We were told this restaurant serves authentic Greek food. They were correct. This family owned business caters to their customers. The service and food were great. The only issue is their location in a small strip mall. If you didn't know it was there, you're going to drive by. Spotswood, NJ is a small town and businesses are grouped together. So use your GPS and you will not have any trouble finding it. The atmosphere needs an update. While it is a family-owned business, they need to update the decor. Otherwise, this a great place to eat.

I usually get a bagel with cream cheese, and it has yet to disappoint. My parents like how "light and fluffy" their bagels are, but I haven't really noticed a big difference compared to other place's bagels.
The coffee is pretty good, too.
A little small inside, but that's understood because it's designed as a takeout/grab and go place.

BYOB New American bistro in a downtown, art-gallery setting. Amazing food and great service. Serving lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch (closed Monday and Tuesday).
I highly recommend this restaurant. Attention to detail and service was excellent. Food was amazing! Turbo liner burger was yummy - angus beef, French fried onion straws, bacon-onion jam, Dubliner cheese. Fries were crispy and Cole slaw was fresh, bright, and crispy. Hubby loved crab cake melt. For dessert, pecan pie cake was perfect - served warm, with whipped cream.

Stopped in here for a quick coffee and donuts while driving through the area. Clearly asked if they honored the AARP discount (free donut with a large coffee) and she said yes. Showed her my membership card, and ordered. Only later did I discover that I was charged for the donut. Makes you wonder if they listen to what you say. The cashier spoke perfect English so do not understand what went wrong, but will be skipping this chain when I am back in the area. Find this annoying.

Great warm friendly service, the food was very good. I loved the homemade Chicken Soup. We enjoyed our main course selections of Picadinho Misto, 1/2 Chicken 1/2 Pork Combo, Chicken Madeira, Chicken in Garlic over Rice and our youngest member was thrilled with his chicken fingers and fries. We told the owner/server that our youngest member had severe nut allergies and were reassured that his selections were nut free. She also recommended a nut free dessert for him. The appetizer plate of Smoked Sausage, Salt Cod Fritters and Shrimp Patties was enjoyed by all of us. The plates are very large and we had a lot of take home containers. They have great crusty rolls and we tried two different desserts, Flan and a light Cream Cake, both were quite good. They do not serve alcohol. When I am back in this area I certainly will take my family there again for dinner.

My wife has been bugging me about this restaurant for weeks. They only serve breakfast and lunch. Well, today we went to find out what is all the rage. Thank heavens that we called ahead for reservations for a Saturday morning. The wait time was only a few minutes so we decided to go. When we arrived, the wait time was nearly 40 minutes without reservations. We were first to be seated because we called ahead.
The restaurant is small and most likely seats 60 people. They are expanding but the construction will not be completed for several more weeks. The waiter was terrific in explaining the menu. Why explain the menu, you say? Well, if we had to read all of the varieties of breakfast food, it would have taken 10-15 minutes. He was very helpful to point out the local favorites. I ordered the lumberjack special which has all of the meats while my wife ordered a potato pancake with a skillet of Spanish-style egg dish. The portions were extraordinarily large. Almost to the point that I could not finish it. But soldiering on, I managed to stuff my face. My wife was more polite and took have of it home.
The food quality is great. Our meals were served both hot and fresh. The taste was also well above average for a diner. The atmosphere is very cozy and family friendly. It is truly inviting to small family groups and couples. While there is a variety of booths and tables for seating, there is some counter space for those who want eat alone.
In short, this is a two thumbs up recommendation for anyone in the Old Bridge, NJ area. They also have at least one other location in NJ. So gather up the clan and head over for a great dining experience. You'll be glad you did after you have had your fill of a wonderful meal.

The bagels are fresh, the freshly brewed coffee is excellent and the prices are very reasonable.
This out of the way bagel store is located in the Shoprite shopping center in Spotswood, New Jersey on the East Brunswick border. Bagel one opens at 5:30 AM for those early morning hunger pangs.

You go to Gennaro's for the pizza, as this is the specialty. I have tried the other main dishes and subs that they have to offer and to be honest, have not been impressed. The Pizza is the standout option here.

Busy Saturday night with good service, beer menu was extensive with a wide selection and a menu that had a bit of everything. The appetizers were good, fried goat cheese and pork belly. Burgers were solid (one vegetarian and one regular) but duck dish fell flat - under seasoned and a little underdone.

My girlfriends and I went for a night out with our husbands to MJ's on Friday night (Sept.9) The bartenders were fast and the drinks were awesome (and strong for the price!) Jeff was absolutely fantastic. We come back regularly and will continue doing so. Thanks Jeff!
