Vianen (Dutch pronunciation: [viˈjaːnə(n)]) is a municipality and a city in the central Netherlands, in the province of Utrecht. It is the only municipality in Utrecht located south of the Lek River. Before 2002 it was part of the province of South Holland. Vianen is bordered by two major motorways leading to Utrecht: the A2 (Amsterdam-Maastricht) on its west, and the A27 (Breda-Almere) just east of the town. Both roads can be notoriously congested near Vianen during peak commute hours.

Although we couldnt speak dutch, the waitress lolly was very helpful & I had a fantastic peppered steak which was cooked perfectly, fries & salad, also got a top up of salad without charge, bar/restaurant brilliantly decorated & loved the night there !!

Minos Pallas is a typical Greek restaurant with the typical common dishes. Also the layout of the restaurant, music and atmosphere will give you the feeling that you are in Greece. Even when the place is crowded as it was when we visited you get pretty fast served your meal. the only minor thing we can mention is that it is hard to get a parking spot in the area when you go by car. Otherwise you get good value for money.

We had a wonderful dining experience in this authentic Dutch restaurant in the pretty little town of Vianen about 10km from Utrecht. It's a converted old house with a lovely dining area and the freshest linen napkins I've seen! The shellfish starter was a dream and I had the mixed grill, my partner the fish of the day, both cooked to perfection. Generous, but not overly filling, portions prevented us from having the sweet.
All washed down with perfect house red and delicious coffee. Served by the friendliest of staff, with about 30 covers capacity, this is a must if you want to get off the tourist track..and all for 40Eu each. There's B & B and afternoon tea too and would love to try both. Thank you Vianen!

After living near Vianen for 8 years, my wife and I finally visited Mama Mia in the old city center. Always thought outside dining at the waterfront would be great there, but visiting during the winter the interior is also quite good. We were lucky to get in without a reservation, but the place is quite popular and during a weekday it was very busy.
Very nice and patient staff, great service. The food itself was great, and was made even more special by the presentation of serving. Taste and presentation great! We had a nice bottle of wine and there was no rush to get us to dessert.
Great place, we will surely visit again.

We had lunch here in September 2016.
It is a beautiful location although it was a little tricky to find as it wasn't that well signposted.
We had the surprise 3 course lunch option. Every course was beautifully presented, with exceptional flavours. The matching wines were really well chosen too.
Highly recommend.

An unpromising location (where it's easy to park) until you see the view behind the building. An unpromising entrance, giving way to a splendid wine cellar style dining room. A promising menu that should give you the confidence to order the "specialty" of the house: the surprise menu. Just tell them how many courses you want, sit back and relax. If you have dietary restrictions, it's even better: they actually listen and come up with surprisingly good variations or alternatives.
Each dish is on the small side. Close your eyes, taste as well as you can, combine different parts of the dish. Unless you are a really big eater not only will you have had enough, you will have enjoyed your dessert as much as your first dish. Multiply that by generous portions of innovation and creativity. Unusual, but excellent combinations of ingredients make your meal as adventurous as a South Pole cruise. Set your prejudices aside and let the chef take you by the hand into a land you could not have dreamt up yourself. They passed my own simplistic test of attention to detail with flying colours: excellent bread and very good coffee.
The negatives are really piddling. The acoustics are bizarre so the place can seem loud. If there is a wine chart I didn't see it and I sensed a strange aversion against French wines. These points are more than offset by an attentive, understanding and charming service.
One day, Michelin will find them.

Bijzonder restaurant waar het echt het gevoel geeft alsof je bij iemand thuis eet. Super lekker eten waar veel aandacht aan wordt besteed en het iedereen naar z'n zin maakt. Echt geweldig! De moeite waard!
Very nice diner in a great looking reataurant. Former garage, turned into a beautiful restaurant. We ate upstairs where it was very hot... (summer). You may want to make sure you eat outide or downstairs when it's hot.
Food was good, not great. Service was great.

We stayed for two nights. It was a repeat stay, so you're not surprised that we recommend this hotel. It's a little bit complicated to find your room, but it's a nice exercise.
The rooms are a bit old fashioned, but pleasant.
We had twice breakfast, which is very good.
Staff is very pleasant.

The restaurant is lovely and very big, the taste was really good (even though we waited for 1 hour between the starter and the main dish.. Because we were 7..), the waiters are really nice and ery, always caring for you, especially because we were trying to understand each other in English, which wasn't each's native language. We had a great time !

What a hidden gem is this restaurant! Nieuwegein is not one of my favorite cities and I wouldn't go there without a good reason, but this restaurant certainly is a reason to go more often! The food was delicious (we had steak tartare and filet mignon), so good that we didn't have more space to fit in a nice dessert ;) The food was cooked perfectly and prized fairly. I will definitely come back!
