I had a sirloin which was better than the steak chains sirloin. Bread pudding was deliciously good. My husband had cream of crab soup and fried oysters, scallops and onion rings. Soup was real salty, onion rings were greasy and the scallops were great, once you took the breading off. I think that they need to change their fry grease more often. I would definitely go back for the sirloin and bread pudding. In all fairness, their specialty is oysters. My husband should have stuck to the grilled oysters.

Was getting sleepy in my travels and saw a highway sign for Moka's coffee house. I love my coffee and service station coffee doesn't do it for me. I have been looking for Starbucks sign but honestly the cappuccino I just got here was better than Starbucks. It's in a strip mall next to Ruby Tuesday's. There are tables outside and also a sofa and comfy chairs inside. The employees were very kind and we chatted for a while. Their prices are a little cheaper than Starbucks. If I lived here I would probably come here every day!

Cheyenne takes your order, brings your food to the table, asks if it's OK and tells you to let her know if you need anything. I thought I had found the one weak point here when I noticed some trash in the booth next door but... Cheyenne strikes again!!
In the same building with the Shell station.

My son and I got back late from the beach and decided to give this place a try. It was packed when we got to the parking lot which was a good sign I guess. Chicken was good fries were good, the only thing I really didn't like was the small size of slaw, but that was really no big deal since we had plenty of chicken and fries. Too bad it is only in Alabama, we will be stopping again next time we are down this way.

I am obsessed with chocolate ice cream and Hershey's has the best. So creamy and you can tell it is high quality. Haven't been there in a while but just thinking about it makes me want to go back and get a scoop.

Great hush puppies and cheese sauce. I don’t normally eat them but theirs was very good. I had the fried catfish and it was ok but nothing to brag about. Baked potato was just average at best. In fact it was dried out.
Waitress was very good and pleasant.

Want a healthy, refreshing, energizing drink, then try Smoothie King in front of Walmart in Saraland. On entering the store I was greeted with a warm welcome and then delightfully assisted in making drink selection to suit my taste. The young lady quickly moved into action and within moments delivered the frozen concoction to my eagerly waiting hand. I was very pleased with the delicious taste as this was a new flavor for me and was a bit apprehensive. I love Smoothie King and will return at every opportunity. Go treat yourself!

Group of four - traveling through Alabama. We wanted to eat BBQ of course so we stopped in. We all chose the buffet because there were so many choices: smoked chicken, short ribs, fried chicken, fried fish, green beans, cornbread, macaroni and cheese, banana pudding, and peach cobbler. Everything was delicious. The cooks kept bringing out food and they were so friendly and talked to the patrons. They seemed to enjoy their job. Service was very good. Appears to be the place all the locals go to.

This is a local chain store that offers their own ice cream that can be mixed with toppings. They let you sample their wares before you choose.
The sign tells you that you can add all the add-ons you can fit. What they don't say is that any of the ice cream that is now displaced by the add-ons will then be thrown away in the garbage, before your eyes. If they are going to throw the product away, why not throw it my direction and allow me to feel there is a value to their product.
The strawberry flavor masks the flavor of the ice creams.
There is also a cookie store that we did not try.
They also have Icee's. Coca-Cola and Blue Raspberry.

Came here for dinner - arrived just under the "last call" for happy hour. Bartender, Mika (I hope I spelled her name right) took very good care of us and made sure she entered our second round before the 7:00 deadline!! Other patrons at the bar were delightful to talk. We really felt the warmth of true Southern Hospitality. If you go here, make sure you say Hi to Mika - she is a delight!
