This is the first brazilian restaurant in Portugal, and is famous for the caipirinhas, the rodizio, and the famous frequentky customers (politicians, soccer players, actors, ...)
My father-in-law brought us here for dinner on our visit to Portugal. No meal could compare after this. Staff was so friendly and really made the entire experience. And this is an experience! We have been to Brazilian Steakhouses before but this is the best!! Starting with a caipirinha was 3 hrs of delicious bliss. Each meat was more incredible than the next and we all left full and satisfied. I would highly recommend and hope we get to return again soon!!!

Installed in an area of undeniable beauty that stands out from the urban area that surrounds the restaurant "A Harpa" is the stage for a new gastronomic proposal in Sao Joao da Madeira. Charming and refined, this newly opened restaurant offers an extensive menu that allows delightful surprises by the union of flavors, colors and aromas, enhancing the quality of the meals, exquisite dishes and distinction in service. It features a private parking, a large living room and a modern design - which joins another outside in the garden style "Harp" - is prepared to respond to all requests of its customers. These can also enjoy a diverse menu reflecting a Portuguese gastronomic culture that extends from the coast to the Mountains. Offering desserts mouthwatering, "A Harpa" is distinguished also for its extensive wine cellar of refined quality. Under the management of Chef Manuel Paula, the restaurant "The Harp" is also composed of an excellent team of highly qualified professionals.
I went to the Harpa back in June 2016. Lunch time the price is amazing..Upon arrival you receive a glass of champagne, bread with pate is also offered then there is a menu which consists of soup, main entree and dessert for 11 Euros per person. Menu is called their specific selection just for lunch at a fixed rate. The quantity of food is unbelievable and the quality is amazing. I definitely can't wait to go back.

Located at the foot of the Serra da Freita, the Restaurant Mira Freita definitely offers some of the best regional and portuguese cuisine any one will ever have the pleasure to taste.
Everything from the entreés to the desert is delicious. The 'rojões/sausage' appetizer offers an initial taste of the regional cuisine, and the restaurant's main menu has a full offer of meat and fish dishes: goat, veal, pork, and fish.
Some of the specialties and favourites are the 'carne de porco à alentejana' (fried pork meat served with potatoes and peppers and clams); veal and goat roasted in a woodstove and skeward meat (which mixes various meats). All of the options are sure to leave you satisfied.
With Deserts, the crepe with an ice cream and banana filling is also a definite choice and something you won't want to miss out on.
The restaurant won't look like much from the outside, but the quality of it's dishes are a guarantee success.

I’m reviewing this restaurant in English, as I do in 95% of my reviews, but this restaurant location is more for Portuguese due to his location. It isn’t on a tourist city or even in a tourist route. But definitely is a hidden gem!!!
This is a typical Portuguese restaurant that makes Chicken BBQ exclusive as many we have in Portugal. But they do it in a way you won’t easily find else ware. The flavor… uau! And then they have another trump: the “arroz de miúdos”, made on old pans/ cans: it’s rice made with parts of chicken. Very, very good.
For me, the top is the desert: the restaurant’s main desert is “Aletria”, a traditional desert of north of Portugal, normally made in Christmas… here they serve it cold and it’s… PERFECT!!!
A friend that lives near took me to this restaurant… and what a dinner we had!!!
Great!

El pata negra é um espaço muito bem conseguido com decoração cuidada.
Neste espaço podemos degustar vários petiscos sendo que o presunto está presente em muitos deles.
Almocei um prego de vitela no prato com presunto que estava mt bom.

I frequently travel to Portugal and I'm a huge fan of Francesinhas, in fact I've been en dozens of Restaurants trying to find the best one. My surprise? I found it far (not so far actually) from Porto, in Sao Joao da Madeira, so close to home. I was told it's an expensive place, well, not agree, it's not cheap BUT the quality worth it, doubtless.
First of all, when you come in, the owner has the courtesy of introduce and explain the concept of the restaurant and I could tell he's very proud of it, and he should be. Then, he explains every single plate of the menu and the different options. But, let's talk about Francesinhas. They're different and unique, they really are, they have it for meat lovers, fish enthusiasts and even for vegetarians, can you believe it? For vegetarians. Of course I tried the traditional so I could compare, and let me tell you something, they're EXCELLENT, really, not good or very good, extremely good. The meats and sausages they use are above usual and the sauce is perfect. They also have hand crafted beers which are the perfect match. I'll be back for sure because I wanna try the Francesinha again and maybe in a third or fourth occasion any other plate from the menu that looked fantastic. Congratulations.

Sehr empfehlenswert.
