For years, Vieste was just another fishing village… but now it’s a popular Mediterranean beach destination. Swim and sail in deep-blue water (widely renowned for its purity), or explore the town’s fine castle and cathedral. For the ultimate Vieste experience, pack a picnic basket and ask a local to direct you to their favorite hidden cove.

The restaurant Al Cantinone is situated in the inner centre of Vieste. The restaurant offers to its guest tasty Mediterranean dishes using fresh and local food.
During our three weeks in Italy we've realized that it's hard to tell what kind of restaurant you've got in front of you. Sometimes portions are huge and sometimes it's more elegant fine dining. This was the latter. Great food, well made, but small portions...MoreGrazie!

Read many reviews about Osteria al Duomo and was very much looking forward to a nice seafood meal. Unfortunately both service and food were well below expectations. Waitress seemed distracted taking our order (not sure whether it was because we were not Italian and she could not be bothered with English speakers, or she generally was not interested in us!). When we ordered she warned us our first course would take twenty minutes which we assured her was OK as we were looking forward to a special meal ... however she forgot to bring us the wine we ordered (which we eventually had to ask for after the first course arrived) and after the first course arrived, service was very haphazard. Food did not live up to expectations .... we chose for the second course the roasted seafood; some of the fish was overcooked including the lobster you could not get any meat out of the shell to eat!! An over rated restaurant and i am sure there are much better choices in Vieste!

The restaurant is located in a suggestive foreshortening of the historical center of Vieste overhanging on the sea.The environment inside is country - elegant between arches of tuff and wooden beams .
Really nicely prepared food, in lovely surroundings and great friendly service, not the cheapest but well worth it. As other reviewers have said the menu is a little different to the standard local offerings.

This family-operated restaurant offers romantic dining, luscious cooked-to-order Italian specialties, an excellent selection of local wine, and friendly service. The seafood stew was among the best I've ever tasted.

We ate here twice, and on the first night, after asking for a view, we found ourselves enjoying delightfully fresh simple dishes while taking in a sunset over the habour. The second time was excellent too. If we make it back to Vieste, we'll go back for sure.

Prosciutto pizza has been my favourite food since I holidayed in Italy (Lignano Pineta) as a young boy. So if I go somewhere new I always search out the best rated pizzerias.
You could literally walk past this place if you didn't know the amazing quality of the pizzas they serve.
We came for lunch on day and had a great pizza although there was a mix up with the pizza and the fries, they ended up on the pizza haha. Fries removed pizza demolished...... When the larger than life owner (and pizza Jedi) realised the mix up he was very apologetic.
The pizza was so good, we decided to spend our last night here, and the pizza was even better. The atmosphere at night adds to the experience with the owner and his sons (I think) chatting to everyone who passes, a real local place.
This is no frills as they come with no plates or glasses but amazing pizzas and cold beer at great prices. Officially new favourite pizzeria on the planet!!!

Chef Vincenzo Sementino, and his staff prepare the traditional apulian dishes with a bit of innovative taste, making our cuisine a real “atelier of the flavors”: tasty and creative. Arcaroli Restaurant has a long history of excellence: In-season products, flavors from the garden best fishes and prestigious wines. Chef Vincenzo interprets every recipe with passion, according to the rules of modern cuisine: short cooking and delicate flavors, keeping always in mind the tradition of the apulian culture cuisine.
We ate here one night and chose it based on previous reviews. We found the food to be OK (actually turned out to be our worst meal in Puglia). The food came really quickly (no break between our starters and main courses), we had to ask for a wine cooler and once we had finished our meal we weren't asked if we wanted desserts and we actually had to go and seek out the waiter to pay - not impressed.

Our visits to Lido Vesta were consistently exceptional and overall better than any of the other restaurants we visited in Vieste, including many currently in the Tripadvisor top 10. The food here is beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. Three generations of the family deliver a wonderful welcoming service. All at a very reasonable price. Do not be fooled into thinking this is a simple beach café, it is much more.
During our week in Vieste we popped in for lunch twice whilst spending the day on the beach and tried a selection of dishes from the different courses. We weren't disappointed with any of them. The service was attentive, and delivered without hurrying us or leaving us waiting us for too long. Most importantly we felt welcomed. We decided to return on our last evening in Vieste and were pleasantly surprised to see the restaurant transformed from its lovely daytime casual setting, the menu was the same but with linen table clothes and napkins and the staff dressed to match the restaurant took on a beautiful and more sophisticated feel. The food was again exceptional and we particularly enjoyed the Squid ink Tagliotini, Trio of Bluefin tuna and Grilled Octopus, with each and every dish presented with care and looking like individual works of art. At a total price of 77Euros for 2 antipasti, 1 Primi and 2 Secondi Piatto as well as a dessert and a bottle of house wine, this is exceptional value for money as well.
We cannot speak highly enough of Lido Vesta and most importantly the family owners and staff who made our visits here truly memorable in every way.
