Located one block off of business 205, a straight shot between highways 5 and 580 in Tracy, my husband and I discovered a locally owned coffee shop worth a detour through the downtown. Arriving on a busy Saturday morning, with the Tracy farmers market in full swing, we were initially dismayed to find a line just out the door. But our order was quickly taken by a helpful employee as we stood in line so that as we reached the cash register we just had to hand over our coffee and pastry order. We were very impressed with the efficiency of the whole operation while friendliness and quality were not sacrificed. The glass case had an extensive offering including quiche. Our toasted bagel and ham and cheese croissant were tasty as were our lattes. There were many tables both inside and out. The cafe was bustling with all ages. Add us to the list of returning customers.

I've eaten here before, this visit we were seated in the bar area, Sad to write the service was not ever prompt, we ordered ice tea and a water with lemon, took a long to receive the tea & water without the lemon! Placed our order from the Early Dine menu, Grilled BBQ Chicken and Chicken Caesar Salad, side, was a sweet potato. So it was not very busy, plus it was the Wednesday before Christmas, they were open before 3:00 maybe because of the Holiday? Anyways, it took a really long time to be served our lunch and the drinks were not refilled, we had to ask for refill's, plus the sweet potato was never delivered! We had to ask about the sweet potato, had it to-go... In the future if we're seated in the bar area, we will ask to seated elsewhere! Only 3 star because poor/lack of service!

I have to say they make an amazing burger. My favorite is the milkshakes. Can't best them! It's hidden in a center but worth finding.

We were visiting Tracy for a high school reunion, wanted something different from our travel and hotel area offerings. Our dinners were fresh and tasty! The basil in my dinner was scrumptious.
As we finished, family members joined us. Although the restaurant is small and busy (Friday evening) the owner made space for us to all sit together. He suggested a Thai beer that was not on the menu- perfect!

A message to my European fellows, this small restaurant was in line with our expectations about Asian food: not too big portions, no too fat sauces, just tasty & well-prepared dishes. What a relief amongst all the fast food restaurants around, and all this for a very reasonable price and pleasant service!

After boarding in Tahoe we wanted some yummy food and Indian was the unanimous craving. The food was amazing. Yes, I was definitely pleasantly surprised such a great place is in Tracy (sorry Tracy). Everything was delicious. Yes. Everything. Order the asterisk items and you can't go wrong. It's family owned which I love supporting! This will be one of my go to places après Tahoe.

This is a great restaurant. This is real food prepared exquisitely. I had the salmon, which was grilled with a wonderful light cream sauce and other garnishes, and some perfectly done potatoes with some sliced onion and bell peppers. Everything was beautifully seasoned. I had the tiramisu for dessert, which was made on site. Delicious real marscapone cheese, light as a feather, great chocolate. Really, this restaurant is great. More expensive than the chain restaurants? Of course. Magellan is creating the food from scratch on site. And it is worth every penny. .

We’re not saying that we have the best family restaurant in town. We don’t need to — because our patrons say it for us! Inside our diner, you’ll find a bear-fully designed restaurant, along with friendly staff. And, of course, we offer a wide selection of the tastiest meals you’ve ever experienced. Visit us today for a fantastic time!
We'd had a long day of flying from Florida then getting stuck in hours of traffic coming out of San Fransisco. The whole family was tired and hungry and wanting to get off the highway. I had read reviews for other Black Bear Diners and decided to give it a try. The food and service were good, huge selection, and we liked the bear décor. Portions were way more than we could eat so took some with us. I like that I was able to order an omelet even at sunset. Hubby had pot roast, daughter had chicken and waffles. Would stop here again if in the area.

This is a top notch restaurant serving great Chinese-American food. The staff are always very helpful, the food is well prepared and very good, and occasionally there is a little something extra to try. Try there delivery at Mandarin express...very good!

Amazing assortment of dishes from Bento to Sushi to Teriyaki. ALL great tasting too. Presentation was ready for photography advertising. The service was noteworthy. I can't remember when I've been taken care of so well. Can't wait to try other things on the menu.
