In a quirky Dutch-ism, Amsterdam may be the official capital of the Netherlands, but it’s The Hague (Den Haag) where the government sits (along with several international courts, for which the city’s best known). Cosmopolitan and cultured, The Hague is Holland’s third-largest town, with just under 500,000 people. Conveniently, the beach resort of Scheveningen is part of The Hague, and en route lies the family-friendly Madurodam, a fascinating 1/25 miniature display of a fictitious Dutch city.

Visited here a number of times on business with small groups and have enjoyed the separate rooms available. The food is fantastic and fresh and the presentation outstanding. The staff are friendly and will assist to ensure you get the most from your evening. Spijs has a great selection of wines and the desserts are amazing. Definitely one to recommend.

Chef Han merges the Oriental and French kitchens with one another.
it's a surprise that there is chinese-french combined cuisine restaurant in den haag. the entrance and the decoration are interesting, guests' coat are collected after entry.
appetizer on the house is a little surprise, different small snack and source on wooden spoons and plates, very interesting for welcome.
5 courses are well prepared and well served, the cooking technique and the presentation of plates are excellent, i can feel the cook devote his skill and creation in those dishes. chinese steamed bun in stead of bread and butter is amazing specialty.
the wine "book" is interesting, recommended wine matching the course are fresh but young.
not much surprise in courses or wine, but it fits the michelin 1 star title, recommend to go when you are in town.

Enjoying the art of cooking and hospitality with a view of the typical boats in the Scheveningen Harbor. At Het Gouden Kalf, everything revolves around our fresh and seasonal products, a warm atmosphere and accompanying wines. By fresh, we really mean fresh on that exact day. Every morning, our day starts with choosing the freshest and finest ingredients the suppliers and fish markets (known as visafslag) have to offer. These ingredients form the basis of the 3-, 4-, 5-, and 6- course menu and the à la carte dishes that we form to your wishes. Lunch, dinner, meat of the week, fish of the week or vegetarian dishes we create an experience for everyone. Inside or on the best Terrace of the entire harbour! We enjoy an easygoing atmosphere and proudly offer you a varying selection of 35 wines that you can order by the glass. Feel free to ask us for advice or experiment with our wines on your own. See you soon
The Gouden Kalf is always great value from a food / price / discovery perspective. Unfortunately we were sidelined by the staff (because we had the courage to bring our two children ?) and had to schedule two hours between courses ...... Kids patient enough, but they were tested a bit too much.

Calla's is named after the flower 'Calla', the Greek word for beautiful. With its serene loveliness and unassuming character, the Calla is the perfect emblem for the restaurant. The flower's serene beauty also inspired the interior design. Against a background of white, ivory and cream, only the carpeting is a shade of orange coral. Materials used include linen and organza, slate, wood, chrome and glass.FG Stijl of Amsterdam did the interior design. Calla's is housed in what used to be a 19th-century commercial building somewhat reminiscent of a coach- house. On the ground floor is the chef's table, that affords a good view of the kitchen. A long brown table surrounded by high chairs, it accommodates up to eight guests for full meals or alternatively simply an aperitif. On the first floor is the restaurant in which one wall is lined with mirrors. Contact with the ground floor is created by recesses in the large square balustrade surrounding the stairs. Here too, much attention has been paid to detail: the bottles of mineral water are kept in a specially designed plexiglass cooler containing crushed ice.The result is an unassuming, chic interior with white and organic colour accents.
We had dinner here sitting at the chef's table which was a great experience as we could see all the work that went into preparing our meal. Each course was delicious and beautifully presented, and the service was professional and discrete, allowing us to talk between courses and not rushing us. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening, especially the company. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Restaurant Zebedeus, restaurant in Den Haag, is open 7 days a week. Restaurant Zebedeus offers a menu with fresh, local and mostly biological products.
The food was amazing. Try the deer steak for main course. Also vegetarian And vegan options. The fresh mint is with a cinamon stick in it, worth trying. The service i liked very much. They are attentive and quick. Service the way it should be.

Ate here on a Tuesday night, it was fully booked! Asked the waitress for a gluten free sharing meal (husband not gf but we wanted to share)- the kitchen substituted items with no fuss.Waitress explained what everything was . Lots of gorgeous food, fantastic friendly and helpful staff. Great atmosphere because everyone was enjoying their food so much. No ill effects whatsoever afterwards so completely safe to eat there as a coeliac. Don't forget to book though or you may not get in!

We went here, based on the many good reviews. Some of which stated this would be a "Michelin star experience". Having dined in Michelin star restaurants, this gave me totally wrong expectations.
The food certainly is presented fine and original... but the combinations and quality of the food did not exceed the average level.
We found the restaurant also didn't have a cosy or romantic atmosphere. The waiters were slow and couldn't care less about our well being and we had trouble getting their attention. The toilet was malfunctioning and overall I think they forgot to turn on the heating system that day.
Had I known all this, I would have gone in (or avoided it) with different expectations.
But if you're looking to have a decent looking, pretty OK Asian Fusian meal for low prices, this is the place for you.

First time Den Hague but I got this tipped from a friend: what a surprise!
Honestly: you would pass if you were walking by, it really looks like a small bistro. But what you will get on your plate is fantastic!
Hold your horses if you are looking for exquise state-of-the-art fusion arty haute cuisine: this kitchen is about taste and fresh products, the way Italians want it to be. It really felt like dining in Italy.
Nice extra: the price is as honest as the kitchen, no surprises there.

This place is located just a little bit out of the center of Scheveningen. the interior is cosy and the staff friendly, a good ambience in total. the food served is of very good quality and the right proportion. For every dish served you get a good explanation what is on your dish.
They are also very flexible concerning the diner. We asked for a four course surprise diner with only seafood. This is not their normal surprise but they made a good combination of seafood and fish. I would go there much often but I'm living to far away for that.

Only 600 metre from Circustheater and 800 metre from Kurhaus and the boulevard you will find our Lieverd. We serve changing menu´s with seasonal dishes and regional ingredients. You will find dishes from the European kitchen, especially with focus on German-French kitchen. Please feel home and enjoy our menu´s and friendly service.
Nice restaurant with imaginitive dishes. Some of them tasted really good, others less so. The home made soup was very good but the other starter, slices of beet with tiny shrimps and rucola was not our taste. The wienerschnitzel (3 pieces) was good enough but the cold, sour slices potatoe/cucumber didn't agree wth me sadly enough. The dessert apple crumble cake with cream was delicious.
We were warmly welcomed and we wish them all the best with a little more feeling for the Dutch taste.
