My husband had the Philly cheesesteak the meat was incredibly tender. I had the steak sandwich it was very good. Onion rings were nice and Light, with the onions crisp and not stringy. The kicker was my husband ordered a root beer float, I took a small taste and my childhood flashed before my eyes! Phenomenal. After we left we perused the candy assortment and ended up with 5 pieces of candy, toffee, creams Etc awesome. I love the decor, the cashier cage, the candy display cases. They also have another room that is a wall of books that you are more than welcome to take and read. This place is, as many original places should be, well taken care of by people who care about restoration and preserving the past. Definitely want to visit again.

And the only place, out on Hwy 36 on the West side a bit Burgers and beer. Seems to have limited hours, we went by several times before we found it open

This was next to our hotel. It looked like a good place to eat. It is a fancy sandwich shop. I had a chef salad and a bowl of tomato basil soup. May wife also had a different salad. The food was good and the service was quick. There is also a store with lots of baking items in it. They also have a bakery there. The food looked good but wasn't on my diet so I did not get anything. Wife did find a tea blend she liked. I would stop here again.

Can't believe I'm writing a review of a Dairy Queen, but this place was gross. The floors were filthy, there were a lot of flies all over the place. I can't even say what else may have been there because I had to eat without looking around any more otherwise I may not have been able to finish my food.

We love Monical's Pizza for their thin crust pizza, and we visit every time we're staying near one. Unfortunately their are none near where we live so we only get to visit when we travel to downstate Illinois

After visiting the outlet mall, we wanted to try the newly opened replacement in the old Tuscany restaurant building. The decor is attractive and interesting with brightly painted table and chairs.
We decided to try one of the more expensive, and different sounding dishes on the menu and were pleasantly surprised by the presentation. The shrimp, crab, scallop and tilapia meal was served in a scorching hot, black , lava bowl which continued to boil as we ate. The fish was perfectly cooked and seasoned in a delicious pepper and onion sauce , and served with beans, rice, tortillas, lettuce on the side. I'm sorry that I cannot remember what it was called, but will definitely get it again.
We enjoyed our meal so much that we went back a week later and had an equally good meal that a was more typical Mexican dish. We are looking forward to trying other offerings on the menu.

My husband and I stopped here for lunch on our way home from Chicago. I don't know why since we have never liked Pizza Hut. We chose the buffet even though we only ate the pizza slices. I had the pepperoni pizza and my husband had a combo of pepperoni and sausage. Katie was our server and she did an excellent job filling our drinks and making sure we had everything we needed. We didn't eat much. The Sun. buffet for two adults was $13.90. That's not a bad price if you eat enough to make it worthwhile. We did not. Our fault....that's for sure because we still do not like Pizza Hut pizza. The restaurant was clean and they kept replenishing the pizza. We love Papa Murphy when we are at home to put it in the oven. You just can't beat it! Many people like Pizza Hut we do not and will not go back.

We stopped here for a quick cup of coffee before heading to Mississippi. This is one of the most attractive McDonald's I have been in. The restrooms are immaculate and the building was so clean and welcoming that I took note of how exceptional this stop was! (Food is typical McDonalds, but atmosphere is top-notch.)

It was a Loud, noisy place for breakfast. They had loud distorted 1950's music playing'
The waitresses were clanking dishes when cleaning off tables. The seating was extremely cramped with backs of chairs up against the person's chair sitting behind you.
The food took a long time to get to our table. The 4 pieces of bacon we ordered was all shriveled up with not much actual meat on it. the food was not hot...maybe just barely warm. The prices on the menu were high for a Denny's breakfast. We will never go there again ! I do NOT recommend it!

Heading back north to Chicago, we needed to stop for gas and a bite of fast food. I dropped my family at Subway and Burger King while I went to BP to fill up the car with gas. I wandered in to Lambo's, which looked like the typical service station store. The end of the shop had a counter selling fried chicken in all the typical fast food forms e.g., pieces on the bone, hot wings, chicken fingers, etc. It looked quite good, so I grabbed four hot wings and some strips for the family.
I was surprised by the quality. Instead of the 70/30 breading-to-chicken ratio of most fast-food nuggets, this looked like actual white meat chicken with a very light breading. It was delicious. We'd come back for the chicken next time we're driving downstate on I-57.
