This is a good German restaurant with a varied menu of traditional German dishes. My husband had the New Year's Eve special of orange glazed duck, mashed potatoes, red cabbage, and soup. I had the veal, German potato salad, red cabbage slaw and salad. Everything was very good with lots of flavor. The veal was breaded and crisp. The slaw was very tasty and the Hot German potato salad was delicious. The German beer - Kostritzer Scheazbier was excellent.

Wow, they make the best stuffed pretzels, best pretzel twists, best pretzel bagels, etc!. We stopped here on a break from a road trip never expecting to find a new favorite destination. I am probably going to have to make the 2+ hour drive out to Penguin Pretzel pretty often. My kids were over the moon and we had taken our orders to go so we could get back on the road. We were so sad we didn't order more. Thank you Penguin Pretzel Factory for the great treat!!!

My husband and I tried this restaurant on a recent trip to Tarpon Springs. The food was some of the best we’ve ever had! As soon as we walked in the door we knew we had made the right decision. It’s a small, quaint restaurant...MoreThank you for your wonderful review. We really appreciate you taking the time to write one and trusting us to pour a bit of balsamic on your food as a part of your tasting experience.

My husband Jack and I, along with our daughter and son-in-law, welcome you to Rusty Bellies Waterfront Grill. Opened in June of 2005, Rusty Bellies is an achievement of three generations worth of goals spanning some thirty years. We are a family owned and operated establishment. Our family came to Tarpon Springs in the 1970's. My parents, Joe and Sue Reis, began the business by purchasing several boats, including a shrimp boat. Before long they had purchased the boat yard and developed the seafood business. In 1985, Jack and I took over operations, and it wasn't long before Jack began refurbishing boats. In 2002. we launched our shrimp boat, Julie Ann. The Julie Ann produces fresh gulf shrimp for Pelican Point Seafood and Rusty Bellies. Jack has since finished refurbishing the Redman, a grouper fishing boat, and the Crabracadabra, a stone crab boat. To this day the Julie Ann, Redman, and Crabracadabra are still family owned and operated by the Russells. Rusty Bellies Waterfront Grill is named for our family's love of fishing, namely gulf grouper fishing. A "Rusty Bellie" is the nickname given to the large male gag grouper. A "Rusty Bellie" generally ranges between twenty and sixty pounds, and is typically caught by the true at heart fisherpersons. As you look around our restaurant you will see photos of family, friends, and local fisherman that bring the freshest seafood to our dock. The menu gives credit to many of our fishermen by naming the dishes after their beloved boats. Of course, there are too many boats to give credit to each, but keep in mind their dedication to providing FRESH FLORIDA WILD CAUGHT SEAFOOD. It is an honor that we continue what our family began many yeas ago. We value our guests, and we are honored to have you dine with us. Please sit back and enjoy the view and allow us to prepare the freshest seafood, including gluten fee options, available for you. Julie and the Russell Family
We knew nothing about this place but we saw it from our boat ride and one in our group wanted to eat good fresh seafood so we went.
Even being after 8:00 on a Sunday eve it was very busy. We waited a little while for a table inside.
Nice decor clean and modern looking. Great staff too.
We all loved our meals: fresh shrimp, the mother load, chicken sandwich and shrimp pasta!
They catch there own seafood and have the boats parked right beside them...cool! Now that is FRESH!
It is worth walking over this end of town and waiting, if needed, for a table. I believe the patio seating is rather large and could have seated us sooner but it was cooling down and not where our party wanted to sit.
Good Long Island too! Glad we checked it out. :)

I can't believe someone stated it was cafeteria atmosphere. You are seated, give your order to a waitress and they serve your food. I thought the atmosphere was interesting....metal plumbing light fixtures, big tvs with sports broadcasted and not overly loud. You start with chips and salsa. My husband ordered a wrap with Cajun chicken and mango salsa. I had the orange rice bowl with chicken, edamame, ginger and lime. Our food was fabulous. The service was great. I'm so glad we stopped. This will be on our list of regular places to go. Thanks for the meal that I kept raving about all day long!!!

Got the potato cakes special. Nobody told us they would be plate-sized! They were delicious! Eggs and link sausage also good. Prompt service, extra-nice servers, just plain good food, no matter what you order. Great variety for any meal, reasonable prices. Always happy to go there.

Florida's Newest Old World Pub. 30 Craft Beer Taps, Wine Bar, Lunch & Dinner, Live Music. Casual dining in a relaxed but sophisticated indoor and covered outdoor setting.
I moved to downtown Tarpon Springs the beginning of February 2018. Tarpon tavern is right around the corner. The entire staff is friendly and welcoming and the food definitely hits the spot. Jessica the bartender is definitely one of my favorite people and she never fails to take care me and all of her patrons. I give this place and the staff a thumbs up!!!

Two of us had the haddock special and it was delicious--fresh, firm, tasty, grilled and seasoned to perfection. The mussels were delicious and the portion was huge while the bang bang shrimp was nicely spiced, lightly breaded and delectable as usual. Service was ok but a little impersonal--smiles were few and far between!!
Wish they would reduce the price of the Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc as at $49/bottle, it is quite pricey!!! I get it for $9.75-12.50 retail!!!! A markup of 4 to 5x is a bit much!!!
Parking is easy and the "call ahead" gets you seated quickly. Ask for a booth if possible as the table chairs are hard on one's posterior!
Very convenient and dependably good---can't ask for much more!
