I took my wife and daughter and two 5 year olds to Wally's chowder house for a birthday dinner last night. the wait as usual was about a 1/2 hour as expected but when we finally got our food I was shocked. the amount of food was decreased about 1/2 and the food prices went up in price. I guess if they can continue to pull this off for others, more power to them but we wont be back, there are just as good places in Tacoma likes Dukes on the waterfront that are just as good if not better. this place has an ambulance that's work well for kids but I'm not going to pay these prices for that. also its gotten so noisy its hard to have any kind of good conversation with the party at the time, even though there was only 3 adults and two kids. ill stay in Tacoma for now on.

We looked up Yelp to get ideas for dinner while staying over in Renton, WA. Grazie was easy to locate on Southcenter Parkway. This was one of our top three Italian meals anywhere...including Italy! Both entrees excellent. We have highly recommended Grazie to our other WA friends and hope to visit it again.

As we were staying in this hotel for the night, rather than drive out, we decided to dine here for dinner. It was nice.
We made reservations through OpenTable, and were seated immediately once we arrived. We sat near the fireplace close to the window. There's quite a majestic lodge feel, which made for a nice ambience.
We ordered:
- Sauteed Foie Gras - Surprisly good. I've had seared foie gras before and didn't like it because it was so overdone it tasted like regular liver. But the sear on this one was just right to keep creaminess of the foie gras. The puff quinoa marshmallow was a neat concept (like a rice krispie square), but a little too sweet. Potato and hazelnuts were good.
- Vension - OK. Meat was done to a medium rare, but still felt dry after biting into it. Accompaniements were also OK, but I really enjoyed the spiced nuts. Note that I only received two medallions of venison, so it's quite an expensive dish.
- Homemade Spaghetti Pasta with Warm Butter and Cheese - OK. Kids were happy with it.
There was also a complimentary amuse bouche and bread to start. They were pretty good. After the meal, there were complimentary drinks (an apple-ginger sparking juice) and mini cookies and fudge which were quite good.
Service was not so good. For a fine dining setting, our server seemed rather uncomfortable and not-all-together. Our entree dishes were supposed to come all at the same time, for some reason, our plates came about 15 minutes after our kids were served, so something went wrong with the timing.
I was told visitors just visiting the restaurant do not pay for parking, only hotel guests pay for parking.
Overall, well executed locally sourced dishes in standard fine-dining (small) portions. Service didn't quite meet the standard I would expect for fine-dining, so there is lots of room for improvement. I would try again and hope the service is better.

Grabbed two bags of pork bbq sandwiches to go and only took time for extra sauce and a vanilla soft serve cone appetizer for the road.

We wanted to go to the burien fish house before heading to the airport but they were closed, and the Greek house next door was open, so we ended there.
The food was excellent. We had the chicken souvlaki, the chicken, rice lemony soup. Grilled Prawns and beet salad.
I gave them 4 because their prices was a bit high and service a bit slow. Will come back if I come in town.

Renton’s Finest Foods Since 1901! * Steakhouse voted #1 Western WA in 2010 * Affordable high quality menu *Historic Landmark in Renton The building in which the Melrose Grill resides was established in 1901 and has served as a tavern since the days of the horse and buggy. It also operated as a pool hall, soda shop and card room during Prohibition. Recently restored, Melrose Grill kept its historic roots with the original mirror-backed bar with its rich, dark woods. The walls showcase vintage photos that highlight the transitions this grand building has gone through. With wainscoting on the walls, low-slung lamps and high ceilings the space feels as open as the West was when it was built. The Food and Service at Melrose Grill will amaze and delight your senses. We work hard to provide our customers with the finest foods available, and prepare them in a way that will tame even most particular palate. Voted #1 Steakhouse in Western WA by King 5 & Evening Ma.
Melrose Grill almost got a negative review even before we ate there due to their customer service. I didn't realize they were as popular as they are. I just happened to think about going here for our 37th wedding anniversary. I looked up the menu on line to see their offerings and then I saw a place for reservations, not knowing the popularity of this restaurant I looked on Friday for Saturday night reservations. My only options were 9:30 or 9:45 on Saturday night. I did not want to eat that late but it did give me an option for Sunday at 4:15pm. I hesitated as the website site said to call if you can't get a reservation for the time you want. I called and left a message and told them that I would like reservations on Saturday between 5-6 and it was ok to call back until 10pm. I waited for an hour or so and then I decided to go for the Sunday slot as it was still available to book on line so I did it. I then called them back and had to leave another message. I waited til 10pm and no call back. Hence the almost bad review as they said I needed to tell them when the latest was they could call back. At this point I gave up and decided that we were going to go on Sunday. We were out doing our errands on Saturday and got home to a message on our recorder about 230pm stating they had no spots available for Saturday night.
We arrived on Sunday at 4:13 and we were immediately taken to our table. We were greeted by our server who's name we never did find out. She greeted us and took our drink orders, came back and gave us the specials, came back again and answered our questions.
I told her I had read the reviews and most people were talking about about the rib eye but what was her favorite. She gave us her opinion and we both decided to go with the petite size filet mignon because it was less steak than all the others. We also chose garlic mashed potatoes which looking at everyone else's meal they did too. Meal came with mixed vegetables and I asked her if I could get just broccoli and she said yes but that will be an extra $1 charge. I appreciated that. I got the mixed veggies and ate what I wanted then gave the rest to my husband. Also started out with a salad and rolls that were included in the meal. Steaks were cooked perfectly and were so tender. We were glad we chose the smaller cuts of meat 9 oz compared to 16 oz.. We also split a skewer of shrimp which was only 4 of them for an extra $14.
Half and hour or so after we arrived we heard a train blaring and lo and behold there was a BNSF train just feet from the door carrying fuselages to the Boeing plant.
Service was excellent, plates and glasses were removed right after being emptied. Water was frequently filled up. I think each server only had 4 tables to attend to so they were more attentive to you. She didn't force dessert on us either instead said is there anything else I can get you. She read off the dessert items off the top of her head and even brought a candle out on our chocolate torte when she found out it was our 37th anniversary. As more and more people came in it did get loud.
Free parking across street. Will probably be back for another special occasion but will plan ahead and make reservations a few days ahead.
My only negative about this place is that there is only 1 toilet for the men and women. I had to wait in line to use the women's as a girl was in there for several minutes. I was almost tempted to use the men's toilet but didn't.

Our server, Haylee, was terrific. She kept our glasses full, and was very attentive. I ordered the lamb shank. It was served with fresh green beans , mashed potatoes and a delicious gravy. The lamb itself was very tender. In fact, it almost seemed as though it had been slow cooked rather than roasted.
My husband ordered a combo platter and couldn’t finish it... huge portions of ribs, brisket and chicken. I tried a few bites, but all three were very heavenly seasoned and didn’t appeal to me.
The cornbread, with maple butter drizzle, was a very nice treat.

Waited 35 minutes to get in on a Saturday evening. Parking was a challenge to find
Inside once seated, our order was taken, sour dough bread brought followed by fabulous chowder, salads and main courses
One family member had one piece of halibut and chips including chowder for about $26. The second member had two rock fish tacos for about $26. Rock fish is a flaky sweet tasting fish. One taco was large enough to satisfy ones appetite. I hade a three course combo for $29 include a large spinach salad, crab cake with potatoes a vegetables plus chowder. They offer 4 different chowder dishes
We don’t normally spend this much on a meal but it was a nice treat to complete our two week vacation.
Great tasting food and excellent service

This is my first time at the Bahama Breeze In Tukwila, although I have eaten at the one in Jacksonville, Florida and have always enjoyed the food, so was excited to go while I was visiting my sister. The food and drinks are always yummy, but I was disappointed that it was my mom's birthday, and you have to buy the dessert in order for them to put a candle on the cake! I thought that was pretty cheap on their part, especially when we spent almost $100 for lunch! Our server, Jet, was great and very polite. My mom had the lobster and shrimp liguine, I had the coconut shrimp and my sister had the fish tacos. Everything was served hot and tasted great

This restaurant was recommended to me by the front desk at La Quinta. I chose this over the nearest steakhouse and wasn't disappointed. I had the spring roll app and pad sei ew entree. It was a lot of food and tasted very good. I had lots of veggies with the pad sei ew and it was one of the best I've eaten. The spring rolls were good too but I was very happy with the entree. I would definitely eat here again.
