It's always a fun treat to get Dairy Queen. This one was typical, good. The staff didn't have the sweetest demeanor, but everything came out good and as we had ordered.

The service and food were excellent. I had the pork tenderloin sandwich and onion rings... Yum! The salad bar was great, too. Everything was fresh and colorful. Trip Advisor indicated the restaurant was closed, but it really wasn't. I was so glad I called to double check. It was certainly worth the stop.

This is a local favorite. Scott City is a small town, but there are several good places to eat including the Grill House. They offer American and Mexican favorites. The staff is friendly and attentive. We first tried it a year ago and came back this year.

Food is good and fresh. But they take one order at a time, fill that then move to the next customer. On my visit, there were 9 employees at a turtles pace. Fast food gone to "slow slow food".

I always enjoy the food at El Dos. It is reasonably priced and you get a lot of it. I like the fajitas the best, as well as the San Juan burrito. The problem...the atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired. The restrooms are marginal at best and everything feels just a little dirty. The place was a bar so it doesn't have windows and is quite dark.

Service is a little slow. They don't provide napkins unless you ask. This subway did not have the same quality as most in the US.

This is a great family place to eat and relax. The staff understands children and families and is very accommodating. The food here is generally what you'd expect from a pizza place and understanding that, you will not be disappointed. When in Scott City, we are usually there for family gatherings, and this place is a natural for having a convenient, predictable eating place where we can take all the kids, regardless of their ages.

No fair comparing Peking Garden to big city Chinese buffets. This is Scott City, population 3,889. And not really close to anything bigger.
So, if you find yourself crossing western KS and need to stop for lunch this spot is OK. Feature a lunch buffet that is 1/10 the size you see in Wichita. All of maybe 10 trays, 4 of which were fried rice, 2 soups and sweet/sour sauce. Include a diminutive setting of a couple of dessert items and a minimalist salad selection.
But if the selection is limited, the quality is actually pretty good. I can't recommend the spicy soup, and the egg rolls have to be frozen off the truck. But the rest was pretty tasty, fairly fresh even though we were there after 1:00, and no more salty and oily than the same fare served anywhere.
Sorry I don't know the names of all the dishes, and it's no help they don't have labels for them. But I do know orange chicken and sweet/sour chicken, both of which were darned good. The fried won ton was very competent. The plum sauce was watery, but serviceable. Very good fried rice and the other entrees (that I can't name) were good, too.
Price is the good part. If you order from the menu the meals hover around $10, a bit pricey for the neighborhood. But the buffet is only $6.50. Two of us walked out of there for $20, including drinks and tip.
The not-so-good part is the physical facility. It's small-town and I get that. But really, it isn't hard to make a place look like it's open, to clean the floor, to fix the door so it will open. If the food was really pretty good, the building really wasn't.

I'm always very excited to find a proper coffee shop in small towns and The Taylor House is a great local place in Scott City! Very friendly staff who are very knowledgeable about their coffee. They also offer treats and breakfasts. Plenty of sitting area including comfortable couches. An excellent place to have have coffee while catching up with friends. Too bad I didn't take a photo, didn't realize no one has yet on TripAdvisor!

Awful service. It took well over five times to place our order and then they still didn't get it right. How can you mess up a chili cheese coney and a Chicago style hot dog. It's two of the items Sonic is known for, but this place did it. We didn't even try to get it changed after they delivered the order. I guess they are still working out the bugs.
