This restaurant is just a block off the main highway and well worth going around the block. The sign in front says for locals and other special people. It's not real large but has plenty of tables, some in a couple rooms off the main restaurant. We noticed a couple tables with 8-10 seats and they were always full. Big menu and lots of specials each day and very good food. Fun wait staff that do everything great. Open each day for breakfast and lunch. So if in the area don't miss this one.

At the heart of our success are satisfied guests and happy employees, but it all starts with our menu. We strive to create dishes that you simply can't find anywhere else. Yes, we have the classics, but we also feature dishes that are exclusive to Green Mill. But, even the best recipes in the world don't cut it without the best ingredients available. Nearly all of Green Mill dishes are made from scratch everyday with the freshest ingredients available - many that are provided from local suppliers. Dine in, carry out, delivery, and catering are all available from your Green Mill in Willmar, MN.
Nice restaurant sports bar for the younger crowd I'm sure, but the food was a little too spicy for us seniors. I ordered the Hawaiian Hamburger and my mouth was still burning after we finished lunch. My granddaughter ordered the Chicken Alfredo and picked off...MoreThank you for the review! We’re happy to hear you enjoyed our service, however, we’re sorry to hear about the food you received. We find this place consistently good. One would think all DQ's would be equal but this one always excels. My son has not been there for a while and commented without prodding on the quality of his blizzard. Drive out from Willmar for this experience.

Such a little gem in this cute downtown- my first stop was January 2016 - was just traveling through town on my way to South Dakota and decided to take a lunch break here- then made a point of stopping again (twice) on a second trip across the state. First impression: quaint, warm, relaxing - loved the old hardwood floors and wood tables and paintings on the wall. The staff were always friendly and relaxed with a "no worries" attitude and accommodating to dietary restrictions if needed. The food was tasty - homemade soup, wonderful rich coffee , quiche and fruits for breakfast, wraps sandwiches and salads at lunch- wine if you're interested- prices were reasonable- wish I would have had more time to browse some of the other shops along the street.

We visited friends at their Green Lake home for July 4th. The weather was lovely and the town -- and this resturant -- were buzzing. My friend had the walleye sandwich -- who can pass up walleye in Minnesota? It was excellent -- white and...MoreJennie, Thank you for your kind review! McKale's is a family restaurant located in downtown New London, off of Central Ave and Ash Street. It's across from the Bowling Alley and Post Office, next to the Little Theatre. We serve breakfast all day, lunch and dinner menu items available, a bakery and freshly ground coffee. Take out orders are available along with special orders for pies, cookies, cakes and breads. We will have some exciting menu additions soon. We welcome reservations for our larger event room for up to 50 people. We'll soon, in May 2016, be opening for dinner hours on Friday and Saturdays.
My wife and I were staying in Spicer area and did some sightseeing which included New London. Asked the locals where the best place to eat was and McKales was at the top of everyones list. We walked up to the restaurant and were warmly welcomed by the staff. Everything looks to be pretty much home made. We had breakfast which I believe they serve all day and it was absolutely wonderful. Good sized portions and very reasonable. Do yourselves a favor if in New London and try a meal here, you won't be disappointed!

we were staying at the attached Best Western Plus Hotel so this was really convenient for us to come for a drink and wings. Service was good, décor good. The white zinfandel for happy hour was fine. The chicken wings were tasty and sticky. We were happy.

This restaurant has so much potential ... and I swear ... we had the hardest working server I've ever experienced. First ... when you walk through the front door you immediately notice the musty smell of a place that has experience water damage. But the setting and decor is beautiful. Don't dine inside if you don't want to put up with the musty aroma. They do have outside seating which is quaint and beautifully set up on the shore of Green Lake. Don't go at dusk unless you enjoy MN mosquitoes. The menu is limited but has nice choices. I ordered the ribeye special and my wife ordered the crab stuffed halibut. My wife's meal was delicious and prepared to perfection. I ordered my steak medium rare. Half of it was medium and half of it was rare. So I guess it was medium rare. My baked potato was cold. When our bill came, I paid with a credit card. When it came back with the receipt, there was no place to leave a tip. Our waitress was phenomenal ... one of the best I've ever experience anywhere. She was prompt, friendly and helpful on menu selections. She was only one of two servers in the place that we saw and we rarely saw the other server. When I asked her where we should leave the tip, she said, "don't worry about it. If you want to leave a cash tip, you can, but the owner refuses to update her software to allow for tips." Egads! This kind of illustrates the problem with this place. It's got such great potential, but the owner refuses to invest what is required to really make this place go. I've never owned a restaurant so I can't appreciate the challenges they face here. However, from a customer's perspective, this place is sorely in need of some professional advice. I can't believe they get many return customers.

I stopped here for a beer and pizza. Wonderful! I had the personal pizza and it exceeded my expectations. About 25 beers on tap...good selection. Friendly staff. I'll be back!
