We had lunch at Lindig's on the way to Fredericksburg. Unfortunately, there was a very large number of people and they were obviously understaffed. The food was O.K. Nothing to complain about but then again, nothing to brag about.

Loved the town overall and this place had great coffee, lunch, and bakery items - even for those needing gluten free. The Turkey bacon club was great with gluten free and regular bread. We also really enjoyed the gluten free snickerdoodle cookie....had we been hungrier, we would have had a gluten free coconut macaroon and possible the apple strudel that looked amazing.

It's very pleasant to have coffee at Java Ranch... nice, rustic atmosphere and good service. Our coffee and hot chocolate were very good, but the cherry and apple strudels we had were only average. Located conveniently downtown on historical Main St. in charming Fredericksburg.

Breakfast is served all of the time! Best breakfast in Fredericksburg, TX. Set in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, the Sunset Grill features inspired dishes using the freshest ingredients from local growers to create a memorable dining experience. When you experience our cuisine, attentive service and friendly atmosphere we believe we'll become one of your favorite places to dine. We invite you to come in and see what makes us one of the most popular restaurants in the Hill Country. Sunset Grill - A Classic American Bistro.
The Sunset Grill is off Fredericksburg's Main Street which is a tourist magnet, deservedly so. On a non-descript Tuesday my bride & I went with several TripAdvisor reviews took a chance. Suffice it to say, the TripAdvisor five star reviews were on the mark. While the Sunset Grill may not rate five stars in Los Angeles or Dallas, it certainly deserves the rating in Fredericksburg. The challenge is to make a selection from a fantastic menu, all of which come out of the kitchen to perfection. My lunch entrée was the Seafood Caesar Salad which was FANTASTIC, a crab cake, five grilled shrimp, tilapia, bacon, tomato, parmesan, very nice. (One has to remember, a Caesar salad from a authentic French restaurant and everywhere else is not the same). My bride's seafood tostada was also very nice,,, Prompt service, outdoor seating, a great value. A nice place for good friends who appreciate good food and romantic couples. The outdoor seating is very nice.

Surrounded by several excellent wine (and bourbon) tasting rooms, this rustic lunch bar offers excellent food, interesting decor, friendly staff and reasonable prices. It’s hard to believe but you can spend an entire day around Hye if your into wine tasting. Interesting place in history as LBJ and staff were regulars back in the day.

We went to Luckenbach - population 3. When there is live music on a Sunday afternoon, the Luckenbach Feed Lot cafe attracts a lot more people. We loved the pulled park sandwiches and the sopapillas with honey. Yum.
Its a fun place for a meal. There are lots of picnic tables. One can watch the chickens and the roosters as one enjoys eating The cat however was sound asleep.

I tried on several occasions to make reservations at The Austin Restaurant at the Rose Hill Manor. Left several messages including messages as to the purpose of my phone call and never received a call back. It was our anniversary and we were hoping to make it a nice night at Rose Hill Manor but found a very nice place in town. Surely a place can't be so busy as to not return a phone call.

It was Friday night and finished hunting early enough and was excited for their weekly Friday night fish fry special. It was disappointing from the moment we arrived. Fries were cold and old. When they finally brought out some more, they were cold too. Fish had been picked over, was cold, and spare choices. It looked like seconds or left overs literally. We were very disappointed. Food was edible and we didn't get sick so gave an okay rating for cold food. It was not near closing either which made it worse.

This place is set back off of main street so you have to look for it. It's very basic with picnic tables outside, but they have very good burgers, their tornado fries are quite tasty, and the price is good too.
