and are open until 10 p.m. on Wednesday's.
The best pizza I've ever tasted...love the slightly sweet sauce. All of the authentic Italian dishes are great. Service is prompt and friendly, and Procopio is usually talking with the customers (when he has time).

The food here has always been consistently delicious. My favorite choice for lunch is the Turkey Wrap with mango chutney, paired with their tomato basil soup. I have tried other selections which were also very tasty, but I always revert back to my favs. When you order coffee (which I always do), it is served fresh in a French press, and it is excellent! I have only eaten here at lunch, but if the quality of the dinner entrees is anything like the lunch, I'm sure it's worth the trip.

I have eaten at Gilberts on previous stays and the food was just as good this time around. Thank you!

Includes German food, it is a buffet and catering business.
The clerk at an antique mall told us we would enjoy this place, and she was sure right! It's not just a BBQ place, in fact the BBQ is secondary to the rest of the buffet. The fried chicken is outstanding, as is the fried fish and shrimp. The vegetables and other sides are also good, not to mention the well stocked salad bar. After we finished our dinner, the waitress offered pie or cake, with ice cream, also part of the meal. Lots of good food, well prepared and served.

Here is my original review from 2013: Honestly, I didn't like it. The waitress wasn't very friendly or very good, and the food was poor. The place is cool looking kind of since its "old thyme" but still. The food was priced a little too high for me especially since it wasn't worth it!
Here is my updated version: The staff is still iffy, but I really like their ribeye steak on Friday nights. It's got such a good flavor and it's nice and fatty which I love since the fat tastes so good! I find it often they tend to run out of side dishes.
