The panaeng curry was really nice. The chicken with cashew nuts was also great with a lot of fresh vegetables, I ordered it super spicy and it was! The small spring rolls were of the standard variety but perfectly deep fried (I hate when some restaurants hardly fry them at all so they are all soggy and soaked with fat). The spring rolls were served with a Thai sweet chili sauce and some salad and cucumber. I wanted some extra cabbage or vegetables with them so I asked the Thai lady cooking, Dawan, and she gave me some with a smile on her face. I also tried their special peanut sauce and it was magic. Their portion sizes are BIG and their prices ridiculously cheap. 80-90 SEK for each of the 6 dishes on the menu and 60 SEK for the spring rolls! During lunch you even get a free drink of choice (Cola, orange soda or others).
I came across this place because I and my wife went down to Mellbystrand to watch the American classic car meet they held in Mellbystrand over the weekend. After a while we got hungry and since I generally hate hamburgers and pizzas because most of them are awful, not all though, we looked for something else. We saw this food van and stopped there. The food was great and I spoke with the charming proprietors, Bertil and Dawan. They said they make everything on site and sit late at night cutting vegetables for the next day. They think cutting machines ruin the texture of the vegetables. Talk about dedication…. This dedication to quality also means that sometimes there can be a bit of a wait for your food. But trust me: it is worth the wait.
I`m not saying this is the best Thai food I`ve ever had, but bearing in mind that this is a food van and not a “real” restaurant the food is amazing. Maybe it isn`t that strange since in Thailand some of the best food is available at simple food stalls by the road.
The Happy Thai food van is at Mellbystrand every year during the summer holiday between mid-June to mid-August and the rest of the year they will be in Kungsbacka or Goteborg. So if you want to catch up with them you have to check Trip Advisor I guess. One of the proprietors, Bertil, said that they are working on their home page. But you can always call their order telephone stated on Trip Advisor to find them: +46737413013.
Note that the position of Happy Thai on the Trip Advisor map is slightly off: their food van is actually situated about 70 meters to the southwest, on the other side of the road, on Kustvägen 39 or 41. You can´t miss it if you drive along Kustvägen.

Had a late lunch/ early dinner (14.30). Ordered their "steak burgers", were unable to get them anything but well done, which is strange if is meant to be high quality meat...explanation when food arrived...it was not high quality but rather factory pre made...ugh!! Fries were tasteless, onion rings dry, burger was dry, tasteless and just not good! Service was non existent, tables dirty and floor had food and dropped napkins from previous guests...it could be excused if it was busy but there was us three and 2 other couples. The restaurant had NO atmosphere at all!
Would I recommend this place? Goodness no! If you want a light bite and decent burger then go to Burger King instead (pretty much opposite this Harry's).
The Harry's in Kungsbacka is so much better. This one in Ullared was just awful!

As you approach this place, the looks on the outside match the inside. That's the only thing in it's advantage. Atmosphere and food is no more than a truckers truck stop. So if you are a trucker, give it a try.

If you are looking for something quick but filling, this is your place. With three different sizes of burger, there is certainly something for all appetites! We went for the medium sized burger meal, with a massive burger, larger portion of fries and a drink (way bigger than your average burger joint), and the food was hot and tasty. The grill is right outside the exit of the main shop, so if you just want to pop out for food before continuing to shop, this is the perfect place!

Fint udvalg, også lidt til veganere og vegetarer.
Altid salater, majs, flere oste (feta, mozzarella, gul ost), kyllingspyd, falaffel, kødboller
Man betaler pr. 100 g. Det er muligt at få vand med eller uden brus gratis til maden.
Altid godt tilbud med en drik(kaffe el. sodavand) og en kage.
Husk Salladsbaren lukker ned for maden ca. en time inden varehuset lukker.

Eat as much as you want for SEK 99 + drink + ice cream + coffee
Most of the sushi is just rice allthough some of them realy taste good.
Dishes are OK and in some cases I miss the real Asian taste.
Try stir fried seafood which is hot as I like it.

We stopped by for dinner after finishing shopping at Gekås.
The place looks OK, clean, but has a 'cheap' look.
The menue is OK, with various curries and grill courses, in addition to Italian and American pizzas.
It took forever and a day befor the waiter took our order.
Two groups of people left before ordering, one group of 14 because the couldn't serve pizza, the other group didn't get any menues, they thought their only option was the menues for two listed on the wall.
When we finally got the food, the grill course was a curry, we didn't get the naan breads until we were almost done eating, we never got the chutney we ordered.
Their Visa termial was broken, so we had to use cash which isn't OK since we hva to pay a fee to withdraw Swedish Kroner from the ATM.
A party of four people from Denmark argued loudly with the manager over the lack of information about the broken terminal.
We didn't take fight with the manager over the fine, but over the grilled course being a curry, the meat having a disitct flavor of 'refrigerator' and the price... The manager
chose to argue back, while the waiter was appologizing.
We won't return!

Ny ägare sen någon dag bara. Bra service, bra mat och bra lokal. Enda oklarheten var om man skulle ta bort sina tallrikar själva eller inte. Hit kan vi gå igen.

Men maten var under all kritik...
Vi åt buffe
Kan inte uttala oss om sushin för den smakade vi aldrig.
Maten smakade som om den stått på värme ex antal timmar förlänge.
Currysåsen smakade bara buljong och jordnötssåsen mer vatten än jordnöt..
Glassbuffe står det på trottoarsnackaren utanför.
Den bestod av glass, två smaker.
Friterad banan (inte ett dugg krispig) väldigt seg och gjord på bruna bananer.
Och sirap.
