I was here by myself April 21 of this year, and this place still rocks. My wife joined me this time, and she thought it was excellent too! She had the Salmon Wrap. Off the hook! We shall return. Again and again and again ...

This is such a nice, old fashioned tiny little ice cream shop. The prices are ridiculously low, the portions are insanely huge, and the non-soft serve, real ice cream is so good. The only downfall... expect a bit of a line.

Fast, friendly, feel good food !!! We were passing thru from Michigan to Madison , looked up trip advisor and it was spot on ... great food , service, and fast . My husband had Turkey and gravy while I had Mediterranean chicken sandwich both were excellent. I had sweet potatoe fries and a plenty . When the waitress gave us bill she removed the 1 $ up charge for sweet potatoe because she thought my serving looked a little. Skimpy . That is good service. The owner was constantly seating people , filling coffee , getting pop, helping older folks to seat. There was definitely a care for the customer atmosphere !!!!

Stopped by for lunch. All was fine, but disconcerting when server tossed the toast onto the counter with ungloved hands and the cashier picked it up (again, no gloves) and threw it in the box. Needless to say, that piece of toast was tossed out.

We live locally and wanted to try “Taco Tuesday”...$7.99 unlimited tacos.
We were seated immediately and ordered within 5 minutes. One in our party tried to order
5 tacos to start but we were told only 3 at a time. Fair enough. Food came relatively
fast and more and more people came in. (It is hunting season.). Ordered more tacos and the were delivered ONE AT A TIME. Ordered more...never came. One table left without paying. Our waitress said she was new and was uncertain of everything. I asked to speak to a manager. NO MANAGER on premise.
Extremely POOR management. How difficult is it to make tacos?
Bad customer service. Bad service. No response from management.
Go to Dan and Mel’s for their burritos, instead

The inside is rustic. The owner goes all out decorating for each holiday. There's a deck outside, overlooking the water & you can eat out there. They have a well stocked bar & interesting & tasty specials, along with regular menu items

We decided to eat at Besse’s for their Sunday brunch. They have a menu specifically for the brunch along with a few specials. The restaurant is very clean and nice and bright inside. Our waitress was very friendly and offered suggestions. I ordered the Chicken bake. An interesting side note is there is no chicken in the chicken bake. It was very good. My wife had the Eggs Benedict. It was very good also. We will definitely be back.

We stopped for Sunday lunch while traveling through. We were welcomed warmly and seated immediately. The meals we chose were delicious (croque madame and the carmelized onion burger), and the staff were attentive and friendly. The menu had both traditional and some interesting options. Café was neat and clean and would be comfortable for all diners. young and old, etc. We felt the prices were more than reasonable and look forward to returning.

We happened at this restaurant by chance and fell in love with its charm. We had the all-you-can-eat pizza buffet and we were impressed with the value for the money and the fabulous salad bar in addition to the pizza. They had two soups available too, both homemade. Loved the little garlic bread rolls and the pizza dessert crusts. The restaurant is so cutely decorated too. There is a beautiful mural on the wall, red and white checkered tablecloths, and fun old fashioned wooden booths.

Old fashioned and a fun place to come and eat. The food is great, and so is the root beer. Definitely prefer it to Sonic, better food and has a more authentic drive-in feel to it. Not far from 51, should definitely stop over on the way to the Northwoods and enjoy it.
