The Blue Elephant offers a number of atmosphere options to make sure you have exactly the experience you're looking for. Do you want a restaurant with a relaxing, homey comfort? Try our Dining Rooms. Looking for a bit more flair in your atmosphere? The Thai Room adds a little spice to your ambiance. Do you want to hit the pub for a relaxing pint? Our Brewhouse has a warm and friendly bar and a selection of delicious fresh-brewed beers. Mouth-Watering Made-In-House Dishes At the Blue Elephant, we want your dining experience to be absolutely perfect. That's one of the reasons we make certain that our entire menu is made-to-order, allowing you to make any tweaks to our recipes to suit dietary restrictions as well as your personal tastes. Excellent Food, Made With Local, Fresh Ingredients Keeping it local is a great way to support the Norfolk economy, but we'd be lying if we said that was the only reason we shop local for our food. Locally grown ingredients means that all of our in-season produce is as fresh as you can get without eating it straight off the plant. By supporting local businesses, we're reaping the benefits: crisper greens, more succulent reds, and an all-around unparallelled local cuisine. NORFOLK'S FIRST, AND ONLY, MICROBREWERY The Blue Elephant Craft Brew House went on tap in September 2012 and the brews are being poured faster than we can brew them! In traditional European fashion, our beer is brewed in small batches with no additives or preservatives using local organic barley, wheat, hops and pure water. Our fresh ales, lagers, pilsners and specialty brews are available on tap in the pub, and for retail sale in our Brew Store. Be sure to look for our rotating selection of seasonal brews throughout the year!
This is a pub style restaurant that serves a good selection of craft beer in a cosy, comfortable setting in a repurposed old brick house.Thank you for your review. We hope folks have a down home, small town feel when the pop in.

We ate dinner there this Easter Saturday night. The place was extremely busy and the parking lot was full. A very friendly welcome upon entering the restaurant and was seated within 1 minute.
Wait staff were very friendly and efficient, I ordered the stuffed chicken breast and my wife ordered the chicken souvlaki. My wife had the salad to start and it came with tomatoes which my wife is allergic too.
Upon advising the waitress the salad was replaced in under 2 minutes. The food was excellent and reasonably priced, it has been about 2 years since our last visit and we would still highly recommend the Barrel to anyone.
The salmon is killer as is the Stuffed Chicken breast, also the Pizzas and Souvlaki.
Excellent food, great friendly staff, quick service (place was packed). My wife's only comment was that they no longer offer Pork souvlaki, only chicken.
Stop by and enjoy, never had a bad meal or experience at The Barrel in 10 years.

It was clean, not busy, quick, friendly, polite. The only thing I often find a chore is that the entrance/exit door is quite heavy and if you have both hands full it is hard to push and hold to get out. However I have found that if I back out I can push the door easier with my back and still hold hand purchase in my hands OK The staff is most often young, polite and friendly.

This restaurant has been here many years with good reason. THe main thing I noted was the very friendly and warm service, the waitresses are so kind. The menu is large. I had the perch, cooked well, and got a good portion, with the oven roasted potatoes, they were quite soft, and I wished they had been a bit more crispy in spots. vegetables for the table came in a separate dish, and were ordinary, the roll a bit stale, but overall good food. The place was full of locals. Old fashioned, home style food.

I went there last Wednesday night after a haircut at first choice. The first reason was because it was convenient and could walk there from the hair salon.
I was happily impressed by everything. The service was good and the food amazing!
I ordered the chicken breast Marsala... there they know what Marsala is! The plate was humongous and the food was warm and very tasty! The presentation of the plate was also very appetizing!
My daughter had the chicken breast stuff with Hawaiian preps (pineapple, ham and other stuff too!) She loved it!
My new favorite place in Simcoe!
Way to go!

Serving Breakfast all day. Deli style lunches, homemade soups and stews. Bakery items all made on the premises.
Stopped for lunch driving home from Simcoe. Parking lot was busy so thought it must be good. I wasn't disappointed.
Service was fast, efficient and friendly and the food (veggie omelette) was plentiful and hot!
Save some room for dessert as there are lots of fresh baked goods to choose from.
If you don't have room for dessert don't worry, you can buy treats to take home with you!
I'll definitely make a trip back here and highly recommend you give them a try too.

On an overnight stay in Simcoe, I stumbled upon this little gem. I needed coffee, some breakfast, and a quiet place to hang out for awhile. It seemed the only choices were Hortons or McDonald's and I wasn't happy but resigned. Then I found Serafina. Real coffee! Hurray. Almond milk. Even better! And after a conversation about their food choices settled on the sesame noodle salad. It was heaven! I got the small size but could've eaten much more ... not because the serving was too small but because I wanted MORE! The sauces and dressings and pastries are all made in-house and judging by the dish I had, worth sampling. The biscotti made a fitting dessert. Give it a try!

Had lunch here with friends on a snowy and cold day. The bistro is attached to Best Western hotel and has ample parking space.
We ordered a couple of appetizers, wine and entrees. I enjoyed the chicken galantine. Same goes for friends who ordered the butter chicken with rice.
I would not mind going back to try the other dishes on the menu.
