Golden East is a small, owner-run restaurant in Midstate Mall, and the absolute BEST Chinese food for many, many miles! They are ALWAYS busy and ALWAYS friendly and welcoming. Several Asian buffets have opened in the spot next to them, and every one closed within a few months...no one can touch the outstanding food, service and reasonable prices!!

La Tavola Cucina, or the kitchen table, has become the best kept secret in the Central Jersey area. Creatively led by owners Jill and Steve Sullivan, La Tavola Cucina provides a whole new dining experience of exceptional food and impeccable service for a great value in a comfortable atmosphere. The innovative menu offers a variety of options sure to please any palate. The chef uses only the freshest ingredients and the wines offered are chosen for quality as well as value.
We decided to try La Tavola Cucina with two other couples for dinner after reading several positive reviews. We were a little disappointed. Service was very slow. One couple's appetizer wasn't served until after we had finished ours. he drink order was mixed up. Several different servers handled our table, which might have caused the confusion. Our dinners were good.

We ordered four different ice-creams and each one was better than the other.
The hot fudge brownie and hot fudge peanut we're very very delicious.
The ice creams are of very high quality and you can tell it is home made and does not have any added preservatives.
A little harsh on the wallet.

This restaurant is far better than many other restaurants in the area. It would have been five (5) stars but there was limited handicap parking when it was extremely cold outside. I had to park halfway done the strip mall to get one of the only parking spots (handicapped or otherwise). There is simply not enough parking for the volume of patrons.
The atmosphere is simply elegant and totally professional. The waiter was very attentive and considerate to our needs. This restaurant is BYOB since they don't have a liquor license, which is hard to believe since it's an primo restaurant.
The Cesar salad was ginormous and tasty. The seafood specials were divine. They were seasoned extremely perfectly and each dish exhibited a well balance of flavor.
The desserts were the outstanding as well. The coffee was not to my liking even though I am a coffee drinker. This is one area of improvement.
This restaurant gets two thumbs up despite the shortfalls. Hopefully, change can be made so that we can return soon.

The ice cream shopped is a staple within this small town. It features all types of ice cream with all of the desirable toppings. Although is somewhat off the path, it is truly a great find if you and your family want to enjoy ice cream treats during the hot summer. The atmosphere is dated but that is what makes it so nostalgic and wonderful. It this was modernized it would loose all of the tradition of being a great place to share a delight with people who you love and enjoy, This is a place that everyone will remember and want to return to repeat same experience.

This quaint small town ice cream parlor is fantastic. They not only have terrific tasting ice cream, they support local events for the schools Milltown children attend & they employee local high school students & the owner, Joan, couldn't possibly be nicer.
They even have a special price for young children who fit under counter height!!
If you try this place, I'm sure you'll like it. The only bad thing can be the wait because they're so popular.

this was our second visit and we were not disappointed. it started off a little rough, not the fault of the restaurant. somehow there was an error in our Open Table reservation. Not to worry they found us a booth in the bar area. This wouldn't have been bad except for the overly loud and rude table behind us. When I brought this to the attention of the hostess she immediately moved us to another room. and said not to worry about our salads and drinks they would take care of it. If only all restaurants were this accommodating .
now to the meal. appetizers were claims for our friend and chorizo with onions, peppers in an unbelievable sauce. We all ordered different entrees paella with lobster for me, shrimp for my friend a fish stew with lobster in green sauce and the same for my other friend, but in a red sauce. All the food was way above what many have come to expect from a Portuguese restaurant.
Try it you'll love it.

We serve fresh custom chopped salads, sandwiches, cold pressed juice, smoothies, & soup in a modern, colorful environment. Order online or on our mobile app for pickup or delivery.
This is an AMAZING place!! The salads are awesome. They have so many choices to pick from or if nothing piques your interest you can make your own. Now I have heard people complain about the noise from chopping the salad. That is what makes these salads so good. If the noise bothers you go somewhere else. I also wondered if this was a franchise and spoke to the owner about the possibility of opening other stores, Hopefully one much closer to my house. We travel about 40 mins to get here and it is worth it. We have some Saladworks in our area but they don't even come close. Art of Salad is so clean , the food is always so fresh, soups are delicious, all the ingredients are so healthy. This is an extraordinary concept and someone needs to partner with this man to open other stores!!!

Went with neighbors who highly recommended a new Thai/French Restaurant on Ryder's Lane in Milltown, NJ. The menu featured many Thai classics with a different twist. Since the chef studied in Paris, the menu had continental accents. Truly delicious combinations, attractively presented. It may have been the first time we were there, but it won't be the last.
