Our tour took us here for lunch and we were amazed by the view. The food was incredible and the service was impeccable. We really enjoyed having lunch here. The people are very nice and accommodating. They even allowed us to charge our cell phones while eating. We would definitely return.

Very popular place, lots of locals go here. Food was good (simple but good). Asked the waitress for a wine recommendation & it was superb. Good prices, good service.

In the center of Portugal, 4 km from Castelo de Bode Dam, the restaurant has panoramic balcony overlooking the river, rooms with fireplace, meeting area, summer garden, access to the lake. Natural environment. Private park. Traditional Portuguese food, especially meat certified (mirandesa, maronesa, black pork). Sea fish - grouper, sea bass, bream on the grill; River fish - fried shad roe, grilled pike and bass. The season menu offer - roast kid, Rooster field, duck oven, portuguese stew. Our wine cellar boasts a selection of great Portuguese wines. In the lounge bar, you can enjoy premmium drinks, tonics, vintage ports, liqueurs and others delicious cocktails... Throughout the year, we developed private parties, corporate meetings, themed events with the presence of music, among other arts. Come and find a special place that appeals all year ...
Has parking which is always nice, great view, great food, great staff, got recommended a nice wine, they didn't just try to sell me the most expensive wine, the only negative aspect was the time it took for the good to get to the table, but if you're not in a hurry even that time is great to sample some wine and some entrées

This is a small but quaint restaurant in the old part of Tomar. It's known for its chicken--and with good reason. It was delicious: moist and flavored with a nice spice that made it the best we sampled in Portugal (or in US and other countries for that matter). And inexpensive too.

The restaurant has been open for a year and a half. It is on the corner of the street, below the Beira Rio, along from the Post Office.
If you want authentic food, great service outstanding local wine head for this great Tavern. The staff go above and beyond friendly and helpful even helping us poor Brits to find parking and an English speaker at the Post office. The food is wonderful, Robson Green would have felt proud of the specimens served up, and the octopus must have put up one hell of a fight before getting to plate. There were all sorts of scary things listed on the menu all of which tasted fantastic, we ate there nearly every evening and indeed the prawn curry was so good we even went out in a Torrent of rain rather than miss a last chance to have it. Strongly recommend the Red wine produced locally and the chocolate mousse was superb.

Portuguese das Ratas has an interesting past which is Portuguese on it's walls. This busy little restaurant offers regional wines and typical Portuguese food. The food is presented perfectly. They do not offer half portions which is ideal for children. We had the Portuguese (salted cod) and the Ratatouille. The waitress spoke perfect English and playful with our son. We had heard from the locals that this was wonderful place to experience presented food. The restaurant can be quite dark for some. Highly recommended!

This place was recommended to us by our innkeeper. We went, were blown away and came back again a day later.
The food is outstanding: fresh, delicious, authentic, well prepared yet sophisticated enough to stand up to gourmet standards. The desserts are truly out of this world.
The decor is tasteful and versatile - you can find a seat in different parts of the dining hall fitting your mood and agenda: a table with the view in the corner for an intimate couple's dinner, a seat closer to the bar and tv for a friendly gathering or a table by the wall for a quiet family dinner.
The service is impeccable. We relied heavily on recommendations from our waiter, especially when it came to wines (I know nothing of Portugese wines or Portugese grape varieties) and our expectations were systematically exceeded. This should not come as a surprise given that A Luria is a family business and our waiter represents the third generation of it.

We have a rule for eating out - never eat in a place where the staff are in costume (because the food won't be any good) - however the Taverna Antiqua almost, but not quite, breaks that rule. The interior is very dark and decorated with random old stuff. The staff are in costume the oddest part of which is some sort of peasant headgear. The food and wine are supposedly traditional and were quite good but slightly odd (one of the side dishes appeared to be made of mashed bread). The wine was served in earthenware beakers which I personally dislike - wine should be in glasses.

Ate dinner here one night and glad we found this place. The food was a decent serving, well cooked and delicious. House wine was also good. Staff were friendly and attentive. Not a fancy restaurant but just good simple food. All in all would recommend.
