"Sröndin Bistro & bar is a fine a la cart restaurant in Vík with good value of food, located in a building behind the N1 gas-station in Vík. Its menu is on their website".
Wonderful restaurant with knowledgeable staff. The food was amazing! We had Icelandic stew, arctic char, and lamb. Everything was divine. Great view if sitting on the right side of the restaurant. Located behind the N1 service station. There is another restaurant attached to the gas station. Strondin is IN THE BACK! Happy eating!!

We were pleasantly surprised by the breakfast buffet at Hotel Hofdabrekka. Yes, yes, it is a tour-group hotel, and we were not with a tour group by any stretch of the imagination, but the facilities were large and quaint inside, and the breakfast was filled with some harder-to-find buffet items that we didn't see at other spots, such as a wide variety of homemade jams, a good selection of fresh fruit, and an excellent bread selection, including a dark cinnamon bread that we saw nowhere else, plus a "make your own waffle" station which was super fantastic. It could have been taken up one more notch by including a bit more fish options and also, real juice; the fake juice or juice concentrate, or whatever it is, which is ubiquitous at every Icelandic hotel buffet breakfast is barely drinkable to my palate.
Since it was milling with tour groups, we simply had our breakfast on picnic tables outside, which was entirely pleasant. I have no idea what the cost was, however, since it was included in the price of our hotel.

We offer fresh meals made with love and local ingredients. The restaurant is located in an old and charming house on the top of a hill with amazing view of the ocean, town and surrounding Mountains.
My husband and I had dinner here based on a recommendation from another couple staying at our hotel. The food was great and service was wonderful. I had the burger with goat cheese and my husband had the steak. Both dishes were great! The Viking Lager was a perfect paring for both. Others around us seemed to be ordering pizzas (especially kids). The yogurt pie was so delicious. Highly recommend.

Restaurant Berg is located in Icelandair Hotel Vik and it is a first-rate restaurant with fabulous views to Reynisdrangar Pillars and the village. Every effort has been made to create a generous Icelandic à la carte menu focusing on using produce from the nearby area. The goal is to send your taste buds on an exciting journey around the region. The restaurant's setting and the beautiful natural surroundings ensure that our guests have a particularly enjoyable experience.
Staying two nights in Vik, at Icelandair Hotel, without many restaurant choices around, we decided to try Berg the first night. It is a classy, elegant hotel restaurant, with good service and good food quality. The dishes were well presented, flavorful even though very classic (not much innovation). Prices are a bit on the higher side, but then again, nothing is cheap in Iceland. Overall, a good restaurant.

The Black Beach restaurant and coffee house is located in one of the most amazing nature highlights of the south, Reynisfjara. In a short walking distance from the basalt formations and the cave Halsanefshellir the restaurant offers a breathtaking view of Dyrholaey and the ocean. The restaurant was built in 2014 and is an architectural beauty where the building blends into the terrain and rocks from the beach were used as building material in the walls. The coffee house offers; hot soup, freshly made cakes and sandwiches, local discs such as waffles with local ice cream, soft drinks, coffee and tea. The restaurant offers traditional Icelandic food like lamb, beef and fish. We offer free wifi to our guests. General opening hours are flexible for group orders.
You will come to enjoy the scenic beach views and cliffs but do stop for here for a great lunch. The hearty soups are perfect during blustery winter days. There are sandwiches, pasta, and fish dishes. The parking lot fronting this cafe makes it an easy break from your south coast drive.

WE ARE CLOSED FOR THE SEASON, SEE YOU AGAIN SUMMER 2018!!!

We are a small family owned soup company, located in the heart of Vik i Myrdal, Iceland. We serve various sorts of delicious soups and freshly baked bread to take away.

We started our company because we simply love soups. We come from a large family and throughout the years we have gathered on cold rainy days over hot soup, It's a family tradition.

We wanted to bring some of our tastiest recipes alive and introduce it to the people of Vik and all the wonderful travellers that come through our little town.

Since we are in constant connection to the beautiful nature in Vik, we are environmentally concerned so we decided to be 100 % compostable from day one. That is why all of our disposables are swan marked and made out of organic ingredients that break down in only 6-12 weeks.
We happened to be in Vik on a particularly chilly day, so soup was perfect for lunch! It seems to be like a "trailer" type of building so it is amazing what comes out of her kitchen! There were two choices that day: onion soup and chicken curry. Each order comes with bread, freshly baked. She also had vegan rolls if we wanted. We had the onion soup, made from different kinds of onion (leeks included). It was spicy and delish! A little expensive for soup (maybe $12 US for a very large generous cup) but worth it. There is some indoor Seating (maybe for four people) and the rest is outdoor Seating, with benches and stools as tables, not really a sit-down-at-table situation. Some people just sat on the raised platform (see pic). But it's all good. I would be happy to warm my tummy and my hands here again. Because I am definitely coming back to Vik.
