Wonderful family run restaurant near Umag / Portoroz.
IT has the most delicious food / fish and meat / served in the summer on the great covered Terrace and in the winter inside , traditional Istrian konoba with the great open fire that warms your heart as well ))))
Foodie heaven.
Must visit on your next trip to Umag / Portoroz area.

A 10 minute walk from our resort, we decided to try another restaurant in our proximity. It was full outside but decided to be seated inside to avoid waiting. We ordered our meals comprising 4 large beef burgers and a mixed kebab. We had to pay extra for the chips (fries). The definition of a beef burger for the Luna restaurant implied a beef patty and nothing else on your plate. However they did accommodate our request to have some form of a bun to accompany the sparsely populated plate. We waited.... and waited.... and waited.... after one hour I asked if there was a problem. It seemed they had difficulty coping with the full restaurant. We eventually got our meals after 1 hr. and 15 minutes.... I had always thought that a beef burger and a kebab (brochette) should not take longer than 20 minutes on a busy night.... anyway, an exercise definitely not worth repeating! A disaster as far as timing and quality was concerned.

Soooo...my seafood risotto was simply plain undercooked rice with no seasoning with some rubbery non-descript frozen seafood stirred through. My girlfriend ordered the seafood spaghetti, again, undercooked reheated spaghetti with no sauce with some frozen seafood stirred through.
Warning its cash only as well which they don't mention until you try and pay!
Amazing location, enjoy the view with a drink but do not make the mistake of ordering food!

We visited place on our friends suggestion. Nice welcome. We appreciate it and specially on waiters welcoming. The menu is correct and more than inaff choices between seafood and meats dishes. They used a local Adriatic seafood and local truffles and meat, but there’s no fresh make up on food presentation atِ all. Could be much better.
Price range is normal, correct.

I was there recently and had truffles pasta locally named "fuzi s tartufima". the meal price is some 10% higher then in zagreb but problem was that i asked waitress if the portion is suitable for a meal or if it is an appetizer on which she said its an normal portion for one, for surely it is not, it is an appetizer and portion is really small. secondly eating this traditional local dish i would expect it to be better then in zagreb which is not the case here, it was too rarely made more like a soup then pasta, ingredients were good though but dish was too watery

We stopped here for lunch upon the recommendation of the Degrassi winery, glad we did, it was wonderful. We had three courses of fresh seafood and a bottle of "Badi" (Degrassi) wine for ~$50 US so it's an outstanding value as well. The first coarse was raw with sea bass, cold smoked tuna and scallops. The second coarse was a large platter of grilled shellfish including mussels, clams and something that looked a bit like oysters but tasted more like a meaty mussel. They called it something like "muesli" but I think it was a shell fish called Noah’s arc shellfish, Arca noae or kunjka in Croatian from my internet search. The third coarse was a risotto with scallops and shrimp. All of it was wonderful and the service was great. They gave us a liqueur for dessert that they make themselves, it was really tasty and they wouldn't tell me what it was but for one ingredient, pears. Go to Badi if you are in the area, it's a gem!

E il ristorante dentro la marina ACI di Umago
We were enroute to Venice and stopped for a couple of nights at the ACI Marina. As mentioned in a previous post there is always a slight hesitation about Marina restaurants .. this is certainly not the case here.... everything was very good.
We tasted the fish pate and seafood salad which were excellent and then progressed to main courses which included the Istrian meat platter, pork medallions, sea bass and tuna steak.. All excellent.
We couldn't leave without some dessert and those chosen were chocolate mousse and pannacotta.
I would have no hesitation recommending this restaurant .. Good good and wine and a wonderful outlook over the marina.

Lado is the place where our family returns regularly when on vacation in the area. The food is delicious, they serve what they catch. Reasonable pricing. However, this year we came there and we were a bit disappointed because they serve only fried fish and seafood - not grilled etc. Still very delicious, but not our hidden gem for the top quality fish anymore. Would recommend it, but tell the same - it was better before.

Slightly away from the main group of restaurants in town but close to the marina - we were lucky to find this lovely restaurant late on a weekday evening.
There was something on the menu to please everyone- whether feeling like sampling local dishes or not. We saw another table enjoying some wonderful looking platters of seafood to share.
The proprietor was really lovely and made us feel most welcome.
They also provided a high chair which was great.
