Now that casinos have spread in South Africa, Sun City is no longer the only gaming hotspot in the country, but it's still visually dramatic. Located two hours from Johannesburg, it's a sprawling complex of luxury hotels, restaurants and Vegas-style shows on the edge of Pilanesberg Game Reserve.

Relax and enjoy a cocktail pool side at the Palace of the Lost City. Light menus incuding wood oven pizzas and salads available all day.
This place in keeping with Sun City is an extravagance in the South African plains with the Pilanes burg Game Reserve just the other side of the valley. The drinks had a good cooling effect beside the pool.

The decor of the Tusk Bar Lounge at The Palace of the Lost City has a colonial feel, dominated by a trio of 5.6 metre arches, each consisting of 2 huge elephant tusks. This classy cocktail bar is open from 07h00 to 00h00 and boasts an extensive list of cocktails which guests can enjoy while the house pianist serenades them. Guests can also enjoy light snacks from 12h30 until 21h00.
Always an absolute joy to have a casual dinner at the Tusk Bar!
It was a beautiful evening and we decided to sit on the patio, where they have gas fires, see
photo, very romantic!
We had our favourite, chicken strips and chips.
My husband said this was the best chicken strips he's ever had!
Its just always enjoyable there!

We celebrated a 50th birthday with a breakfast for 14 guests, and everything was perfect. The staff was excellent, ever attentive, and the entire complement surrounded the table to sing an African Happy Birthday, which brought the birthday girl to tears. The food was superb, the outside setting beautiful, and the atmosphere mirrored the birthday girl's smile. A very memorable occasion made perfect by the Peninsula Restaurant.

The stunning Santorini restaurant specialises in Mediterranean and Greek cuisine – a true culinary delight! Situated at the pool deck of the Cascades Hotel, it is open everyday for lunch and dinner and seats 250 diners. Due to its popularity, bookings are essential.
Tablecloths were filthy as was the floor. Ordered a vegetarian pizza and when it arrived the base was raw. In fairness they quickly replaced it but when we got it there was no olives or rocket that was stated on the menu. The best value for money was the haloumi and bacon wrap with chips. For R55 this was pretty good

The Gary Player Country Club offers breathtaking views of the Gary Player Golf Course. Breakfast is served from 07h00 until 12h00, while a light lunch is served to both golfers and non-golfers from 12h00 until 15h00. The Gary Player bar is open from 07h00 until 19h00. For peckish golfers, snacks are available at the Halfway House situated next to the 9th hole.
My son asked to eat here as everywhere else we had been to was very disappointing, the chillies in his pasta burnt him so much, yet they would not give us more water, we asked 4 times, he was red in the face, I had to run into the bar to no avail, no manager, the chef came out, eventually some 10 minutes later we got water and ice-cream. The waitress was more concerned with still or sparkling than helping us. A lovely venue, with a lovely view, again another disappointment. We packed and left straight away.

The Raj is a halaal restaurant in the Sun City Hotel, offering an array of all flavours, spices and aromas of the finest traditional Indian cuisine. The Raj is open daily for lunch from 11h00 to 15h00 and dinner from 18h00 to 22h00.
I ordered food from the food court stand and considering it is « fast food » there I was not expecting anything great.
But I was very pleasantly surprised: the chicken biriany, lamb roganjosh and yellow dal were great!
The service was fast and friendly (after I broke the ice with a few friendly jokes). Great value for money!

Dine under the crystal chandelier in the Palace of the Lost City's flagship restaurant. Breakfast, Traditional Afternoon Tea and Dinner served daily. Friday and Saturdays family buffet served from the Terrace lakes.
The breakfast comes with the room. Like many other features at the hotel, this is very mixed. The meat carving is left to guests - unsanitary and unsafe. The choices include egg station, pancake station, fruit, fried rice and baked goods. The setting overlooks the pool and surrounding hills. Service is slow and uneven.

Palace of the lost City's fine dining 40 seater restaurant serving a fusion of African and French cuisine. The perfect setting for any special occassion.
Excellent start to the day. Fresh line fish with a touch of lemongrass made an excellent light lunch as we head out to explore The Palace. Attentive staff in a small semi private dining room.

Grill Room has a classic New york steakhouse menu served in a traditional setting overlooking the Palace lakes. Known as serving the best steaks at Sun City. Bookings are made at The Palace Concierge desk.
Went with a group of 10. Service was unbelievably slow, took 2 hours to get food. Food was cold and not special at all. Atmosphere was cramped. Bathrooms not clean. Very hot in the restaurant, no air conditioning and doors not open. This place is not worth the money. Go to Nandos and enjoy yourselves instead.

Spoil your family & eat out at Mohican Spur. We are the best steakhouse & burger restaurant in Sun City. Bring along your kids for some great tasting food & dessert from our famous Spur menu.
Place was full, however the manager and the waiting staff were courteous and kind. Food was strictly average and could have been better. May be due to the rush days. finally the play area, is kind of cramped up and small. To top it it didnt have any age restrictions. My kid a 3 year old had to compete with 10-11 year old ones and had to return back with boot marks on his back side of the shirt (boot size was that of a bigger kid). We didnt raise any complaint or issue as felt we were at the wrong place.
