We were told to stop here for dessert. My wife got a cone stacked high. They put a paper cup on top to keep it from tipping over. I’m not a big hard Ice cream lover so I ordered malt that was made like the good ole days. It was huge and delicious. It’s off the beaten path so use google maps for directions. Worth it. Closed now til spring

My wife and I wanted to walk around Stillwater so we ordered Americanos to help us do so. The flavor of the coffee was great and the price was pretty good ($2.50 each as I recall). We saved our cups and about 45 minutes later we returned to the Daily Grind for 75 cent refills of house coffee. That coffee variety was very tasty too. We recommend Daily Grind. Good work everyone there!

LoLo is a welcoming restaurant in Stillwater. A pleasant tourist town in Minnesota. I found it beautiful blanketed in powdery snow in April. LoLo is warm, lots of wood, dim lights, people taking shelter from the cold outside in whispering mode. Even in bad weather, it can be packed. Because it is really good. It is American cuisine revisited with fantasy. Mostly meat, but there is a lot for vegetarians too. As a Veg-lover I found their Brussel sprouts quite amazing. I mean...I do not like sprouts, but they know how to make them tasty. Really tasty...My relatives had meat, and they loved it. Portions are generous, more than I can eat. But I am not a big eater. Yet, if you order a burger, it will come with lots of stuff...I did not have a burger, but my relatives did. These were..huge...And we had olives...so good. Cheese...so good. We were happy with the food and the ambience. We felt at home. And I...being cosmopolitan, can only praise this place. It is honest. It is nice. Food is good. It also has a funny twist on drinks. I wanted bubbles. I got my wine in a strange glass, but it was fun...no stem. My relative Sarah, she likes her beer and Minnesota has lots of small breweries. She had coffee beer...and it came in a glass with a stem...how lovely.
If you think of spending a week end in lovely Stillwater, and I mean it- I am Australian...and Italian...- LOVELY Stillwater, ...please have your lunch or dinner at LoLo. It is worth.

Old fashioned Burgers & Malts. Featuring Full Service Dining, Walk-Up Window Ice Cream & an Outdoor Patio. Located in the heart of historic Stillwater, MN on the St. Croix River.
This place is always packed full and now we know why! It’s a tiny little shop, but there’s a large menu and extra-friendly customer service. We liked our down-home cookin’ chicken noodle soup; the burger & fries were made to satisfy; plus a highlight is the delicious malts & shakes with flavors to please (you can even combine flavors). Large persons (6’ & over): this is a tiny place with diminutive, cramped chairs and booths - you may not fit in here very comfortably. The setting is very ‘50’s (including original-size seating options from that era--where everything was a bit smaller).

Cut-to-order artisan cheese shop and cheese bar featuring the finest regional American and European cheeses and charcuterie, cheese flights, wine and beer pairings.
We've often used Trip Advisor for our travels, but only recently have been using it to find local gems that we might not know about. Well, The Wedge and Wheel is one of those! We were out and about over the weekend, and stopped in...MoreThanks Jeanne!

My husband and I had a gift card for this place and we were so excited to have our first date out after the birth of our first child. The prime rib here is fantastic and they have a decent bar. However, their seating policy does not respect their customers' time and the owner attending the door is rude and dismissive in his explanation of it.
They don't take reservations so my husband and I showed up around 6pm hoping we could be could be seated around 7pm. We went in, gave our names, were told the approx 1 he wait, and said, ok, thanks, we will run downtown for a bit and come back. The owner said, no, if you leave we take your name off the list. Well, there was no room inside the sardine-like bar area and it was too cold to be waiting outside for an hour so we left.
As we were standing trying to decide where to go, we overheard a family say they had been waiting 45 minutes and were wondering how much longer the wait would be. The owner said he had taken them off the list because he hadn't seen them waiting inside or outside so he assumed they left. He hadn't called them for a table, he just was looking around and didn't see them. They had two children under the age of five with them and said they kids were cold so they had waited in the car. They were told one hour wait when the initially gave their names so they came back after 45 mins to check in. They asked the owner if there was anything he could do. He said no, our policy is if the customer leaves to take them off the list. The mom, very kind and calm, reiterated that they had simply been waiting in the car because of their small children. He said there was nothing he could do and immediately turned away. No apology, zero empathy, completely dismissive.
My husband and I later returned at 4 pm another evening, used up our gift card and will never return. As Stillwater is a fun local destination, a lot of friends who love in the Cities and in Hudson ask us where to go and we always say, Green Room or Marx, and avoid Phil's Tara Hideaway.

Serves Breakfast All Day & The Best Burgers in the Valley!
Early breakfast with "the Boys" on a busy, winter Saturday morning. Plenty of free parking. Dated exterior and interior could use refreshing but, even so, the atmosphere is cozy and friendly. Limited seating. Friendly and attentive servers. Extensive breakfast menu. Generous portions. Very reasonably priced. My buckwheat pancake with blue berries and bananas was HUGE.

We were excited to get a seat on their relaxing outdoor patio. Wine lovers plate was good, but it lacked meat and maybe some fruit for the cheese. Wine list was pretty good, service very knowledgeable and friendly! Risotto was OK, wasn't a fan of all the balsamic.

Really good food, large portions. Nice outdoor seating area. Prices are reasonable, good service. Kind of dark inside.
