I eat here 3 or 4 times an week, and my food is always excellent! The owners have pumped a lot of money into upgrading these premises, including turning a talented mural artist loose on the walls. There's now an nice patio outside too. Always busy at dinnertime, the service is fast even when the place is packed! Nice vegetarian options and the best rice and beans anywhere. The salsa and queso are too hot for me, but everything else is just delicious!

Four of us went here for dinner. Two of us had burgers and two of us had pork loin. The burgers were awesome, cooked to perfection and the fries were great too. The pork loins were tender, juicy and very tasty. Portions were very generous. Plenty for two people. When we are in the area we'll definitely go back again.

The restaurant was only open to our group after 12 noon. They had a buffet set up for us . They had a really nice spread of green salad, potato salad, egg salad, baked beans, pulled pork and chicken breast. Desert was ice cream and cookie. Seriously everything I ate was fantastic. Really friendly staff to boot.

We stopped here while traveling and were delighted with the convenience, the food and the great service. They have a varied menu, allowing you to select from breakfast, lunch or dinner, and will prepare it the way you want it. Their pancakes are scrumptious, their soup excellent and it's a clean, comfortable atmosphere. Erika waited on us and was the perfect server - patient, attentive and knowledgeable of their selections. Ask for her! When you're tired and hungry from traveling, this is the place to stop. Highly recommend it and give them an A+ rating.

Short's Place is your perfect example of "the local". It's a great tavern...bar...watering hole...however you prefer to call it, the joint is flat-out a non-pretentious, not fussy or fancy, great place to order up your adult beverage of choice and then just change to a slower gear, relax, chill out.
There's a pool table, a couple video games, some cozy stools at the bar, and also tables and chairs. For those of get the munchies, bar food is available, prepared with hot air fryers, toaster ovens, microwave...depending on what you've ordered.
Price's are very reasonable, the bartending service is friendly and fast.
Short's is not a a huge sports bar like you would find in a big city...it's a cozy, comfortable, local business that keeps the spirit of small-town America going !!!
So the next time your in the area, stop by and recalibrate your schedule for some "relax time" at Short's Place...enjoy !!!

We had been on a motorcycle run to Stuart, IA. Looking for somewhere close to the hotel, the AmericInn staff suggested Foxy's about 1.5 miles away in town. Foxy's is not going to impress you with their decor, tables, or chairs, and looks like a typical small town humble store front. But, when we sat down we were throughly impressed. Each of us went with the sales pitch for the prime rib and were not disappointed. In fact, thinking we would just get a local burger, we were really impressed. Veggie\cheese plate, salads, followed by a thick cut of prime rib cooked perfectly to everyone's liking. Fresh horseradish on request - incredible. One of the best prime rib dinners any of the five of us have had and sure didn't expect. If everything else on the menu is as good, you're in for a treat.

The service was just terrible! The 3 girls were fighting over who was going to take our order because none of them wanted to. They were more focused on their friend in the dining room! Food was just stale and gross! Bathrooms were so nasty there was urine all over the mans bathroom and the womans had an over flowing trash can! This is one subway we will never be stopping at again while traveling!

Guy at the bar was nice enough about it so gave average review. Just wanted folks to know they dont have a lunch menu. They might have dinner.

Coach's Corner is your typical Drive-In Diner/ Ice Cream Shop. The food is very good and reasonably priced. Their chef was previously engaged at Lincoln's Lounge. The sevice can be hit or miss as most of the wait staff are school kids learning the ropes of their first job. The restaurant is conveniently located just a half mile north of Interstate 80, between the city park and the ball diamonds and soccer fields.

We pulled off the interstate at Stuart IA and headed to McDonalds (which is my favorite fast food restaurant). It was late (10:53pm) on a Friday night. There were two other couples sitting at the tables, and one other customer waiting to order. It took over 7 minutes to get our food. The French fries were cold and my double quarter pounder with cheese had one slice of pickle and no onions.....I'm pretty much an expert on the #4 meal deal, and they totally screwed it up. There were five dirty tables in the area we sat at. The catsup pump had catsup all over the handle and counter. One of the sinks in the mens restroom was clogged. Long story short, I've rated this McDonalds at the WORST in America. Congratulations Stuart IA McDonalds.
