My husband and I tried this restaurant on a recent trip to Tarpon Springs. The food was some of the best we’ve ever had! As soon as we walked in the door we knew we had made the right decision. It’s a small, quaint restaurant...MoreThank you for your wonderful review. My husband Jack and I, along with our daughter and son-in-law, welcome you to Rusty Bellies Waterfront Grill. Opened in June of 2005, Rusty Bellies is an achievement of three generations worth of goals spanning some thirty years. We are a family owned and operated establishment. Our family came to Tarpon Springs in the 1970's. My parents, Joe and Sue Reis, began the business by purchasing several boats, including a shrimp boat. Before long they had purchased the boat yard and developed the seafood business. In 1985, Jack and I took over operations, and it wasn't long before Jack began refurbishing boats. In 2002. we launched our shrimp boat, Julie Ann. The Julie Ann produces fresh gulf shrimp for Pelican Point Seafood and Rusty Bellies. Jack has since finished refurbishing the Redman, a grouper fishing boat, and the Crabracadabra, a stone crab boat. To this day the Julie Ann, Redman, and Crabracadabra are still family owned and operated by the Russells. Rusty Bellies Waterfront Grill is named for our family's love of fishing, namely gulf grouper fishing. A "Rusty Bellie" is the nickname given to the large male gag grouper. A "Rusty Bellie" generally ranges between twenty and sixty pounds, and is typically caught by the true at heart fisherpersons. As you look around our restaurant you will see photos of family, friends, and local fisherman that bring the freshest seafood to our dock. The menu gives credit to many of our fishermen by naming the dishes after their beloved boats. Of course, there are too many boats to give credit to each, but keep in mind their dedication to providing FRESH FLORIDA WILD CAUGHT SEAFOOD. It is an honor that we continue what our family began many yeas ago. We value our guests, and we are honored to have you dine with us. Please sit back and enjoy the view and allow us to prepare the freshest seafood, including gluten fee options, available for you. Julie and the Russell Family
We knew nothing about this place but we saw it from our boat ride and one in our group wanted to eat good fresh seafood so we went.
Even being after 8:00 on a Sunday eve it was very busy. We waited a little while for a table inside.
Nice decor clean and modern looking. Great staff too.
We all loved our meals: fresh shrimp, the mother load, chicken sandwich and shrimp pasta!
They catch there own seafood and have the boats parked right beside them...cool! Now that is FRESH!
It is worth walking over this end of town and waiting, if needed, for a table. I believe the patio seating is rather large and could have seated us sooner but it was cooling down and not where our party wanted to sit.
Good Long Island too! Glad we checked it out. :)

I moved to downtown Tarpon Springs the beginning of February 2018. Tarpon tavern is right around the corner. The entire staff is friendly and welcoming and the food definitely hits the spot. Jessica the bartender is definitely one of my favorite people and she never fails to take care me and all of her patrons. I give this place and the staff a thumbs up!!!

My friend had been here a few times in the past and wanted to return and show me how cool it was and tasty. We visited on a weekday for lunch and still had a 20 min + wait. It went fast as you can check out the shops etc.
I liked the ceiling how it was painted like the sky. Lots of interesting decor and little fountains. The staff are all dressed well in white shirts and very professional.
The menu offers a lot to select from for ALL interest and diets. I was very pleased with my shrimp basket and fries. There are plenty of items for kids to enjoy if they are like me when I was younger.
Be sure to stop into the bakery and pick up something to take with you. So much to choose from and all very beautifully done. Restrooms are in the bakery area.
Don't be shy, give this guy a click for 'Helpful info'. It will show you like my help.
There are places down to the right with $5 t-shirts. FYI Buy a sponge...I'm glad I did, love it in the shower!

My wife and I happening to stop in Tarpon Springs the same day as the Greek Parade. Great timing. Stopped in at Mykonos and had an awesome lunch and able to watch the parade go by at the same time. We both had the Gyros, which were phenomenal. A must place to have a meal while in Tarpon Springs.

Prices were less expensive and this place reminds me of a diner. Avgolemno soup, broiled octopus, bread, grilled shrimp and grouper were delicious. We enjoyed saganaki and a beautiful feta cheese plate with anchovies, beets, Kalamata olives, peppers, onion, and tomatoes......all awesome. Would definitely return here! No Greek coffee though

Welcome to the New Tarpon Turtle Grill & Marina. A beautiful Key West Themed Restaurant set on picturesque Lake Tarpon.
I was with a group that stopped by the Tarpon Turtle for lunch. I ordered the Churrasco steak salad and it was awful. It has skirt steak on it and it needs to be cooked fairly well. The meat was barely cooked and looked like...MoreThanks so much for taking the time to review our restaurant. Our apologies for not exceeding your expectations. This is a delightful cafe, popular with cyclists, open for breakfast and for lunch every day except Mondays. The food is very good and priced very reasonably. Everything is cooked to order.

We we’re wandering around Tarpon Springs looking for a place to eat, and we saw a food court set up under tents and decided we wanted something better. We found Parthenon and they had a wonderful special on a grouper sandwich. We decided to also order the Saginaki, because a friend of ours who was with us had never had it. It was delicious!
They were offering the grouper sandwich special blackened, grilled or fried. It came with french fries or potato salad. Two of our group ordered the grilled grouper and I ordered the blackened and we all had the potato salad.
The bun for the sandwich was so fresh I thought they made it on site. Overall we had a great time, the atmosphere was good, and the waiter was very attentive without being intrusive.

Ordered carry out in February 2018. Greek salad for two was awesome! Generous enough for two and was loaded with good feta cheese, olives, beets, potato salad etc. Also had the lamb gyros and a yogurt based dip with pita bread and fried smelt. Everything was very good.
