My spouse and I went out for lunch, and I ordered the Salmon Salad, with avocados, lime vinaigrette on the side, spinach, mushrooms, and a hot chocolate. Everything was delicious, tho they used to have a salad with candied walnuts, cranberries, blueberries and chicken, and that no longer is offered. My spouse had the Mango Free-range chicken Panini, which was terrific! The porter he ordered was expensive but good. I have not had a bad or only so-so meal here ever, and can definitely recommend it as a reliable tasty meal.

With so few restaurants in this rural area, it's hard to believe that one is really good! Gold Vine Grill would be great even if it had to compete in the gourmet ghetto! The choices are excellent and very well prepared; the service is down-home friendly; the prices are quite reasonable. And the wine -well, this is wine-country so the choices are wonderful.
We went there two nights in a row!

We ate here based on others' reviews and we were not disappointed. We sat out on the back porch and were greeted promptly. We were looking for just a small meal and ordered tacos a la carte. They were delicious! The menu is large and varied and everyone around us mentioned to the waitress how much they enjoyed their food. It's one of the only places to eat in Camino and it is very good.

It's the Wandering Yank here. Friends recently recommended Allez! highly, and since we love to eat, especially French food, we had to try it. My birthday was the perfect excuse.
A great idea it turned out! It's small and not exactly fancy, in a old-looking building (maybe new and made to look old, I'm not sure) that's part of the charm. We arrived at 4 on a beautiful Sunday afternoon (they're open 11-8 5 days a week). The menu is surprisingly extensive - check it online. We began with a bottle of Madrona Malbec, a local winery. Most of the wines on offer are local, a nice touch. The attentive waitress recommended the rack of lamb, as it's quite popular. Mrs. Yank had that, and it was excellent! Cooked perfectly (medium-rare), 4 mustard-encrusted chops with French white beans. I had the filet mignon with bearnaise sauce. The meat was a bit bland, but the sauce was superb. We followed it up with Caesar salads, with one of the best Caesar dressings (home-made) we've ever had. And dessert - chocolate mousse and profiteroles with almond filling. Overall, an outstanding meal.
For what we had, the prices were very reasonable - the most expensive entree is $29. And the wine list was also very reasonable, both by the bottle and the glass.
2 enthusiastic thumbs up! Next time, maybe boeuf bourguignon, coq au vin, paella, cassoulet, homemade charcuterie...

A decent place to stay while in Fairplay. Next door to several wonderful wineries and run by very nice ladies. They claim bed and breakfast which is true, but the breakfast part is frozen waffles in the fridge. Nice and romantic if you need a place to go.

This is a breakfast and lunch place. The food was very good and plenty. We stopped here for brunch one day. My wife had the hamburger and I had the country fried steak. Both were very good. I heard good things about Katie's when they cater BBQ at Amador Brewing in Plymouth on Saturdays. The only downside was an obnoxious lady who had to talk on her cellphone with the speakerphone on high twice. She wouldn't stop talking or leave the room, which is not real big, and we almost left.

Ordered Chicken fajita w/o pico de gallo and cilantro rice. Plate came with pico de gallo which apparently at this restaurant has jalapeños in it. They also gave me extra blackbeans. Lots of red and green peppers, lacking in onions. Tasty. Also served a nice assortment of salsas and warm bean dip with their chips. Very attentive staff. Clean interesting facility. Right in downtown Placerville.

Considered Pollock Pines, but menu shows address as Camino. Location: First Pollock Pines exit US Hwy. 50 East toward South Lake Tahoe.
We had a delicious meal at this historic restaurant. I had the prime rib sandwich and it was simple but tasty; beef, cheese, grilled onions on sourdough toast. All the flavors, including the toast combined to make a satisfying meal. I also had a bowl of chili and it was some of the better chili that I've had. I also had a taste of the clam chowder (excellent) and the barley soup (very good). Their chocolate mousse dessert and chocolate suicide cake were not made there, but they were very good. Our server was very friendly and always made sure we had everything we needed. The real star of the show here, though, is the owner. She's a Korean woman who has owned it for about three years. It's clear she has built up a loyal following as she greeted many locals by name. This is a convenient stop just off Hwy 50.

Hard to mess up "pub food" but this bad. My spouse's Philly Cheese steak sandwich was unrecognizable and unedible. My hamburger was overcooked and odd but edible. The potato salad was "homemade" and the apparent source of severe diarrhea a few hours later.

Had a great lunch in a wonderful setting while visiting Placerville. Had the clam chowder, chefs salad and both were delicious along with very attendant and pleasant wait staff. Highly recommend this place. The place was a warm and comfortable setting
