Steeped in history, Vancouver is the oldest city in Washington. Once the largest western outpost of the British Hudson's Bay Company, where supplies and food were bartered in the 1800s, it was closed in 1860 as Americans took over commerce. The outpost was later recreated as the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site. For more history, check out the Pearson Air Field, the oldest operating airfield in the West, where vintage aircraft are displayed at the Pearson Air Museum. If adventure is your bag, Vancouver is the perfect base for day trips to the Columbia River Gorge, the breathtakingly beautiful 70-mile river stretch that cuts through the Cascade Mountains, or Mount St. Helens, the site of the famous volcano, both of which offer a slew of outdoor activities. For calmer pastimes, cruise the picturesque river in the Columbia Gorge riverboat, or visit Beacon Rock, the world's second largest monolith, where a walking trail leads to spectacular panoramic views.

I really wanted to love this place, and as far as the service and decor was concerned, this place was five stars across the board. The food is where it fell short, unfortunately.
Appetizer: pork spring rolls. Ok - these were delicious. Mains: Sushi combo platter. Salmon was good, the rest of the fish did not taste fresh. And the tuna - yikes. The Teri chicken / beef mix plate with curry mac salad. I feel like they tried to make this classic plate lunch fancy, and it didn’t really need to be. Charbroil flavor was missing on the chicken. Beef was ok. This may be my Hawaiian blood speaking, but the curry mac got a thumbs down from me. Dessert: banana bread bread pudding. It was actually just cubed and crisper banana bread sitting in a caramel like sauce. The crispy bread cubes was fantastic, but they got kind of soggy sitting in a puddle of the sauce. They should have just drizzled the caramel sauce over the top of the cubes so the bread could keep that wonderful crunch. Satisfied the sweet tooth though (although a little steep at $8.50 a dessert).
I wouldn’t mind trying this place again and giving it another shot. The food on the first go round was a little bit of a miss though.

Being from out of town, it's been two years since visiting La Bottega. The first experience was great and it repeated itself again. The staff is very polite and informative. The presentation and flavor of the food is excellent. There's not many places where you can order half servings and this is one of them. It gives you an opportunity to savor more than one item. The spinach salad is awesome, and the pasta dishes are all fabulous. Yes, it is a small café and normally quite busy. But that is an indicator of success. We won't miss another opportunity to dine here for lunch or dinner and you shouldn't either...

During our spring break vacation in Vancouver, our friends took us to Thai Orchid restaurant. The service was good. We all liked the food and our drinks. We got the pineapple fried rice, pad thai and green curry along with spring rolls & crab rangoon as appetizers. I also liked the cucumber salad, the Thai tea. Recommended!

Located in the beautiful Heathman Lodge in Vancouver, Washington. Hudson's is the quintessential urban retreat that provides guests with a calm refuge and a memorable experience. Discover the Northwest by savoring seasonal cuisine while relaxing next to our custom slate fireplaces or taking in the grand décor and original artwork. Your dining experience is eloquently enhanced by the live jazz piano music featuring locally acclaimed artists.
I was on a solo business trip in the Vancouver area and stayed at the Heathman. As I came in after a long day on the road, I heard to piano playing and thought a glass of wine and dinner would be nice. The place was packed, so I grabbed a seat at the bar.
This by the glass wine list wasn’t very extensive but I ordered a local (Northwest) Zin, which was OK. My dinner was the flatiron steak, over root vegetables. I would rate the dinner as good, not great. The vegetables were well chosen and tasty.
I think the Heathman and the Hudson bar and grill are a good place to stop if you’re traveling on business and need a reasonable but nice place to stay.
I love hearing the piano in the background!

A couple of friends and I stopped by beaches for lunch. seating was quick and the drink order was taken promptly. the coffee came, but it took almost 20 minutes for the rest of the drinks (including soda) to come over. it took over 20 more minutes to get in our food order. the food came at a reasonable time frame, but getting any service, refills or condiments was just not going to happen. the food was good, but the service was appalling. for that reason alone, I don't think I will be returning.
On the plus side, the view of the river was nice, the menu had a wide range of choices that looked good, just good luck getting any of them.

Stopped for happy hour last week and everthing was great....special lamb soup/stew especially yummy. Great server, Karin, who told us about the Sunday Supper advising to check the web site for each week's special. We did that, nothing on web site for so husband called and was told it would be posted and that we would receive an email giving us the info. Nothing received. I called again on Saturday...said they didn't know yet what special was, but that it would be posted. Still no postings. Maybe Sunday suppers have been discontinued?

Gustav's is a favorite for casual dining. Serving lunch and dinner, the menu features a savory array of European and Northwest Specialties to suit any taste and appetite.
Everyone enjoyed their food: Shepard’s pie, fondu, club sandwich, lentil soup and some other entrees were had and enjoyed. The waiter was excellent and very attentive so I would like to come back and order some other tempting dishes I noticed on the menu, I guess I like German food now, huh…!

I think I'm gonna zuke! After all the hype, this restaurant clarifies, beyond a doubt, that people around here just don't know any better!
Homemade Yukon Gold potatoes gingerly coated in either brown, Turkey, or country sausage ...packaged, cornstarch slime! undercooked packaged cornbread, frozen crinkle cut fries and a frozen meatloaf they unconvincingly try to pass off as there own ... and all with a sodium content well beyond criminal limits. Minutes after dining here, my wife went into severe gastric distress and spent 30 minutes in the bathroom trying to endure the pain.
Needless to say, I won't be going back and will spend every opportunity, until my dying breath, trashing this total whiz hole!

Don't go out in the Couve, hardy at all, but circumstances dictated a dinner venue with old and new friends.
My wife found this place and overall we had a great time, interesting menu, full bar and great service made for a very good time. Also gluten free aware.
Check them out, a little off the beaten path.

Good ole’ style Mediterranean, specifically Jordanian food. Everything we ordered was yum yum! My daughter just ordered the Sambusak from the appetizer menu and that was enough food for her. The Jordanian kabobs are all good regardless of which meat you choose: chicken, beef or lamb. They are all prepared well and tender. The Jordanian speciality dishes are also great: my wife ordered Maqluba and it was delish....
Desserts are unique and great also
