Fletcher's has been in operation in Truro since 1947. We recently renovated the dining room, diner and restrooms to have a fresh new look for our customers. We offer good home cooked meals and desserts at reasonable prices.

Husband had 2 piece fish and chips- huge portion and tasty. I had salmon platter special- as I’m allergic to haddock (which is the main fish used for fish & chips in Nova Scotia apparently!) Salmon platter was very good and lots of food. Great service and good prices.

This is where we usually end up whenever we are in Truro. The food is always good, with generous portions and an extensive menu. You won't leave feeling hungry!
I had the meal size portion of lasagna and it was large; half portions are available for many meals.
Business must be good because they have expanded the Seating area. A good mix of booth and table Seating.
Staff are pleasant and attentive.

I guess people in this town aren't really exposed to really good Greek and Italian cuisine, because if they were the ratings would be much lower. The pizza is ok at best. The donair was terrible, donair sauce way way too sweet. Not to mention the pita was falling apart due to too much liquid.

I recently traveled to Truro Nova Scotia from the United Kingdom and thought I would try Roadside Willies Smokehouse and Bar. I was very happy that I did. The food was amazing, the staff were so friendly with nothing being too difficult. The atmosphere was very relaxed.
The fish and chips were one of the best that I have tried, the batter was nice and crisp and the fish tasted so fresh. The chips were as good as home made ones, I wouldn't be surprised if they were homemade chips.
Hope to visit the bar and restaurant the next time I'm in Canada. Keep up the good work.

Really enjoy grabbing a Pizza + Garlic Fingers special on the way home, they are both very good. The owner is also the cook, very friendly, and you can tell he makes every pizza with pride because they are extremely consistent, never had a bad one yet, prices are in line with other pizza joints as well, give or take. Well continue to come back again and again.

The Bistro on Prince, conveniently located off the lobby of the Holiday Inn Hotel & Conference Centre, Truro, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Come in, relax and dine with style from one of our full service menus - where kids twelve and under (who are guests at the hotel) eat free - or enjoy a beverage with friends in our quiet and intimate lounge. At the Bistro on Prince, you'll find options to please every palate.
Atte there Friday night and had breakfast Saturday and Sunday. Miscommunication between the front desk and the dining room about hours,so ended upin the bar section. The hamburger I had was forgettable and couldn't eat the fries due to an allergy to the spice on them.... and not offer to discount the meal.
Had breakfast both days - not enough on the buffet to justify the pricec charged and the staff, especially one server whose name I did not get, were testy and rude.

Bistro 22 welcomes you to the heart of Nova Scotia. Enjoy the warm hospitality of our restaurant, offering upscale-casual dining, fresh local ingredients and an intimate setting - in the downtown Truro shopping district. Open for lunch Tuesday to Saturday: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and for dinner Thursday to Saturday: 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
This was a great spot for lunch. The prices were reasonable and the service was friendly if a little slow. We enjoyed our meal. The haddock chowder was nice and it came with really good biscuit. The chicken cranberry panini was also tasty. The desserts sounded good but we did not have any. We would eat here again.

Sahla Thai was one of the few restaurants open in the evening when we were looking for a place to eat. Everything else on Prince Street appeared to be dark. The restaurant did not have much ambiance and only one table was occupied. We had read the raving reviews but kept our expectations low.
We wanted fresh spring rolls, but they only had deep-fried ones, so we ordered a mango salad and a garden salad instead. The mango salad was outstanding: a perfect blend of fresh and ripe mango, red onion, chili and very light dressing. The standard garden salad had a very nice peanut sauce.
DH ordered the Pad Thai without egg, and he thought it was great. I had the stir-fried mixed vegetables with steamed rice, simple but flavorful.
While we were eating, the place filled up with couples and with families, and there were also people who came for their take-away orders. It shows that the Truro locals know good food when they taste it.

Truro itself doesn't look like a "must-see" in Nova Scotia. But it's a good place to stop between Halifax or the airport and the PEI ferry. And we had the most amazing meal there. The owner/chef should work in a 5-star place and make lots of money. His food is just amazing. Lots of unusual ingredients and flavors, but they worked beautifully. We had all vegetarian options, but there were meat choices as well. Take the time to stop into this unexpected delight.
