The Barker Tavern is a fully restored 17th century building, home to a quiet casual fine dining restaurant and lively Eli's Pub, both serving new american cuisine. The historic restaurant and modern ball room sit on top of a hill overlooking Scituate harbor, centrally located between Boston and Cape Cod.
From the minute you walk in the door, the old tavern is a great experience. Best meal our family had during our visit-Huge seared scallops,16+oz. grilled swordfish, and prime rib. If you are lucky, you will have Patrick as your waiter-so polished, informed and on point. Full explanation of ingredients and cooking style for each dish. Not enormous, but very good wine list. Excellent dinner and dining experience. Can't wait to go back.

Good coffee, great view. Friendly, too friendly staff. The chatting can slow down the line.
Never had a bad espresso, coffee or tea here from baristas
Sandwiches made custom fresh. The view is always postcard quality in this great repurpose of an old gift shop landmark, movieset noteworthy

Lobster Rolls.
Based on other reviews, we decided to check out this spot and try the lobster roll. It didn't disappoint. The 5 South Main sandwich however wasn't as good as I had hoped. I ordered it based on the waitress's recommendations. The flavor was on point, but the chicken was a little tough and the bread got soggy from the salsa being so watery.

Don't order a Box of Joe unless you have 20 minutes to spend while waiting for your order. If you want a large cup of coffee and ask for it to be hot, it may come back ice coffee. Go down to the Harbor. You may get what you ask for and timely

They have some nice cakes here. Seems like the morning business is more breakfast sandwiches and coffee. The food is good and reasonably priced. Staff is attentive. Don't have a wide variety of normal bakery products like donuts and scones

Riva Restaurant is Italian/New American restaurant located in downtown scenic Scituate Harbor. Our dining is romantic & charming while our separate bar area is like a rustic beach bar. Enjoy our outdoor patio with live music all summer long!! Riva uses only fresh ingredients and offers excellent dinner specials 7 nights a week.
We decided to try Riva for a special anniversary dinner and we were not disappointed. With uncertain weather in the forecast we made our reservation for four inside...slightly apprehensive that it might be noisy. However, the dining room was comfortable and relatively quiet. Although very busy, we were seated promptly and enjoyed a relaxed evening...never rushed. Salads were generously proportioned and the eggplant rollotini appetizer was particularly good. Each of the entrees was delicious with special note for the petite filet...perfectly cooked. Riva was a special treat...excellent all around. We will definitely be back.

This is probably our third visit to this restaurant. We love the location and ambiance. However, the quality and technique of the food is more like a pub than fine dining.
