Known as "Train Town USA," historic Strasburg is the home of numerous rail-based attractions. Take a 45-minute ride on the nation's oldest short-line railroad or wander through the halls of The National Toy Train Museum or The Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. Strasburg and the surrounding Lancaster County are also home to the Amish, making it possible to visit a traditional Amish Village, ride in horse drawn buggies, shop for handmade goods, and try the cooking of the Pennsylvania Dutch.

I was in the mood for a delicious treat. The treat needed to be something special, something I could not buy around my area. We were driving up to beautiful Lancaster with the pretty farms and views. My mind went directly to the
wonderful treat I had some months before. I went to the Strasburg Creamery and ordered one of the most DELICIOUS milkshakes ever.
The milkshake gave me a spring in my step and I loved ever drop. A wonderful clean quaint place to visit. Great for all ages. They have booths and tables inside. A unusual country store that sells a little of everything. A fun place to visit and snack and shop. My two favorite things.

The only downside to stopping here to eat is that when you leave, you feel like you've stuffed yourself on Thanksgiving. We both got the buffet, but I'm sure ordering from the menu would help with the self restraint. We had a few minutes wait for the table, but it's worth it. They were busy, but kept refilling the buffet containers. There are many things to choose from including meats, veggies, salads, and desserts. If you don't like real food, you should probably stick with McDonalds. I saw people filling containers, so I guess take-out is an option. The server was friendly as was the hostess.

Sugar On Top is a gem of Pennsylvania. It has it all. A great location in beautiful, historic Strasburg, nice employees, cute atmosphere and super-delicious donuts. Always fresh and done to perfection, these donuts can't be topped. Speaking of toppings, toppings abound - with just about everything under the sun served to your specifications. I like the cherry cheesecake variety. Reasonable prices, too. Better come now because this place is going to be famous one day.

We came here on a bus trip of about forty people. They took us to a back room which appeared to have a stage. Everything was very clean and the food arrived quickly. We had salad and a pesto crusted fish I believe. The food...MoreWe were so glad to have your group here. I will pass along your compliments to our staff.

At Good 'N Plenty Restaurant, we are pleased to offer our guests family style dining, menu dining, a takeout program, an award winning bake shop and an extensive gift shop. Bring family, friends and neighbors to enjoy our traditional Lancaster County home cooking. See and taste why we have been chosen as one of AAA's Top Ten BEST "down home dining" restaurants in North America as well as voted "the best" local PA Dutch restaurant. We look forward to serving you!!
The name of the restaurant really says it all. It's upretentious, and both the food and staff are warm. We ate smorgasbord style, seated with a mixture of people (some local, some tourists like us) and really enjoyed everything. In fact the lunch was so hearty we didn't feel the need for dinner! The price was also excellent - we were given a coupon from someone who was leaving so we ended up paying around $15 per person - a steal considering the amount and quantity of food!
I especially enjoyed the buttered noodles and the fried chicken. The beets were amazing too. The apple cutter and creamed butter were delicious too. The desserts were fine but by the time they rolled around I had no more appetite!

Family-owned & operated since 1972.
This is the place that MapQuest will take you to if you tap in bird in hand Pennsylvania. Their bake goods and snacks are the best. There’s farm animals that the kids can check. They have many high-quality crafts. We found the prices here slightly less than what was in the main town.

This was a quick stop on our way to Lancaster and we wanted to see what Shoe Fly Pie was. The pie is very sweet and good and if you like Pecan Pie , you will also like this. They have a huge gift shop and its a fun stop.

We visited this restaurant for dinner recently while vacationing in the area. We liked it so much we came back a second night. Fantastic atmosphere, great drinks, and the service was excellent, despite being super busy both nights. Oh, and the food! I had the baked ravioli, and it was hands down the best ravioli dish I've ever had (and I've had more than a few). Highly recommended!

If you want good home style food & get away from the chain restaurant's on Rt. 30, this is your place. They are open for breakfast, lunch & dinner, except Sundays. We've had all 3 meals here, everything is so tasty. Try their homemade strawberry jelly, which they keep right at the table. The Amish Wedding dinner is exceptional. And the desserts - wow! Service excellent, everyone friendly. Not a large restaurant, so come early before the standard meal times. Prices reasonable, portions good sized.
