Lochgreen House Hotel is a 4 red star luxury hotel set in acres of manicured Gardens with luxuriously appointed bedrooms, a stunning ballroom and award winning restaurant. Only the finest local produce and our highly trained staff make Lochgreen an experience to remember.
Struggling to understand all the positive reviews.
The lounge area for pre dinner drinks is lovely. Cocktails were very good and amuses were pretty good (except far too much aniseed flavour in the duck macaroons).
The dining room is smart and has a nice ambiance. However, this is where the positives end. We were a party of 5 seated at a table that should have been for 4 absolute max, leaving at least two of us sitting with table legs in front of us (unacceptable) and one of us almost on the lap of the next door diner and having to move his chair every time a waiting staff wanted to reach another of us.
Service was well intentioned but very poor throughout, suggesting lack of training and/or oversight. Drinks glasses not refilled, sometimes even when we asked, eg pointing out a wine glass was empty. Lengthy wait to order dessert and even longer to request the bill. And my absolute pet hate: not knowing whose dish is whose! How hard is it to note on the order which guest ordered which dish. Unforgivable at an establishment such as this.
Scallops were tiny, halved & so were very thin, and completely over cooked. My beef was good but 3 people had venison and two were lovely and rare and large slice and one was an overcooked smaller slice. That kind of inconsistency really irks as one diner is left feeling cheesed off. Desserts were good, but service again let down by drinks ordered to have with dessert not arriving until chased again.
We couldnt complain on the night as someone else was hosting. But very disappointed.

Seafood restaurant overlooking Troon Harbour specialising in locally sourced produce.
About one dozen tables so better to book at this popular fish specialist, nice menu with daily specials and a good range of drinks. Unhurried service, not too slow and the chefs outnumber the waiting staff but first class quality, well worth finding. Toilets are downstairs and not easy for disabled.

Visited here for the first time in January and have already returned since our first visit.
The service is excellent, the staff are friendly and welcoming.
The menu offers a great range of dishes, something for everyone. The food is very tasty and great value for money.
Looking forward to our next visit.

We were looking for fish and chips, and this was recommended.
It is a bit cramped for eat in but still busy with lots of take away people coming and going during our visit.
Our order was taken quickly, food on table fast and it was OK, Fish, chips, tea and bread.
Took a look at the menu afterwards and there is a reasonable choice so if we are here again we can have a different tea.

This establishment is already listed under accommodation but is also a popular restaurant in the town.
As this establishment had won the Best Small Hotel of the Year 2017, we thought it worth a try. Very high quality refurbishment and decor. Friendly staff. We went for a sharing meat platter which came with garlic bread and an extra green side salad. Salad was nicely dressed. The meat board contained a smooth pate, parma ham, chicken tempura and pulled pork croquettes with garlic bread and chilli jam. The chilli jam tasted more like tomato sauce, but otherwise a pleasant lunch experience

Fresh, vibrant, clean, and has a modern oriental look inside. Situated in the heart of Troon town centre, with parking outside. With our dishes made to order, we are able to cater to any needs, i.e any allergies, gluten free, lactose intolerant, and strict vegans. We are a child friendly restaurant, and cater for any parties small or large and we have a carryout/delivery service.
Passing through Troon, came across the Jade Dragon for lunch.
Extensive lunch menu, loads of choice. I had the prawn cocktail followed by sweet & sour chicken with fried rice. Both courses good sized portions, tasty.
The guy serving (I'm guessing he's the owner) was lovely. Chatty and pleasant.

Was not really in a wee hurry but the adjacent Oyster Bar was closed so we just grabbed some fish, fish cakes and chips and scurried home. No complaints. Yum yum!

Randomly called in here after a stroll on Troon beach and we're so glad we did. Service was welcoming and friendly. Filled sandwiches were lovely as well as a proper cup of tea. The scones (rhyme with bones) were amazing and scored a high 10/10 for us, warm with jam and cream mmmmm perfect! Would definitely visit again and highly recommend anyone looking for a nice team room to stop at.

After living in troon for a few years now we decided to give out local Indian a chance. We were welcomed in by the lovely staff who sat us down on a lovely booth that was well lit and comfortable. We were given a pickle tray and some popadoms while we waited to place our order. The fish pakora was lightly battered and most importantly it was fresh and just melts in the mouth. As for the mains, the fragrant and exotic flavours in the dishes gave all of us a present surprise. The service was very quick! On a side note there were multiple options to cater to the needs of vegans, vegetarians and people with allergies. A takeaway menu is also available so we will be sure to order again! Would highly recommend you give the Maharani a visit if your a local or a tourist!
