We've eaten here a few times this year (2017) with a group of adults and kids. They catered really well for everyone. Quick, excellent service for the kids' table. More relaxed for the adults.
The kids' set meals are excellent value - and the kids love them.
They also catered really well for our youngest son who is a coeliac (cannot eat gluten).
I'd definitely recommend it.
Wait staff have been wonderful each time - particularly with our little coeliac. Really attentive.

Gourmet wood fire pizza and alacarte. A full description of our menu and non booking system can be found on our web site.
T-Bar was great. A wide selection of food styles made it a winner for us.
Special mention to the prawn wontons which were amazing.
If you have a sweet tooth, leave room for dessert. Husband and daughter devoured Sticky date and Chocolate puddings in record speed.
The staff were incredibly friendly with high quality service

This is a great restaurant in Thredbo.
We came to the early session and its really family friendly with a good atmosphere.
The food just kept on coming. Don't fill up on the sides if you want to try all the good.
Chicken breast wrapped in bacon and cinnamon roasted pineapple were the two biggest standouts. And the chorizo.
Out of the sides, the Brazilian Cheese Bread was the best.
I cannot speak highly enough of the staff. They were incredibly friendly and attentive and it was clear they were understaffed so made it more impressive how Awesome they were.

This restaurant was a nice change to the crowded, busy, noisey restaurants we had eaten at in Thredbo. The restaurant is beautifully set out, with plenty of space so that the tables are not on top of each other. Service was prompt and when we ordered a med to well done steak we were informed of the time it would take to cook. The pork belly entree was delicious and our children liked the kids meals. Would have loved to have ordered dessert but we couldn't fit it in. We didn't think this restaurant was any more expensive than the others we'd eaten at. Be sure to book especially during snow season and if it's a Fri or Sat night. Will definitely eat here next year when we return to Thredbo.

The Black Bear Restaurant offers guests a true European experience. The restaurant has a cosy and homely feel to it and is decorated in a rustic theme with some touches of alpine decor. The mountain views are exceptional, both summer and winter, paired with great food and a rather extensive wine list, provides a wonderful overall dining experience.
Had some fantastic food with our first dinner in Thredbo and decided to come here for our second evening. It turned out to be another lovely restaurant serving excellent food. We ordered a few dishes including the scallops, mussels and the fish of the day....MoreGary thank you for taking the time to write a review on your visit to the Black Bear Inn restaurant, we are glad you enjoyed your dinner and hope you will return again so that you have the opportunity to try our Trio of Schnitzels!

( Winter Only) The fully licensed a la carte restaurant and bar has been part of Thredbo folklore for several decades. We feature both Australian and international cuisine, however, a favourite with our patrons and specialty of the house is fondue. Boasting the same unsurpassed views as the restaurant and your room, the bar has European beers and imported Schnapps and fine Australian wine on offer and for those sometimes important not to be missed occasions we also have ski movies running in the bar. A feature of any stay at Candlelight Lodge is to join the other guests in the bar and on the deck to watch the weekly flare run before fireworks light up the mountain each Saturday at 6pm during the ski season.
Beautifully decorated in a Swiss German charm.
Cheese fondue was absolutely delicious. Beef fondue was ok. Chocolate fondue was like melted Nutella- ie- super yum.
It has a warm n lovely bar and a kids play room!
Staff were way overworked and yet never once complained.
Highly recommended.
BOOK!
We saw 2 hungry parties turned away despite empty tables- fully booked and the owners did not want to disappoint those who had booked.
Pricey.... But everything in Thredbo is!

I just stopped for a coffee but the pastry of the rolls and pies looked so fresh and light that I could not resist . Ate one on site and took some home for later. I was not disappointed.
