Coach Lane Restaurant @ Donaghy's Bar is a multi-award-winning family run eatery located in the heart of Sligo. Check out our Instagram, Facebook and Twitter too, @coachlanesligo for the latest mouthwatering snaps!
This place.... as there isn't much competition in Sligo is good, the staff are good, the place is good, the food and it's presentation is good.. but it could be and SHOULD be so much better...Another hopeful visit last Saturday evening with another couple left me feeling rushed...(10 pm... forcing us downstairs to a practically empty bar) and although my friends husband had phoned that morning to say it was her 50th birthday & could they acknowledge it...one scoop of icecream and a sparkler was the acknowledgement...we spent at least 200 euro...my 6 year old had a mocktail made for her in Bianconis! Surely the pastry chef could have managed to write her name on a plate...?!... I rest my case..again....

Everything about this restaurant is amazing. From the moment you walk in you know you're in a place that appreciates food. The venue, the atmosphere, the lighting, the cosiness. I've been here several times and its always been wonderful. Its definitely the best restaurant in Sligo for fine dining. It provides locally sourced produce and brings out the best of it with their varied and exciting menu. The starters, mains and dessert were just absolutely delicious as was the large variety of wine offered. The service is also what makes this an enjoyable experience as the waiters are food lovers themselves and develop a nice rapport with their customers. We didn't want to leave at the end of it, learnt a lot about the dishes and where they're sourced from, and were more than satisfied by the taste, quantity and presentation of each dish. Highly recommend this place for people who know how to eat and appreciate food.

Great atmosphere, tables are on on top of each other, staff very friendly, helpful and efficient.
Chicken wings are divine
Crab claw main courses- biggest crab claws we have seen and a good portion size. Sauce is superb. A slightly fresher bread is the only possible improvement on this.
Steaks- what can we say?...? Let’s put it this way; every main course we saw on other tables looked lovely and there was a great selection to choose from BUT you must have the steak!!!
The nicest fillet steak I have had in a long time and as authentic as you could get- onions, mushroom, choices of sauces and potatoes- flavoursome at its very best.
The Venue is a long way from home for us- but it was certainly the highlight of our short trip to the area and we will make another trip in the future built around dining in The Venue again.
Good value too!!!
Highly highly highly highly recommended.

A must visit for anyone going to Sligo for a weekend. Great tasting food served with a smile. Salads, sandwiches, souo, fantastic cakes and a great view of the Atlantic waves rolling into Co. Sligo.

We had a lovely dinner here on our last night in Strandhill. My fish was fresh and well-prepared. We loved the courgette soup that came as an amuse bouche and also enjoyed the black pudding lasagne. It was a great way to end our trip.

We visited here on a Monday afternoon and were welcomed and entertained by a friendly bar man. He talked to us about the history of the area and we had great conversation. The decor was great and full of history. Unfortunately the kitchen is currently closed and they’re unlikely to be serving food again until April due to a few set backs. There were only 2 other people in the bar at the time as it was out of season. I think this place would be great at a busier time of the year and when the kitchen has reopened!

The Strand Bar (est 1913) nestled between mythic Knocknarea and the famous surf beach of Strandhill, has for many generations been the favoured social spot for locals and tourists alike.Just ten minutes drive from Sligo, close to the airport and one of Europe’s most magnificent Surfing Beaches, this well-known bar has a big welcoming turf fire, cosy snugs and friendly staff.
We went with friends, just on the off chance, not really thinking about lunch. The place was packed with local residents, roaring fire, wonderful atmosphere and friendly, attentive staff persuaded us to stay for lunch. The menu was extensive, service quick and the food was delicious, with generous portions. It was a great experience, we will most certainly go back when we are next in Co Sligo next year.

Eala Bhan Restaurant in Sligo Town offers the best in fine dining, specialising in fresh Seafood and Steak.
I’ve been to Eala Bhan many times. The fish and chips are the lightest and most delicate I’ve had. Seasonal menus make it hard to decide between all of the lovely choices, and the staff are attentive and discreet. I highly recommend.

Great authentic gelato made on the premises served with a story and a smile by the man from Florence himself.
All flavours served in various sizes of cup or cone are top notch.
