We eat at the Monicals in Shelbyville Illinois several times a year and are never disappointed. The pizza is consistently good and the service is always top-notch. We love the Monical Delight with pepperoni, sausage, onion, green pepper, and mushrooms - thin crust. The pizza at this location is always loaded with the toppings you choose and the salad size is generous. We are very satisfied customers and highly recommend.

Supposed to be largest dining area around. Always adequately staffed, full menu, loads of parking so can accommodate large groups, RV and boat parking.

We were in Shelbyville for a night, checked out TripAdvisor for restaurants, and decided on Chapala because we're big fans of Mexican cuisine, but not so much the more fiery Tex-Mex.
This isn't a "reservation" place. We parked, entered, and were seated promptly and noted it was crowded on a Sunday evening. Noise level, though was subdued; we (my wife and I) could easily carry out a conversation.
We were immediately served taco chips and salsa. The taco chips are excellent. The salsa I think was tomatillo-based which I've not acquired a taste for. When we ordered, I got some pico de gallo which was a bit heavy on the onion, but much preferred to the salsa (again, others may love roasted tomatillo salsa).
There was a special on "burrito carne" which we got, and also ordered a shrimp faujitas, not really expecting much in the middle of Illinois, far from where shrimp live).
Couldn't have been more wrong: the shrimp were tender, succulent, perfect with the other faujita ingredients. Only two tortillas were provided: suggest you get more.
The burrito was sooo good! We're older, couldn't finish it, took it back to our hotel and had it for breakfast. Total yum.
Chapala is a gem. If I lived in Shelbyville, I'd be eating here once a week.

Though the place was not at all busy it took well over 5 minutes for anyone to notice we'd seated ourselves (as instructed when we entered). Once we ordered the food came fast. It was an okay breakfast and the price was right.

Winter road trip stopped a couple of days to visit friends , they suggested this restaurant very casual, good food. I loved the atmosphere, the feel was very comfortable as if I had been a regular for awhile, we all ordered the ribeye steaks and all enjoyed very much, it was great spending time with our friends and being able to relax , have a great meal and enjoy . Our server was very pleasant and attentive.
Can’t wait to go back during the summer, definitely will dine here again .

We ate here twice while working in the area. For a smaller buffet when compared to some other similar restaurants, the choices were well-rounded and very adequate. And although we never chose the option, one can order off of the menu in lieu of visiting the buffet. The buffet was value-priced.
We found that an amout of the food tasted like it had spent significant time on the buffet line being kept warm, and the food quality was affected. I am not saying that the food wasn't good, but it prevents me from giving an overall rating of anything above average.

This is a very small very busy family owned business. They are cheap in price but the food is excellent! They are is fast and they do have a few seats outdoors and they have a large menu. Don't miss out if your in town stop in.

We stopped in the town to do some family research. We had difficulty finding the historical society so my husband went into the restaurant to ask for directions. They gave him the information that we needed. The Historical Society was closed so we went back to Sally's to eat. The food was all homemade. We had friendly, helpful conversation with patrons and the staff. The prices were good also. It was a very casual environment. If we ever go back, we look forward to stopping in again. Thanks, Devin.

We live in Shelbyville, and have eaten at Legend's numerous times. The food and the service is pretty consistent, and really good.
They have a number of appetizers that I don't see everywhere, like sriracha chicken bites and queso sticks. The corn nuggets are something else, too. They also have mozz sticks, fried green beans, hand battered mushrooms, wings (with a nice selection of sauce choices), nachos.... I'm likely missing a few.
The build a burger and build a (horse) shoe options are excellent, the burgers big, the horseshoes huge (seriously, go for a pony shoe), and I happen to think they have the best fries... anywhere. They also have grilled chicken and salad options, as well as plenty of sandwich choices.
The atmosphere is great, both on game day and quiet nights. There are high and low top tables in the dining area, along with bar seating. It is a family friendly atmosphere at lunch and dinner, and we frequently see diners of all ages.
I don't think there are any menu items over the $10.00 mark. It is a great value, and less expensive than some of the pizza joints in town.

Tropical Sno in Shelbyville offers a vast assortment of flavors to be included in their famous Hawaiian Shaved Ice. Over 30 flavors to choose from! They also offer lemon and orange SHAKE-UPS which are delicious. Stop here with family and friends after a day spent enjoying the beautiful lake. Located within the parking lot of county market.
If you haven't been to this franchise, technically it's shaved ice, much better than a snow cone. The staff is amazing and super friendly, the shaved ice has plenty of size and flavor, and now they offer shake ups if you're not in the shaved ice mood. The business is ran very well from having a very clean appearance to offering some things you might not find elsewhere. A punch card is available making it nice for return customers and holders with spill catchers are offered for those on the go that don't want ice and syrup all over the car. These can also be reused. The only thing that I think someone could find fault with is that it can seem slow at times. The process to make them along with sometimes only having one worker can cause there to be quite a line. You've definitely got to stop though, especially if it's hot. You won't be disappointed!
