Vilvoorde (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈvɪlvoːrdə], French: Vilvorde, historically known as Filford in English) is a Belgian municipality in the Flemish province of Flemish Brabant. The municipality comprises the city of Vilvoorde proper with its two outlying quarters of Koningslo and Houtem and the small town of Peutie. The nickname for inhabitants of Vilvoorde is Pjeirrefretters (horse eaters) because horse meat (specially steak) is a beloved food in Vilvoorde.

Visited the restaurant on a quiet Thursday lunch. Friendly waiter welcomed us, assigned us a table in a very rustic setting. immediately asked for drinks, appreciated, we were thursty. Ordered a nice starter, KOP met SAUS, already forgot what it was but it tasted excellent with a beer. So horse meat I hear you say, why? Well, because it's healthy, tasty and a typical dish in that great city of Vilvoorde. French fries hand cut, mayonaise home made, salad prepared at the table by our waiter and a perfect cut of meat, prepared as it should. I took the 200 g steak, was sufficient for lunch, noticed the owner's mother (and former owner i was told) enter the house and greet everybody, i saw all kinds of guests, old to young, trendy and traditional and I saw happy people, those that want a restaurant for its quality and smile, nothing fancy, fairly priced. I liked it !

small restaurant but with lots of ambiance! Very tasteful horsemeat, fresh French fries.... Be entertained by the owner, but be prepared for some good laughs!

For many years, Spectrum has been one of my favourite restaurants for lunch/dinner with family/friends/business colleagues. The menu boasts some of the best Belgian food - with classics like l'américain (beef tartare) or seasonal dishes with asparagus, mussels or pheasant - but also more exotic dishes like Thai carpaccio or chicken red curry. My all time favourite is the pavé de bœuf, sauce poivre crème concassé.
The menu is updated monthly to reflect seasonal dishes. Friendly, efficient service. Outdoor Terrace. Excellent value for the price paid.

small but cosy restaurant. The chinese lady is charming and an excellent host. The menu is very chinese. The food is certainly authentic and the cooking, although a little bit adapted to western style, is also rather authentic. Reservation is most of the time needed.

Came alone and by myself on a Monday evening. No other customers were dining this evening. The waitress came, brought bread, olives, pepperoccinis and dropped a menu for me. When she came back, I asked for an English menu which they did not have. She happily helped me translate though. When the food arrived it was nicely presented, tasted fresh and was great. No actual complaints at all!

La Hacienda is a spanish restaurant situated just 5 minutes away from the Ring of Brussels and 8 minutes away from the Zaventem Airport. This Mediterranean house includes a restaurant, a conference room, a bodega, a Terrace with large backyard and a private parking.
The excellent Spanish tree course menu starts by way of a refined selection of superior tapas, continues with an Iberian pork fillet accompanied with Jerusalem artichoke - wild mushrooms & cabbage in wine sauce ( or with paella but by reservation only ) and concludes...MoreDear Sir, Thank you for your positive feedback about your visit in our restaurant. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed our menu "Hacienda". We hope to welcome you soon again (maybe for the paella this time)! Angel, Rosi and the staff.

We were taken here by a colleague while on a business trip, and had a very pleasant evening. For a starter I had the duck, very pleasant indeed, attractive presentation with excellent flavours, for my main I had the 'surf & turf' (chicken & prawn) pad Thai, very tasty. The wine we had was a malbec and was good without being too memorable. Overall a very pleasant meal, not cheap but not outrageous either.

Clean friendly quality sushi restaurant.
We went there with our 2 kids (7 and 11) and they loved it.
(They used to ask for McDonalds and Pizza Hut, now they want sushi... one step forward ! )
For this quality the price is great.
Don't order to much, with sushi your eyes are always bigger than your stomach.
