The Hill family opened Dawson's on Main in June of 2006. We are known for friendly service, great hand-cut steaks, fresh seafood, local craft beers, and the best Hoosier tenderloin around. Come buy and introduce yourself and see what you have been missing. We are a full service restaurant on beautifully renovated Main Street. We are conveniently located directly across the street from the most famous racetrack in the world in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Come check us out.
Getting to a central location for dinner on a Friday evening early enough to go to Winterlights is a challenge. A multi-car accident on I-69 slowed the couple from Fishers. The staff worked with us, and the service was perfect. Our delayed party arrived within seconds of their dinners and ours coming to the table. They had texted us the orders and it all worked out.
The choices around the table varied, a meatball appetizer, Mustard Crusted Chicken, Crab Cakes, Tilapia, Baby Back Ribs. All were consumed with gusto and enjoyed. The volume remained low enough to enjoy conversation within our booth despite a full dining room.

Evidently, no one is aware that the Southport location exists. It's hard to differentiate between the two but I have a slight bias for the Southport (south side of Indy) location. If you get there early enough the doughnuts will melt in your mouth, making it difficult to stop at just one. You don't have to stop at the doughnuts though they're a special treat. A friendly, efficient staff adds to the experience. We've lived in many cities and I've never run into a match for Long's.

We went here for dessert after eating at another restaurant for dinner. Yogurt is okay. I prefer other places (like Orange Leaf) because I think the yogurt tastes better. Nice that you can try the flavors before buying with the sample cups. Staff consisted of young kids. Did not seem particularly interested in helping us.

With apologies to my former tenderloin hang outs, this is the place I will go to when I want a great tenderloin sandwich. I've had pulled pork sandwiches here but had not tried the tenderloins what a pleasant surprise this is seriously awesome food, nice atmosphere, great food, outdoor seating and indoor tables and the bar, this is on Main street in Speedway the latest and greatest new Foodie area of Indianapolis, my view whilst eating was turn one grandstand of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. I can't wait to get back here and enjoy this place again

We came here with a large group 15. Everyone found something they wanted. Many gluten free options including brownies and cookies. We had omelets at our table all very good. Gluten free waffles were a hit. The price is reasonable, foods were fresh, service was relatively quick and friendly. They estimated our wait 25 min and we were seated in 10 min. I would go back. This is a breakfast/lunch place. They close early.

We had wings and a burger--ordinary choices, but with extraordinary flavor. Wings were probably the best I've ever had at a restaurant. Burger was terrific with brie and unique flavors. We shared apple bread pudding which was out of this world. Visited Mug and Bun this past weekend. Elected the eat in service area. Nothing fancy but food was good and tasty. We were the only ones in the restaurant at the time but still had to get up and ask for drink refills.

While visiting our friends who live in speedway, we came here for breakfast/lunch. Been here before once with them a couple years ago. Food is good, got chicken salad sandwich and chips. Husband got blt and chips. Friends got breakfast. They get very busy here, it's a very happening place. A very large menu. Race car drivers are always spotted here. Would return

GREAT experience here- I had tried their tamales from their small spot at City Market, so knew this was worth driving across the city for. The very kind and welcoming lady gave us the whole explanation about all the food, made great recommendations and even brought us a free dessert tamale. Everything was absolutely delicious, tamales were great, and we especially loved the pork tacos. It's cheap, too. A+, definitely intend to return.
