Úbeda (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈuβeða]; from Arabic Ubbada al-`Arab and this from Iberian Ibiut) is a town in the province of Jaén in Spain's autonomous community of Andalusia, with some 36,025 inhabitants. Both this city and the neighbouring city of Baeza benefited from extensive patronage in the early 16th century resulting in the construction of a series of Renaissance style palaces and churches, which have been preserved ever since. In 2003, UNESCO declared the historic cores and monuments of these two towns a World Heritage Site.

This was a recommendation from a good friend in Madrid- and had a mention in our guide book. We chose cheese and partridge salad for starters followed by partridge and trout for main. The cheese was good but nothing else to write home about- and...MoreIt tries to improve and not put much sauce trout. a greeting

Our dining room is in Ubeda a gastronomic reference for their generous dishes that combine perfectly optimal for money and creativity in their presentations. More than 80 references of wine for the best pairings and great quality products from our region. All washed down with our hallmark extra virgin olive oil.
Stopped here for lunch, eating inside the attractive bar. As usual we got some free tapas with our drinks, and ordered two dishes, which were enormous, and very good - one was squid with chorizo; although I found it a bit salty we still ate it all!. The wine was also good, and the bill was extremely reasonable. A very enjoyable lunch.

Ate two breakfasts during our stay and would rate those as fair. Our tour group had one included dinner and it was among the best meals we had on the trip. We also couldn't find a restaurant that looked interesting as we returned to the hotel one of the days and decided to eat lunch at the hotel. We were the only ones present! The food again was excellent and the service very prompt. Missed eating along the street but the good quality food made up for this.

On an interesting pedestrian street, we enjoyed a 1st dinner in Spain on this trip. Great service and the tapas were treated with a slight Asian touch. Mostly locals and more beer than wine. We enjoyed a couple of wines by the glass, which came with free tapas.
Overall positive.

This restaurant is located by the San Lorenzo viewpoint. Taken care of by a married couple, she is taking care of clients while he is by the stoves. The homely and current styled dining room will offer you a regional kitchen that is kept up to date based in product, technique and tradition with diverse menus. Also there is a pleasant garden inside
During the 'Jornadas Gastronómicas en el Renacimiento' in Úbeda, my wife and I had an incredible 7-course meal at Restaurante Amaranto, for only 25 Euros. The quality of the food was fantastic, as was the inventiveness of the cook. With traditional ingredients he made dishes we had never seen or tasted before during our many stays in Spain. We hope we will be able to visit the restaurant again in the near future.

Spanish restaurants are always a pleasure to visit as their food is fresh and well presented and this is he case of this nicely decorated restaurant in a little pedestrian road of the city centre .
Wonderful their croquettas with fois gras or bacalao ,light and tasty .Very good the cod fish on a bed of fresh vegetables and superb the pea mousse with low temperature farm egg . Very good desserts and perfect service .
Good wines also by the glass.

My husband and I followed many of the reviewers advice and had the tasting menu and we weren't disappointed. Loida looked after us brilliantly and although we were the only people eating in the restaurant there was a buzz from outside and upstairs. Loved the fact we had no idea what we were getting but each course came with a slip explaining what it was. In addition to the 10 courses we had a amuse Bouche and didn't feel too full or uncomfortable at end of meal. Total cost with very good bottle of Rioja, 2 white wine, sparkling water and 2 coffees was 112 euros. Would definitely reccomend!

We really liked this place. It has three areas: a popular bar for snacks and drinks, an informal seated area, and a luxury formal restaurant. Very good meat: some excellent charcoal grilled chuletones (big, on the bone steaks). Excellent wine list, good and attentive service. The bar was packed, the middle area was full, but the formal restaurant was relatively empty when we were there. A good 15 minute walk or 5-7 min drive from the Parador, but the walk is a good excuse to see some of the more remote monuments in Ubeda, and itself by a huge medieval hospital that is worth seeing.
We wanted to revisit but it was closed when we got there...Sunday night. Worth at least one visit if in the area.

I wasn’t keen on going to an Italian restaurant in Spain, so I avoided ordering any pasta, and ordered a salad – goat cheese salad – instead. Turned out to be one of the best salads I’ve ever eaten! My husband ordered a pizza and was brought one so large, it was twice the size of the plate. The food was good and the prices were incredibly cheap. If you don’t mind going for Italian food in Spain, then this is a good choice.
